Best yoga place I've been to yet. I've left every time feeling refreshed and energized. Before I tried this place, yoga always felt like a boring, slow-paced workout. At Ayuh, it felt almost like a spiritual experience. It was so much more than just a workout.
I have only been here for the heated yoga sessions. It definitely makes a huge difference. I think it warms your muscles so that you are more limber and can challenge yourself more without hurting yourself. Yoga here is definitely intense, but your body will feel amazing! -

This review is based on a private yoga party that I had attended.
The instructor Adam was great, he taught our private class which was a mixture of first timers and beginners with respect to our levels of experience as yogis.
The facilities appeared to be clean, I did notice a lot people walking on the floor with their shoes on in areas that I thought was supposed to be barefoot only, this lead me to question the actual cleanliness of the establishment.
The location of the studio was great, I love the feel of being in a small town in some bucolic location, when in actuality your in the suburb of Union City.
My overall experience at this establishment is "Yay! I'm a fan." I have a regular studio that I go to and practice yoga at which I am very pleased with, so it would be hard for me to come back here unless it were for a special event or if my current studio closes, but for those of you in the area that are looking into a great place to practice yoga, check out Ayuh!
The name as practically calling to you to practice yoga. -

So happy I found this studio. The staff was so warm and inviting. The front desk lady, Evelyn made me more excited about joining than I originally was. I opted to do yoga instead of physical therapy for my back and Shannon was so helpful and soothing. I really needed some relaxing time for myself and this place delivered just that!

Been coming here daily 8 months now. For meditation and restorative, gentle sessions Shannon is the best. For hardcore level 2-3 killer hot yoga, Azra is hands down the favorite. For long deep stretches that make you feel whole Lynn is the one. For an all around truly good session for meditation, multilevel, strength and flexibility endurance practice, Sparkle is a favorite. New comer Rick is quickly establishing a big fan base with his Anusara inspired style. Another new yoga teacher, Barry has become a favorite as his flow style and yoga philosophy teachings are addictive. One of the stronger and positively most fun yoga teachers is, Meisha who will insure a most rewarding experience with a unique style another favorite

The last time that I tried yoga was as a fitness course in college and it seemed fun. That was years ago...
I saw the Yelp discount for 10 days for $20 and decided to just try it since the studio is ten minutes away from my home.
LOVED:
location
price
instructors
other students
cleanliness
layout of the facility
the discount on Yelp
the classes (hot yoga & ashtanga vinyasa)
the Ayuh website
the interactive calendar on the website
the friendly office staff
Just awesome overall with no dislikes at all. -

It's small, but the staff balances it all out. Everyone is just so friendly and kind. This is my first time taking actual yoga classes and I'm loving it!

I miss Azra's class dearly now that I don't have a schedule that allows me to take them. But, on the plus side, I've discovered Sparkle's classes in the evening and she is divine.
I remain utterly thankful that Ayuh Yoga is in my community and that I have a Zen place to go (and I'm not a Zen kind of person) to help me decompress. Love love love Ayuh Yoga!2 Previous Reviews: Show all »

I think my review is going to sound parrot-like...
The studio is clean, which is crucial for a hot yoga studio especially when you have people dripping with sweat, no amount of deodorant is going to save you from the smell.
The staff and instructors are helpful and friendly. Their website also has a live schedule for you to sign-up.
The only thing I disliked is that after each session when it is shavasana (where you relax and just lie there), there is always couple of middle-aged housewives who are just not mindful of those that want to relax and have it stay quiet like they are supposed to. It would help if the instructors stay in the room and shush them
Okay I'm being bitter and mean, they may not housewives, but they are usually middle-aged, so they should know by now how to follow instructions and not talk and disturbed the rest of the class. -

Coming here was definitely an impulse move for my friend and I. We had always talked about taking yoga classes and when we passed by this studio during a random drive, we just had to check it out. We decided to sign up for the 10 day trial for only $20 which was a great deal considering we're broke, soon-to-be college students. For 10 days straight, we took as many classes as we could handle, though I admit we took a day or two off to relax. By the end of the trial, we had felt so worked out and decided we needed to relax for the next few days.
Our favorite classes were Ashtanga Vinyasa with Sparkle, who is an excellent and friendly teacher. She is awesome and very helpful. We also decided to try out Hot Yoga, which can get pretty intense and by the end of class, we were extremely sweaty. The Hatha yoga classes are wonderful when you are in need for moments of relaxation.
Overall, my experience was amazing. The facility is clean and thankfully not smelly, like I thought it might be. Classes tend to get filled up easily so make sure to arrive a bit early! I have not yet returned yet due to the fact that I have no job to pay for a membership but once I do, I will be coming back! -

Absolutely LOVED Ayuh :) The staff is friendly and the studio is well kept.
My friend and I got the groupon deal back in June and started using it in July. I was able to attend several different classes. I loved the fact that they offered different yoga practices, zumba, and boot-camp.
Here are the classes I tried:
Mon/Wed boot-camp class with Archie was awesome! I looked forward to it every week. He made the class super fun and the workout was amazing. I definitely felt it the next day ;)
Thurs Power Yoga with Azra was my favorite hot yoga class. I did not miss a single Thursday during my membership there. Azra is energetic and challenges you in ways I had never been challenged before. FAVORITE!
Sat Zumba with Monicah was a great way to start the weekend. I loved walking out into the Farmer's market after class and getting some fresh fruit.
Sunday Ashtanga Vinyasa with Connie was great. This was not as challenging for me but I really enjoyed it.
All the instructors I had were friendly and very professional. I am sad my groupon is over and wish I could afford the walk-in fees. I was just here for the summer and would definitely consider a membership if I lived in the area. Highly recommend this studio. -

One of my favorite bikram studios in the Bay!!! I would actually say it's 4.5 stars.
Pros:
Easy & free parking
Great $20 intro special (BONUS - they had a groupon!)
No carpet which means no stinky smell
Very very friendly staff
Shower & storage available
Easy to find off the freeway
Instructors are good and give personalized attention
Kid friendly
Tea samples at the door
Not-so-pro:
The only thing that stopped me from giving a 5 star rating was that the room was not quite as hot as other studios I've been in so you don't sweat as much. -

This place is so great! Glad I finally found the courage to walk in here! I have never tried Hot Yoga before and I am really enjoying it! I was so excited to see this studio in my neighborhood.
I initally started with the trial and then bought a 10 class pack and am now seriously considering a membership.
I have heard about yoga places being either stuck up or kinda gross but Ayuh is neither! It is so welcoming and clean...you really enjoy the atmosphere and then after class - wow - you feel wonderful! -

Ahhh... just thinking about this place brings me to a calm, happy place.
I've only been going here since last Tuesday, but it's definitely become the most favorite place I have ever practiced yoga (ever). Last week I signed up for the 30 days for $30 special and it is SUCH an amazing deal. I have already attended 5 classes, it's amazing.
Power Yoga: You really get your sweat on, but it's such a fun time. I never sweat so much before, UNTIL....
Hot Yoga: I just tried this one last night and it was amazing. I feel stronger and more limber already. The poses were challenging, but I felt absolutely no pressure to go too crazy with them (aka do them to their fullest capacity). The instructor, Brian, was really good about letting us do our own thing (as in not go too far).
Hatha Yoga: This class is perfect for the morning. I wish I didn't have work on the weekdays so I could go every morning!! It's so calming and really warms up your body for the rest of the day.
Overall: I love this place and am definitely going to sign up to become a full-time member once my 30 days are up. Every staff member I have met has been friendly and warm. I definitely suggest coming out to Union City for some yoga time.Listed in: Hometown Favorites

I swear I had multiple belly rolls right before power yoga. My Reeses Pieces binge from the night before had not been that forgiving when I first walked into class, but I swear to god the rolly rolls were gone when I left.
Of course that benefit does not come with some torture. You are in heated room drinking your own and other people's sweat, while bent over backwards on the verge of falling on your face. However, Azra our teacher was very kind and encouraging. I'm pretty certain the the rest of the staff are just as nice.
The studio and bathrooms are very clean. It's probably one of the nicest studios I've ever been minus the snobbery. I never thought I would even run into a Yoga studio that I really liked in Union City, but I must say that I enjoy this facility very much.
Now that I sweated out my belly rolls I'm going to order an extra large pizza from Bronco Billy's across the street. -

Got here right as the 9:00 AM Ashtanga Vinyasa Sunday class was starting and was just going to sign up since I thought I was too late. The friendly girl at the counter encouraged me to go into the class and I could sign up after class. She handed me a mat and towel and I went in.
I was really glad I did. Having no frame of reference since this was my first yoga class ever, Henry did a great job instructing. The class was small so he could provide personal attention to each student.
The staff is friendly, the bathrooms are clean and the hardwood floors are perfect for doing yoga without any body odor smells.
I'm looking forward to trying other styles of yoga at this studio. -

Finally, after yoga-surfing the Tri-City area by taking advantage of web deals, I am excited to finally have found my favorite yoga studio here. Although I live in Union City and probably have driven past the studio on a weekly basis, I never knew it was there. So I am really thankful for Groupon for bringing me here. I began with Hot Yoga with Brian, Power Yoga with Azra and then tried what ultimately is now my favorite class - Six's Thursday Power Yoga (it is changing to Ashtanga Vinyasa) . I loved them all since the teachers are truly dedicated and down-to-earth, but there is something about Six's teaching style and personality that makes me loyal to him.
I have been taking yoga classes, on and off for about 5 years and have had numerous instructors, ranging from the really intense, fast, boot-camp method to a languid and relaxed meditative yoga. I also have done the really really Hot Yoga. But Six has the technique and heart. And even than that, he is just plain sincere, deeply intuitive and easy-going.
As a mother of 2 toddlers, I also appreciate that Ayuh Yoga offers really affordable childcare. I haven't taken advantage of this because I know my youngest will not be able to cooperate, thus taking away from the relaxing yoga experience, but perhaps later...
Give Ayuh Yoga a try if you haven't and you'll be challenged and feel amazing. -

Absolutely the best experience you will have as a novice or expert. From the instructors to the people at the reception desk, everyone is so encouraging and helpful.
As a beginner, I tackled HOT YOGA ....what comes to mind Searing Heat, Pain, and Suffering......WRONG!
Not with Great Instructors like- Brian, he talks you through movements and types of breathing that you think your body could never do; but he moves you passed that "Mind Block" and you're wonderfully and amazingly suprised at what your body can actually do! always at your own pace!
And that's it! You're "Addicted"! To the "Changes in Your Body", "Wonderful Atmosphere", and the "Soothing Calmness" you begin to learn how to create Inside and Out! And, its Conviently Located! -
Review from Trish C.
Twist your body beyond recognition in a room that feels like Springfield in the summer? Yup, I'm hooked on that sadistic, satisfying shit.
I have always wanted to try yoga but kept putting it off - overwhelmed by all the terms that describe the types of yoga, the positions, and offbeat locations that I couldn't get to ... yup, the excuses go on and on.
So here is this place about five minutes from my house, and no longer could I find an excuse. Seemed like karma. Did the ten day/$20 special and loved the classes I took, which were the Bikram/Hot Yoga and Power Yoga. Brian and Azra are great, very patient with us newbies, encouraging, and really helps you understand why people do this on a regular basis. Still a little intimidating for me because I don't know all the pose names, which would've been more helpful for the Power Yoga, but that's on me, not them. They help as much as they can!
Only (sort of) negative was a student in my row who kept correcting my posture during one of the classes. I don't mind being corrected and appreciate help, I just don't know why she would do it to me when she couldn't do them herself? Maybe I was confusing her because she was watching me. Whatever the reason, practice what you twist, lady.
I'm coming back for a monthly membership. Please support them so they'll stay put!!Comment from Vielka H. of Ayuh Yoga 9/25/2010

I was completely content with Ayuh yoga. I had only gotten up the balls to go do Yoga after a fitness-obsessed friend of mine dragged me with her; she had gotten some crazy Groupon deal so I tagged along in the pursuit of my own personal pathway to bolstering my self-happiness, sense of well-being, and the physical challenge of being in a hot-ass room for over an hour, just inches away from strangers. I LOVED IT! I was happy to pay full-price the next week when I returned on my own, which is saying a ton because of how self-conscious I feel usually doing something new. Good crowd, helpful instructors that do not make you feel bad about your lack of flexibility, and the location is easy to find. They had expanded by the time I returned, which is great news because they must be doing well. And for those of you other new yoga students, bikram really is not that intense. I was nervous about the heat but it was more than tolerable. I felt extremely capable even weeks after a one and a half hour session. If I wasn't working and going to school both full-time, I would absolutely be here more often. I still marvel at the deal my friend had when she first was introduced to Ayuh, they are worth much more.

First of all, I am so THANKFUL that there is finally a yoga studio in my hood! And Thank You Ayuh Yoga not only for your accessibility but that you have class times that fit my schedule!
I've searched long and hard for a place to practice hot yoga and was so pleasantly surprised to find that Ayuh had opened close by. And the cherries on top?
- The staff is welcoming and friendly.
- Brian is a great instructor. He is welcoming to all students and especially beginners. He gently corrects your postures but is never militant about it.
- The place is bright, airy, and brand new.
- They have great class and membership pricing. Check out the full membership if you are serious about yoga, fitness, and nutrition.
I'm definitely a fan and am hoping more people join to keep this local business thriving! -

I am absolutely a newbie to yoga and all other things exercise!! But everyone here has been really great and I have felt very comfortable. I like their hatha yoga-very relaxing, maybe too much as the older woman next to me fell asleep in class and snored..jajaja, the strengthening one was a little hard for me--my limbs were shaking like leaves!! lol...but felt good when I finished. Bootcamp was a bit challenging but manageable. Zumba here was ok. Not as many Latin beats as I like in my Zumba and the energy was lower than the other Zumba classes I've attended. Glad I found this place!

I went to my first Zumba class on Thursday and the class was awesome. I am a big spinner and thought it wouldn't be as much of a work out. WRONG! It was a great workout and I was sad when it was over. I attended the Hot Yoga class today which was my first go at Hot Yoga. The instructor was perfect as was the class. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to go back again.
The location is new and the set up is great. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They even have daycare and it is cheap! There are two main rooms for yoga or the group classes.
They have a great rate for drop in so I high recommend anyone that lives in the area goes and checks it out. They have a great 10 day pass for $20 bucks as well.
Next adventure is Kettle Bells!

I love this studio! Finally a studio that doesn't smell like dirty feet and body odor regardless what time of the day it is. I've done a Friday night hot yoga class, Sunday morning Ashtanga Vinyasa (my favorite) and the Tuesday and Thursday sunrise class. The three instructors had different styles but I still enjoyed them all. I'm so addicted I decided to cancel my local gym membership and join here instead. Namaste!

Excellent studio. Small, yes, but clean & smells awesome...like herbal incense. Love that part about the studio. The owner & instructors are very friendly and helpful. I have taken boot camp w/Archie- super fun guy!, hot yoga w/Brian (the owner and very helpful/friendly), & power yoga with Brian as well as Azra. Azra, by the way, is amazing and can get you to do things you never thought possible. She is also known as Dolian @ ClubSport. Also, FYI, if you know Dawn from Bikram Fremont, she has joined this studio and teaches on Thurs/Sat. She is also AMAZING. Great studio, great classes, great team. I highly recommend to get a balanced workout for your body.

The last time I took a yoga class I swore that I would never do it again. I was bored, uncomfortable and way too hot (Bikram Yoga). However, I talked myself into trying it again, and this time...I loved it! Ayuh Yoga offered a physically intense (but not painful) class, and a peaceful and meditative environment. At the end of a long and stressful workday, this is the workout from heaven!
