Review from Laura G.
"El que parte y reparte le toca la mejor parte."
What do you do when a reporter calls you out of the blue and interviews you for being the best Indian cook in the city? You make it a career.
It can be a bit of a mission getting a spot in one of Ayesha's classes, and yes it's a bit out of the way, and to some, like me, a bit expensive, but very, very, well worth the investment.
From the moment she opens the door, you are greeted with an ear-to-ear smile, the kind you get when you see an old friend's after a long time, a friend who just happens to good incredibly delicious food.
You are encouraged to sit in the living room, again, like a friend, while the rest of the guests arrive. Everything is neatly arranged on the table (just the way I like it); recipe packets, chairs and class schedules.
The class began with an introduction to spices and their benefits, then transitioned directly into cooking.
In an hour and a half we made 6 different dishes; Butter Chicken, Basmati spice rice, flatbread, seasoned potatoes, cucumber salad and a scrumptious arroz con leche-like dessert made of vermicelli noodles.
The small class allows for a very homey feel, and conversation flows very well.
I met some very nice people and got to enjoy a meal in a beautiful setting, one hundred times better than a restaurant.
For those not-so-avid cooks, Ayesha also caters and offers private hands-on classes for a minimum of 9 people.
The only thing I would say that made me uneasy was all the things she tried to sell us. On the one hand it's good, she has all the tools and spices we need to do these things at home, but I just wish she would save it for the end, it's something that took away from the overall experience.
With that in mind, I suggest you take some extra cash, just in case you DO decide to buy something. I took home some spices, including her own blend of garam masala.
As a testament to the experience, I have told everyone I know of the amazing time I had in this class. The only regret I have was not eating more for fear of looking like a "fat-ass." I could have easily had more servings.Listed in: Hidden Gems

I splurged on a Vegetarian Delights cooking class with Ayesha, and I have to say it was money well spent. In just 3 hours I feel equipped to cook at least 6 Indian dishes. Ayesha is a lovely host and teacher. She is warm, funny and intelligent, and you will feel instantly welcome when you arrive.
At the end of the cooking demo and some hands-on practice with frying homemade pooris (bread), the group sat down for a delicious meal. (Our mouths had been watering since 11 a.m., so the group was definitely anxious to tear into the Indian treats.)
Normally the meal is eaten in Ayesha's backyard Tiki Hut, but today the weather was less-than-Miami-fabulous, so we were all content to sip Chai tea, munch on palak paneer and fight over tri-color pilaf in the comfort of the warm dining room.
If you like Indian food and have any interest in cooking, this class is a must. The seats fill up quickly! Tell Ayesha that Jessica said hi! And tell her I'm coming over for dinner TONIGHT! -

My friend and I went to our first class with Ayesha this past weekend. We immediately decided to sign up for 3 more classes after 3 hours of an awesome time at Ayesha's home. She is so sweet and gracious! Ayesha breaks down Indian cuisine, which is intimidating to me, into something I can recreate at home. The food was so DELICIOUS (and healthy)! I can not wait to try my new recipes at home and look forward to my next class.

I am a regular student of Ayesha's. I have taken all of her classes, and I make the dishes quite frequently. The features I look for in a good cooking class are 1) reproduce-ability of the dish 2) potential for creative customization 3) expanded knowledge of nutritional value. All three of these I get from Ayesha's kitchen.
If you are a beginner in Indian cuisine, or if you are a true afficionado and rather proficient - these classes will be more than valuable to you! Everything is explained well and in detail, the result is tasted immediately - it's the perfect format! -

Ayesha is the best! My girlfriend and I went into this cooking class without any expectations, and were blown away with the entire experience. We were welcomed by Ayesha into her lovely home, and sat comfortably while she explained and demonstrated the basic methods of Indian Cuisine right in front of our eyes. Afterwards, the 8 of us sat out under her beautifully covered patio and feasted on the full-course meal that we had just watched being prepared.
I would recommend this class to anyone who likes to cook, likes Indian food, or just likes to meet nice, enthusiastic people. Ayesha charges but a fraction of the value of this course, and I left with valuable recipes, three of which I've made in just the first week after the class. Anyone can learn to cook these meals with Ayesha's classes, so don't hold back. This deserves 5 Stars for sure! -

So far I've taken 3 different classes at Ayesha's Kitchen and I'm sooooo excited for my fourth class that's this Tuesday - Holiday Entertaining where we're going to learn all about chutneys, mango lassi and more! I've loved every class and get so excited for the next. Cooking Indian Food is no longer a complicated mystery for me. I've been able to replicate the meals that Ayesha cooks very well and have been able to introduce Indian home cooked meals to my family who were very resistant to it before. Now they can't wait for me to cook it more often! Thanks Ayesha! You are a great teacher and an excellent chef!

I set up a bridal shower for my friend Joanna, and we decided to incorporate cooking classes for the bride to be. Ayesha's class was so much fun and we had a great time. She is so knowledgeable and a really nice person to teach what might seems like a difficult topic. She also gave up great recipes and explained all the spices and what they are used for in each meal!

I'd like to add on to my first review for Ayesha's Kitchen. This past weekend my Mom and I went back for our second class- Butter Chicken & The Works. Once again, incredible. While this was a pretty complicated class, Ayesha broke it down and encouraged me not to be intimidated. I can't wait to try to recreate the dishes. Food was delicious, class was fun and it was a fantastic time. I hope to attend more classes soon.
