Nice linens, courteous staff, and great breakfast.  Room decor on the frilly side -- seems old fashioned and out of place for a business hotel in Orange County.

Good breakfast, ambience, quality construction = quiet rooms.

OMG!  Huge tub with jets and pizza @ happy hour.  Yeehaw!

Nicely appointed (appeals to the "more mature" crowd, I'm sure.  With Liesure World nearby, ;-)

    - Refrigerator
    - Micro
    - Large room with high ceilings
    - Large flat screen TV
    - Nice lounge area
    - Pool/jacuzzi
    - Nice courtyard
    - Restaurants and grocery nearby

I've stayed here several times before and anticipate doing so again.

The ambience, as mentioned before is appealing to the older crowd for visitors to nearby Leisure World, but it's a very pleasant stay.

I was in the area on business and didn't pay for the room, but did sign up for their frequent stay points.

I stayed in a King room for almost a week and found the hotel with some very strong positive points, but a few detracting negatives.

The good first I suppose. The room, decor, and atmosphere was pleasant with a good amount of posh (but definitely not overdone or at the level of a super expensive hotel). The front desk was pleasant as well and the complimentary breakfast was actually good (not just adequate, like many places) and was staffed. The central pool and general decor of the outside and living areas was nice as well.

However, there were a few annoyances. This was my first experience with price gouging and hidden fees in America. I was charged $20 for making local calls, which is typically free in many hotels. The service was also reluctant to give me a room of my choice and I was stuck at a ground level one facing the noisy pool with a promise (that never happened) that they would move me.

Oh well, it was great to still crash on the couch and watch the flatscreen with ample room all around me.

I would have given them 4 stars, but I am disappointed in their housekeeping and customer service. I left a rather expensive personal item in the bathroom and somehow they didn't find it even though I remember exactly where  I left it. This means either the housekeeper or someone else stole it or threw it away. This leaves a lot to be desired in such an expensive hotel. Next time I'll go to the motel 6 and with the money I save I can buy myself a new electronic toothbrush!

It was a pleasant surprise to find a hotel like this at this location.  We had the King Executive Suite and was very spacious.  The room was clean, had a microwave, refrigerator.  On the 3rd floor, there was a laundry room to wash your own clothes.

The bed was comfy and breakfast was okay.  I was glad that there were scrambled eggs, something hot (as opposed to the "continental breakfast")

The only thing that I found really weird was when we were walking in the hallway to get to our room we passed the laundry area and we saw a guy in  just his underwear.  Apparently, he was washing his clothes and didn't have anything left.

Otherwise, I slept well and was pretty much quiet.  Plenty of parking.

4/5 instead of my usual 3/5 because this place actually has a decent breakfast. Granted all Ayres offer free breakfast buffet with all around consistent quality and selection (eggs, bacon, sausage, potatos, cereal, breads/bagels, pastries, coffee, tea, milk), but this place had GOOD bacon and not the paper-thin bacon I've seen at the other locations.

This Ayres also has BELGIAN WAFFLE MACHINES. Do-it-yourself stayle waffle irons with pre-measured batter and timers to tell you when to turn the waffles. Syrup, butter, strawberries, and whipped cream.

Granted. I don't usually eat breakfast, but I was VERY impressed when I saw the offerings at this location. Thumbs up.

The pool/patio area is also very attractive. The other Ayres locations typically have a standard deck and pool. Nothing worth looking at or even visiting to be quite honest, but this place had an outdoor seating area with awning, various plants, and a separate gated pool area. Very nice.

I would imagine this is one of the newer locations built so that would explain the upgraded features....or maybe because it's Laguna and so close to the beach. *shrug*

At any rate, the lobby was the same as all Ayres. Rooms were the same. I stayed in two different rooms this time.

First night was in a King Suite on the first floor. King bed. Comfy sheets and bedding, though the pillows were too big for sleeping. GREAT for lounging and reading, but not for sleeping. Sofa was upholstered and not leather which was a pleasant change, though aesthetically, I prefer leather.

Instead of a window, the room had a double paned sliding glass door that opened into the patio area. Very pretty and very convenient as it was also just six steps to the breakfast nook.

Fridge and Microwave. Coffee machine. Separate sink and counter. Coffee table. Sitting table. Work table. Soaking tub and 4-setting shower head. All very consistent with the chain. Super strong air conditioning though and it blows directly onto the bed so you may want to switch head to foot when you sleep here.

The second night was spent in a corner suite on the 3rd floor. Queen bed. No sofa. Leather recliner instead. No coffee table. More square footage and two windows instead of one. Otherwise all the same.

I enjoy the Ayres chain as you can tell from my reviews, but so far, this one has impressed me the most simply because of the breakfast offered and the center patio area. I'd probably come back again for fun. A local get away at a nice business hotel.

This hotel was a very nice hotel for the cost (around 110/night group rate). The lobby is very rich in fabrics, fireplace, and large over sized furniture.

The staff was friendly and helpful. We were there for a wedding and they helped us in finding all of the events.

The breakfast was good, but a bit chaotic on the cooks part. It's great for a free breakfast, since they make omelettes to order. The outside patio is nice when it isn't raining.

The hotel is located in the same parking lot as some other stores, so you can easily walk to a few shops.

There was a sink and LARGE mirror in the bedroom (in addition to the sink and mirror that was part of the bathroom). It came in handy but seemed very out of place.

The views out of the rooms could have been better. For such a beautiful area of California, the view was parking lots and a lot of cement.

    Overall well worth the money!

I give this hotel a five star because they offer complimentary breakfast - the omelette is really good. They also have happy hour free snack, drinks, beer and wine. I also love their king size bed that would really fit me, my husband and my little son. Aside from that the bed is comfortably soft as well as the pillows! I can sleep for 8 hrs straight. The room is decently clean. Generally, im satisfied with our stay here. Can't find any complains about this hotel.

I stayed in the Ayres for 2 weeks on business travel. I have very few complaints about my stay. I stayed in a King Suite and it was quite spacious and very comfortable. The Ayres doesn't have all the amenities that an extended stay hotel has but there are no extended stay hotels in the area so the Ayres is more than adequate. There was a small fridge, microwave and small kitchen sink. During the weekend we took a weekend trip to Disneyland, it was just a quick 20-30 min drive up 5. In the future I would consider staying at the Ayres for a Disneyland trip. The front desk staff was always friendly and willing to help including accepting packages for me from couriers.

My only real complaint is that at breakfast in the morning the bagels were pre-sliced and dry.
