Three words for Amuyu Teppanyaki Grill: yum! yum! yum! I've eaten here at least six times and every time... wonderful!
This is a fast-food Japanese place with a limited number of sushi rolls plus traditional "fast" Japanese dishes including teriyaki, tempura and katsu. Their bento box is good, their bowls good, and their rolls (particularly my fave Green Dragon) also very good.
The place itself is clean and bright, with a small number of tables for 2-4 diners. The staff is friendly, service pretty fast for cooked-to-order food, and prices very reasonable.
Unlike fellow reviewer Elizabeth, I have not made any special requests, so cannot comment on her experience. Suggest anyone making a special request allow enough time, instead of being in such a rush that, like Elizabeth, you feel "forced" to eat food that's not to your liking.
That said, I question Elizabeth's revision of her review from five to one stars over what appears to be a communication problem. Really, Elizabeth? The food here is great. Give yourself more time, next time, and I believe you'll have a good enough experience to bump your review back up. It's a shame to punish this very fine establishment so harshly for one simple mixup. -

II met the other cook tonight.
I order the bowl "no sauce."
The register lady asks "no sauce?"
And I say "none whatsoever.
I get the bowl and it's loaded with sauce but since I have to be somewhere, I let them know aand I was stuck with that gooey crap all over my food.
Ya, the cook had the nerve to argue with me about "no sauce." To him it means that he can drowned it while he's cooking it but that "none whatsoever" means not to put any more AFTER that.
And now he's cleaning the grills and hs flooded the entire dining area with smoke.
You'll know the difference in the food too. The excellent cook is a big teddy bear guy and makes the sushi -- this cook has mediocre English skills and doesn't follow directions.
So I guess I've lost my local grilled chicken veggie and rice place as of today.Listed in: One is the loneliest number --…

My mom, sister, and I tried Ayumu yesterday for the first time because of the coupons we had. We ordered the Green Dragon Roll and the pepper chicken. Both dishes were very tasty and were served in decent sized portions. The cook and cashier were both very friendly. The only problem we had with this place was the boba drinks! The boba itself was very good (not too hard and not too squishy) but the drinks were horrible! My sister ordered a Thai Iced Tea and it tasted NOTHING like Thai Iced Tea (we've tried many before). The flavor was way off and tasted purely of condensed milk. My mom ordered a Taro drink, which she said didn't taste bad but didn't exactly taste like Taro. My Caramel Mocha drink was actually okay. When we asked the lady to add more tea to the Thai Iced Tea drink, she said she couldn't because all the drinks are made from POWDER - so that's why everything tasted fake. On the upside, she was very understanding and let my sister pick out a new drink. My sister chose Mango and while it didn't taste like fresh mango by any means, it was at least drinkable this time. I recommend eating here but getting your drinks from a different location!

As the first reviewer said - the teriyaki sauce here is fab. The portions are perfect and the different dishes are priced reasonably. The shrimp yakisoba is really tasty as well.
So hey - get OUT of the Panda Express, pass Rice Garden and go straight to Ayumu...you'll be glad you did! -

I know that basically to get anything "authentic" you have to usually a) make the food yourself from scratch, b) or go to someones house who knows how to make it authentic. However on this day I didn't have the luxury of doing any of those things. When I found this place, I said the options available look to be healthy, and in a good price range The interior is not really much, do the fact it is a fast food type thing so you really can't expect anything fancy, however, the friendly service will make you forget about the blandness of the interior. The menu is pretty small, however I can say the huge portions you recieve will make you forget the revelatively small menu. I ate a noodle dish called yaki soba, with shrimp and vegetables, it was very very very good, and honestly one serving from this place serves as lunch and dinner. I would say the best way to describe this place is very very very superior healthy alternative to places such as panda experess and the places that are a mixture of a donut shops and chinese food stores. I can say that this place is a good place for a lunch, or even appetizers to touch the stomach.
