5 reviews for Ayres Suites Mission Viejo
I've stayed at this Ayres and the one in Seal Beach. Even though this location is a bit off the beaten path away from the freeways, it was a beautiful location.
The room was nice, I loved having a leather couch to lounge on. Having complimentary breakfast was a great addition. The "green" approach that this chain has is interesting and appreciated.
The staff was truly kind. The girl that checked us in (I'm sorry I forgot your name) was more than gracious and the next day, when we had a few questions regarding our stay, Gina was extremely helpful!!
I will definitely stay at this location again when I need to be in this Orange County!

The room is big and all but ummm so what?! After a long ass drive I really didnt want to have to come to a SMELLY room! I mean the place reaks of Garlic! I am starving however the closest late night rest. around is pinche claim jumper and they close at 10pm on Sundays! I am starving and the only way to feed myself is to get back on the damn toll road then back again. Thanks! Not interested!

Next stop, #8, another Ayres. This time in Mission Viejo.
I actually went home for one night before heading out again. I went locally this time down south.
As expected, the room was consistent with all Ayres hotels and suites. Nice, very spacious, leather couch, sink, coffee maker, refrigerator, nice bathroom, sitting area, coffee table, television with cable. Complimentary breakfast as usual along with evening refreshments.
The air conditioner though was leaking, so I moved rooms which was fine. No big deal.
Friendly staff and quick response from housekeeping and maintenance.
Two nights and I was gone again, heading back to Los Angeles where this all began.

The property itself was very nice. The reason I gave it such a low review was the shockingly rude staff. From the check-in clerk to the gentleman working the breakfast room everyone seemed to truly hate their job and the guests. My group did have a good time exchanging outrageous stories of horrible customer service so I guess that was a plus. The behavior of the staff was confusing until I met the "customer service supervisor" on Sunday. I have no idea how she possibly got this job. If you are considering staying at this hotel do not expect good service. In fact, I would highly recommend staying anywhere but here.
The room smelled bad, musty and of old smoke. The front desk person told me there were no other rooms with two queens. She held up a can of air fragrance for a solution.
The air conditioner is noisy. It starts and stops, and every time it starts up again, it's very loud, loud enough to wake you up. It also didn't do a good job of cooling the room.
The bathroom sink is in the bedroom, so you can hear your spouse's every tooth being brushed and every spit into the sink while you're trying to sleep.
The part of the bathroom with a door houses the toilet and the tub/shower. Lighting is very dim in there. The shower force is okay, not great. The toilet flushes loudly.
If you would like something brought to your room or someone to come to your room to help with a problem, you're out of luck. You will be told "I'm the only one here, I have no one to send."
This hotel is in an inconvenient location. No shuttle to the airport. Front desk person said cab drivers (for the airport) don't like to come all the way out here and are often late.
The window opens four inches, which is nice, but the freeway noise was a problem and I couldn't leave it open at night.
Breakfast included with the price of the room is good, ( cereal, eggs, fruit--the melon was hard, actually--with big, comfortable room to eat in.)
If you call from home with questions about prices on the website, front desk person will act like they've never seen the site, know nothing about it, and the price is 'probably wrong' (because I couldn't click on 'reserve a room'. Turns out you have to choose 'deluxe' or 'executive' before you can continue.)
I'm exhausted from trying to sleep with that air conditioner, so I would not stay here again. I also didn't like how cut-off from Mission Viejo the location felt.
