Great food, great customer service.
I came for the first time before I moved to San Francisco and was met by Ayadi et al. I was told places to go and things to do, all while eating some awesome pizza.
I keep going time and time again. Love it! -

Absolutely Atrocious!!! Stay Away!!!
Poor quality ingredients & slow, but friendly service.
Caesar salad had bottled dressing with soggy, packaged croutons. The cheese was not Parmesan but something soft, and white--YUCK!!!
Then the pizza. They can have one star for the crust but otherwise horrific. Their combo pizza had dried-out mushrooms, over-cooked green peppers, 'tangy' tomato sauce that may have been mostly catsup, green olives and a little cheese. Note I mentioned nothing about pepperoni, or sausage. What kind of combo pizza has no meat??? -

This is the first Yelp review I've ever written.
That's how disappointed I am.
Why in the world would you have an option to place an order on your website, IF YOU DON'T CHECK YOUR WEBSITE?
Placed an order online. An hour and a half later, we're thinking, "Hmm. Maybe we should call them to check on our pizza?"
They informed us that they don't check the website, and that our order was never received. That was their only response -- "We don't check the website."
Bummer. I would have just as easily picked up the phone to place the order in the first place and given them a try, but this city is too saturated with good pizza places to deal with amateur hour, rookie problems like this.
Get your act together. Decide if you want to offer your customers a service like online ordering, and then actually follow through with it. If not, just take it off your website. Simple as that. -

Best. customer. service. ever.
My friend and I went here after a night of dancing, so we had worked up quite the appetite. We walked in 7 minutes before closing expecting to be served a dry slice of pizza resembling the texture of cardboard that's been sitting under the warmer for the last 4 hours. Instead, the awesome pizza dude was more than enthusiastic to cook up a fresh one and offered us recommendations on what he likes.
He was rockin out to some music in the kitchen and the ambiance was totally chillax; we didn't feel rushed to get out of there even though they were closing. The pizza was super fast - from the time we ordered to the time it was on our table in less than 10 minutes. My friend and I proceeded to inhale the entire pizza and watch some TV. Obviously, the pizza was dank because I very rarely eat 4 slices in one sitting and I wasn't even drunk.
I was very impressed and will absolutely be going back. -

What a sad disappointment of a place. Where are you YELPers getting your info.? This was a horrible ambiance, slow service, and gnats abound. The pizza was good if you don't take into account the tangy sauce. I do not recommend. I came here due to yelp reviews. I'm sad to say I was led astray from the food pizza elsewhere.

I ordered a pizza from Ayadi through Seamless. I got hungrier and hungrier as I waited. It never arrived.
I called them to check, but only got voicemail. I left a message, but received no return call.

I think it's safe to assume that your post 2am customers aren't going to be your most sober and may go so far as to suggest that being the only place open till 3am in the area and as a pizza joint, that you're soliciting the intoxicated patron.
This place is a like a frickin' drunk person obstacle course; a proving ground to test your abilities at Jack Daniels logic and rationale.
1. The order challenge: attempt to order 4 slices of pizza. But we have a vegetarian. Severe misunderstanding with the guy. End up letting him order for us since all we can establish is that one shouldn't have meat.
2. The bathroom challenge: are invited to use the bathroom by one guy. This means jumping over a rolled up hose and a mop bucket as apparently the bathroom is also used as storage closet. Once the leap is complete, are informed by somebody else the bathroom is out of service. Are told to use the door marked private next to the bathroom......which just has a sink and a shower. The girls are invited to use a similarly intoxicated neighbor's bathroom. The guys......thrown out of the place for using the shower by another person waiting for them as they come out.
3. The pizza challenge: 30 minutes later and I am the only one who is still inside, everybody else standing forlornly on the sidewalk after the bathroom challenge. Pizza hasn't arrived. I ask the owner? for a status and he tells me he gave me my pizza and points to a table of people I don't know (there are a total of 2 other parties in the place). He apologizes for giving my pizza away and says he'll fill my order as soon as possible. I check on my friends. Return to collect my pizza to witness the owner staring down my friend with our to-go order between them.
Hightail it out of there severely confused by what happened, and sad we can never return even though we all live 2 blocks away. -

No joke - the worst food I have ever eaten.
1. Took over an hour to be delivered
2. Wrong pizza was delivered
3. Garlic bread did not have the "fresh mozzarella" that I paid an extra $1.99 for
4. $8 salad consisted of 99% wilted spinach + 2 slices of tomato and 2 slices of old, soggy cucumber
5. Once the driver came back to swap out pizzas I got my order of pepperoni and black olives. This consisted of slices with a strip of sauce down the middle, a thin layer of cheap cheese on the sides of the sauce, two pieces of pepperoni and ridiculously salty Greek olives on undercooked crust. I have had microwaved frozen pizza that tastes better than this. Weird set up with barely there, poor quality toppings.
6. Garlic bread was basically a cheap hot dog bun that had some butter and was heated in the microwave. Disgusting.
Bottom line I was shocked that the total was $50 and that it took longer than it should to arrive (well over an hour). Although the guy I talked to about the delivery issues was very nice and apologetic, the food was horrible and I now have a credit at a place I will never EVER go back to. -

Good pizza for a very commercial part of the city. We had some cheese, and sausage pizza. They also offer Pizza blanc, pizza smothered in mozzarella, ricotta and prosciutto. I saw on their menu a variety of Heros, grilled eggplant a meatball parmigiana style good fellas sandwiches. A vegan? There's also fresh salad, tuscana salad, Greek salad and other forms of ruff-age. Enjoy. :-)

The first time i ordered a pizza from Ayadi it was certainly a NY - Napolatana inspired pizza. The fresh Mozz was splashed over a fresh layer of fresh tomatoes and the bottom layer was just right. The crust wasn't perfect by any means but the rest made up for it. I was psyched, could this be a decent NY style pizza outside of Victors and Arinel's? NO, fucking scam is what it is. So i ordered a second pizza 1 month down the road. I swear they called some shit pizza joint and had that delivered to me... the pizza was so bad i threw most of it away. OK, HERE IS THE STUPID PART... I thought the one time was a huge mistake so i decided to try them one more time... O MY FUCKING GOD... I was delivered the WORST pizza ever. I would have rather ordered from papa fucking dominos than receive this shit...
Please do not order nor support these people. They are just as fake as our government. If you want a decent pizza order from Victor's or make one yerself like i should have done if i remembered i ran out of yeast.
AYADI is a complete scam and i would recommend not supporting them.
Here is a list of wonderful NY inspired pizzas in SF you should support:
1: Victors pizza (order a large, ask for only 8 slices and no oregano)
2: Go to Arinell's and order a large cheese. Or take a cab and order 3 slices of cheese.
3: make it yourself.
4: SF is full of shit pizza and you will never find a decent NY slice unless you go to Arinell's. -
Review from Jenny L.
Although I went to this joint late, the Smokin' Goodfella's pizza was nothing like what I expected based on the claim for the "world's best pizza". The staff barely spoke English to respond to my question regarding what was their favorite pizza. After waiting 15 minutes for them to slice a few skimpy toppings and bake the pizza, I was shocked at the contrast between the picture and what I saw because it was night and day. Despite the disparity, the pizza was flavorful and tasty with a solid crust.
I probably won't go back even for their claims for the best "old world style" and "NY style" pizza. The ambiance and decor is tacky where the tables and chairs are arranged in an uncomfortable setting. -

I called in for delivery at Ayadi last week, and was very, very impressed.
The pizza was very good, and the service (everything from the friendliness of the person who I spoke to, to the quick delivery of the pizza) was even better.
The Sally Pie is great; very unique.
WIll definitely be ordering from here again. -

Ordered from Ayadi Pizza last night for the first time. I'm a fan of the Pizza Alla Vodka (I might be a little bit biased towards anything with Vodka sauce).
Even though the person on the phone told me they were slammed and it would take about 45 minutes to have my pizza delivered, they arrived within 25 minutes. Personal delivery from the owner himself! He was very friendly and even offered a discount for the next time we order from them.
Great pizza, great service! -

On a rainy evening in San Fran, this place was close to our hotel and we stumbled upon one of the most classic gem dining experiences of our lives.
The menu had some unique pizza styles, which prompted creativity. I basically combined the Pizza Alla Vodka & the Vegetable Pizza; the end result, we loved it and so did the owner! He named it after me, so if you want to go in there and get it, ask for the "Brett Pizza" the owners Ayadi will know it!
The pizza was very tasty and worth the wait with very fresh ingredients. Ayadi is very passionate about pizza and service; originally from Sicily he now splits his time with his family between San Fran & New York City.
Ayadi gave us a 20% discount for a future visit and even offered us a ride home due to severe weather out! Don't count on the ride home or be disappointed if not offered, but its worth the kudos for his good service and karma.
Order the "Brett Pizza" it has fresh mozzarella, tomato cream Vodka sauce with brocooli, onions and zucchini. -

An awesome addition to the neighborhood! As someone who is always in search of some good NY-style pie, Ayadi delivers. That also goes for the other items on their menu like the heroes and salads. They have a great selection of very original pizzas and sauces which is a welcome addition to the SF pizza scene. My personal favorite is the Smokin' Good Fellas pizza which has an amazing red pepper cream sauce that I've fallen in love with.
If you're looking for a fine dining experience, this is not the place for you. It's pretty bare bones right now so I'm looking forward to seeing what Ayadi does to this space. What it may lack in esthetics it makes up for it with a great staff, outstanding food, and an owner that truly loves what he does.
I am visiting this place at least once a week and I'm never disappointed! If you haven't gone yet, don't hesitate. -

I was so excited about Ayadis addition to the neighborhood but didnt get to try it until yesterday! I had the Smokin Goodfella pizza without meat and it was easily one of the best pizzas i have ever had. The crust had exactly the right amount of crunch and the sauce had creamy goodness.
Mr.Ayadi himself is super friendly.
I am a fan now and will definitely be a regular here now! -

San Francisco, CA
What a great addition to the neighborhood! Ayadi himself is as friendly and personable as it gets and CLEARLY, he knows his pizza. I wasn't feeling too well one night and was craving just a basic margherita. It was truly wonderful with it's crispy crust and delicious cheese. Ayadi gave me some Italian Wedding Soup and wow, it was possibly the best clear-brothed soup I've ever had. The sausage was of a very high quality.
This seems like a great place to bring a group of friends and the family. Or, if you go solo, I'm sure Ayadi will make you feel more than welcome.
I'll be back for the dessert pizzas and some of his popular items on the menu. -

San Francisco, CA
I'll be fair: I never made it to eating the pizza.
The place: reeks of cleaning solvent, not exactly an enticing scent.
I stopped by once in the afternoon and there was NO one there except this one man who didn't speak English. I kept having to repeat myself, and he had no clue what I was saying.
Part of why I stopped by was because of the advertised "Free Wifi" sign on the door. When I asked to use the wifi, the guy took me to his computer. No, I don't want to use YOUR computer, I want to use the wifi on MY computer! I asked him what the network key was, and he had no idea.
I ended up cancelling my order and leaving. -

Usually, if an owner or manager contacts me after a negative review, I will agree to give them another chance. I will not accept any discounts or coupons. I will also not tell them when I will order or visit again. Sometimes, it is two days and sometimes it is four months.
Ayadi Pizza is one of these.
I am glad I gave them a second shot. The second time was much better.
Delivery - I placed the order at 7:16 PM. The estimated delivery time was 8:24 PM. The order was delivered at 7:50 PM. At 36 minutes, the delivery was fast and came well before the estimated time. There was no delivery fee. The delivery person was extremely friendly and professional.
The order minimum is low ($12).
Quarrto Canton Pizza - Mushroom (First Corner), Imported Provolone (Second Corner), Sausage (Third Corner), Pepperoni (Fourth Corner)
This time around, the pizza was very good. It was very well prepared. Each individual corner was good. The crust was perfectly cooked and had a nice bread favor. It was neither to soft nor too crispy. The sauce had a great tangy tomato flavor. My favorite corners were the mushroom corner and the provolone corner.

Wings
As with my previous order, the wings were a little too oily. But they were still hot and I ate them all.

Philly
This was a decent sandwich. It could use a little more cheese. Plus some onions would be nice. It was a touch on the dry side. The roll was excellent.

Salad
This was a simple salad. But the ingredients were fresh. It was still very chilled. I enjoyed it.

Packing - The food was neatly packed. The pizza was in a traditional pizza box. They should start to use one of the little plastic thingamajobs in the center to insure the pizza is protected from coming into contact with the top of the pizza box. The other items were packed in easy to reseal plastic clam-shell containers.
Prices - The prices were very reasonable.
Quarrto Canton Pizza
$ 12.99
Philly Cheese Steak Hero
$ 6.99
Ayadi Sampler Platter
$ 9.99
2 Canned Soda
$ 2.50
Subtotal $32.47
Tax $2.76
Total $35.23
Overall - This was a very good experience. I will probably order from them again. The only reason I might not is that I continue to try and check out new places. The food was good. The pizza was very good. The delivery was fast. The service was friendly.Listed in: Mark's - They Deliver List, Mark's Pizza and Calzone List…

Lots of potential but they need some work. I ordered an hour in advance for an office delivery for noon and they did not arrive until 12:30ish. Although they did throw in a free pizza, soup and salad to make up for it. However, they gave us the wrong soup (we ordered Italian wedding soup and got the veggie soup) and they forgot to take the meat off one of our pizzas as requested.
Overall the pizza tastes great but the prosciutto was cut way too thick and was too chewy and there was only 1 piece per slice. You could tell the cheese was good quality tho. Like I said, it has potential but in a place like SF where most people are food-snobs they should step up their game if they want to become a hot spot. -

Apparently I have some sort of medical condition where if I don't eat within 20 minutes of leaving the gym - I want to kill kittens. Given my general fondness for kittens, I am always curious to try restaurants in the 2 blocks between the gym and my condo.
Ayadi just opened up and I couldn't be more excited. They were still setting up shop tonight when I stopped by. Ordered an individual specialty pizza called "Smokin Goodfellas" (or something like that). Some magical combo of sausage, peppers, onions and creamy red pepper sauce. Perfect crust. While waiting on it, Ayadi offered me a drink on the house and even a slice of the vodka pizza they had made! Also amazing. I cant wait to try the rest. Apparently the whole menu is organic, and I heard there is a berry salad that is exceptional.
What may really set this place apart, however, is the people. Ayadi is super friendly and clearly excited about his new spot. He has plans to add all kinds of entertainment as well, from belly dancing to karaoke to movie nights.
So I would like to officially welcome Ayadi to the hood. I can see spending quite a bit of time here. I will probably eat so much pizza I will want to go to the gym more. Which will, in turn, lead to more pizza stops afterward. This will likely create a vicious cycle with all sorts of unimaginable consequences.
At least the kittens should be safe. -

This place just opened a block down from my apartment so I had to check it out.
I ordered their Pizza alla Vodka from the "specialty pizzas" section of their menu and was not disappointed. For the most part the pizza was delicious - great crust - though the cheese was a little thick in the middle and drowned out the nice vodka sauce flavor.
In general I would have given this place three stars, but they show a ton of potential for being only four days old and I think they deserve an extra star for that.
Check this place out! It's a great new addition to the neighborhood. -

San Francisco, CA
This is my first review on yelp!. I am normally happy just using the site to get a better idea of the offerings around the city, what people's experiences were, etc., but after eating here I felt compelled to write a review.
We ended up coming here because of a Scout Mob deal that I should have read a little more carefully. I particularly grabbed by this excerpt from the ad, "...And when the menu advertises the popular Smokin' Good Fella's pizza as the best in the world, it's not just a lofty claim, the pizza recipe, from Goodfella's on Staten Island, has taken home an award from the International Pizza Festival (did you know there was one?)". No. I didn't know there was one, and upon further research after coming home disgusted and pissed, the only thing that popped up on my internet research on the festival + Ayadi was were their own claim to the award and the advertisements surrounding it. Shocker.
Here was the deal. Check it:
"SCOUTMOB BRINGS YOU:
50% Off Ayadi Pizza. Expires on 06.06.2012. Code: e2af. $5 max discount. 1 per table. Dine in only. Can't combine offers."
Yeah... Super generous. I didn't even bother using the coupon as I was sure it would have been much more hassle than it was worth.
I like that the coupon said "Dine in only." as this was an experience in and of itself. When we walked in, we were actually a bit apprehensive with following through with the whole ordeal because not only was the fluorescent light extremely unflattering for the configuration they had chosen for the place, there also wasn't a soul in the place, not even at the counter to take our order. Silly me for not following my instincts and wanting to give this spot the benefit of the doubt.
We ended up ordering the "best in the world" Smokin' Good Fella's pizza and an order of garlic bread (yes, double bread. we are disgusting slobs... moving on.) The pizza took a bit longer than one would have hoped, but nothing outrageous, and I think more than anything, we were just hoping for some slammin' pizza. Wrong. What we got was a pretty much the worst pizza I've ever had. Like, not even comparing to frozen super market pizza bad.
Let me just throw this in really quick, and remember, we were dining in, so we were sitting at a table and expected to be served in such a away. When our pizza and garlic bread came, they were both boxed to-go. Pizza in a proper pizza box and the garlic bread in a cheap Styrofoam container. We actually had to ask the staff if they were about to close or if it was OK to eat in, because by the looks of it, they wanted us out of there. They said that it was of course OK, but did not proceed to accommodate that kind of eating experience. We ended up placing the pizza box and Styrofoam container in the middle of our table and going to town.
Back to the food. Here is how the pizza is advertised - "Smoked mozzarella cheese, roasted pepper cream sauce, onions, fresh sausage, roasted peppers with pecorino Romano cheese fresh basil." Before I even get into the composition, let's talk about the pie structure. As a few people on here have pointed out, there is an excess of crust. Yelper, Johnny D., nails it with this breakdown, "I wish they would put more toppings on because while the pizza may be 15", the area with actual toppings was only 10". That means each slice has 2.5" of crust at the edge.
I think the problem here is that they have a good recipe, but the help they hired couldn't care any less about the business."
I couldn't have said it any better myself, so i'm just re-using his observation. Thanks, Johnny. Now the ingredients and composition. Ugh. Tragic. The sauce was more oily than creamy, the fresh sausage was definitely store-bought, cased, possibly frozen sausage, and the roasted peppers were these HUGE overwhelming slices of only green (photo advertises red and green), non-roasted, but rather oven-warmed peppers. You would have been lucky to find a slice with all of the ingredients on it at one time. The garlic bread was a cheap french sandwich roll that was luke-warm with the butter barely melted in the bread. Needless to say, we didn't finish our pizza. Nor did we take the rest to go, and for us, that says it all.
There are soooo many other pizza places in this city, and in my 10 + years here, I've had my fair share, and even the cheapest, seemingly shadiest places I've gone to have had better 'za. Take your chances elsewhere.
Not really sure what else to say, as I think I've said more than I had the intention of doing, but bad pizza is, as Don Fey would put it ,"inexcusable!".
OH- The one positive thing i will say about this place is that the owner was super nice and gracious with us. That being said, as one of the other reviewers pointed out, maybe too nice to the point of excess. How can that be bad you might ask? Idk. It just didn't make for a very comfortable place to dine. -
Review from Courtland A.

I'm not a foodie, I'm just a regular guy who likes pizza. I spent my college days ordering Domino's and loved it, if that tells you anything. Still, it's been hard to find a decent pizza delivery place in SF. Most places I've ordered from seem to use really low quality ingredients that taste... weird. Once I ordered from some spot in the Tenderloin that actually baked a clump of hair into my pizza (*vomit*)
Anyway, I'm an optimist, so I've kept at it. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I got my standard try-it-out order: large pepperoni (their NYC style, not their "Old World" style whatever that is), and it was GREAT! I mean I know my bar is low, but fiiiiinally someone passed it.
1. All of the ingredients (cheese, pepperonis, sauce, crust) tasted like they should.
2. The large was actually pretty big. Usually I finish in 1-2 sittings, but this one took me 3.
3. Speaking of which, it tasted great when refrigerated and then reheated.
4. I got some cheesy garlic bread on the side. Unfortunately, that was great too. Dammit. Now I have to order it again every time.
5. Delivery was fast (like half an hour to my spot in Nob Hill) and the driver was nice.
6. Despite getting a large and a side, it was cheap! -

So, wow.
Almost immediately after I posted my original review, the owner, Mohammed, contacted me here on Yelp. His message was very apologetic and he made it clear that he would greatly appreciate the opportunity to make it up to me. I called the restaurant and actually spoke to him for a second. Again, he was incredibly apologetic and empathized saying, "I know I wouldn't enjoy a cold pizza." Apparently, due to an unforeseen chain of events, the driver was delayed which is why my original order arrived so late and cold. He insisted on comp-ing my new order, even saying he'd make it himself. It arrived on time and piping hot! AND it was delicious. Great crust and the ricotta is out of this world.
I really hope this place does well. And this isn't me being all "rah rah Ayadi" just because they sent me some free pizza. Sure, the pizza was tasty and free stuff is always a bonus but the folks who run it seem to genuinely care about customer service and experience. When i spoke to him, he said he firmly believed that as a business owner, he should treat customers just as he would want to be treated - and i believe him. I used to work in LA in PR so I'm fairly good at sussing out "I'm just telling you what you want to hear" BS but he truly seemed genuine. The fact the owner would go above and beyond to win me back as a customer, when so many other joints can be such apathetic dicks, definitely impressed me. Oh yeah, and the pizza was stuff-my-face delightful. (I want to live in an igloo made from pizza crust and that ricotta.)
I will definitely be ordering from them again!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Ayaldi Pizza: disappointing.
Maybe I just don't get the "style".
Ordered Large Old World Style Crust with Pepperoni, Mushrooms, and Extra Mozzarella.
Extra Mozzarella- I expected this to mean more shredded Mozzarella thrown on top of the pizza. What I got was PARMESAN POWDER. Like from the green can. I'm not sure how this happened.
Crust was hard, no sweetness. Very thin.
Pepperoni and Mushrooms were fine.
Sauce was thin, and sweet.
Cheese - I could have used more cheese.
I also ordered garlic bread with Mozzarella. It was very delicious hoagie type role buttered and toasted with Mozzarella in the middle. -

Don't let the outside of this place fool you...this place is quality, and the owner is super nice! I came in one night when the place was empty for a late night snack. The owner entertained me while I waited for my pizza by giving me a tour of his kitchen and even showing me his secret pizza sauce! The pizza here reminds me of homemade pizza that my mom use to make. The ingredients are all fresh and organic. I'm sure I'll be coming back often!

Not the greatest service in the world. I'm not sure if these other people have never had good pizza, if there's just no good food spots around to compare to (this is true) or if this place offered them a freebie or good deal if they'd write a good review on Yelp. Definitely need to work on service though!
My co-workers and I went here today there was a "grand opening" sign. We thought it was a "by-the-slice" joint, which would have been AWESOME for lunchtime, but unfortunately it is by the pie only, which worked out in the end because there were 4 of us. They have heroes, salads, garlic bread, and pizza - a pretty wide selection.
We got the following dishes:
+ Strawberry Salad - which they ran out of spinach??? They substituted mixed green salad (clearly purchased from Safeway across the street because they left out the box and everything!). Pretty good, but they didn't actually wash the leaves before serving it. The dressing was some concoction of honey, mustard, and vinaigrette which was very tasty.
+ Large Pizza Half mushroom & half prosciutto - Not too bad. Crust was okay, not enough cheese, and not enough prosciutto...but good mushrooms
- Garlic Bread - DO NOT ORDER!!! It's a waste of $ because it looks like a little kid just threw some garlic on top, stuck it in the oven and burnt it. See the pictures because this garlic bread was worse than homemade! What restaurant chain actually serves burnt bread???
The bathrooms were dirty and old, but mostly dirty. Keep in mind, they just opened up shop like last week, but the service is something they need to work on. A small mom&pop spot, but they need to train their cashiers a little better. We had a Groupon for $20 worth of food and when we gave it to the girl, she looked super confused and said she didn't know how to use it. Guys, if you're going to have an online deal of some sort, at least tell your employees about it so they will know how to handle the situation. So our order totaled to $26 and she was having mad trouble doing the math to deduct $20.
We ordered all of this to go and it took 30 minutes to make the pizza and salad - the same amount of time as if we had been dining in. The girl said they made extra salad for us, which was really nice, but I'm not sure if I'd have a reason or the time to come back unless it were to try the heroes. -

I ordered online, I got the "old world style" or whatever and it was not good. Old world must mean no sauce, boring crust and minimal toppings. I just wanted a pepperoni pizza with tomatoes (they also don't have tomatoes), but I got a cheesy tortilla slice with maybe 2 pepperoni pieces per slice. I won't be ordering from here again.

Great pizza - organic dough and ingredients too!
This is a family run place, the owners are really warm and friendly people. They will even be adding a brick oven soon - cool!
Haven't tried their delivery service yet. -

UPDATE: I got this note from the owner:
"Hi Molly,
I have to agree with you that %50 off with max $5 is a false advertising. I just started this partnership with scout Mob. They r the one who did the deal .It is their fault and I called them this morning so mad like you about this bad tools of advertising. The manager said they picked %50 off because it bring attention to a lot of people, also she said they have the same thing for all deasl and they can not take it off. I addressed my concern and I am not willing to work with them if they do not change the %50 off. Thank s for addressing the issue to me and visit us @ AyadiPizza and I will give you %50 off my self. Thank s for reading my response. madam I was a soldier once and I served the American people all my life. I will never mistreat any fellow citizen. God bless and have a good day."
Thanks!
Sounds like Scout Mob needs to get its act together.

Disclaimer: I haven't been here - this is a review of the restaurant and not the food itself.
Like many San Franciscans, I use Scout Mob for awesome local deals. When I got an email in my inbox this morning advertising 50% off pizza at Ayadi, I was intrigued, and looked farther into it to see where this place that had NY water shipped out to make it's pizza out of was.
When I went to the Scout Mob website to see a further description, I was very disappointed to see the fine print :
MAX of $5 off, 1 per table.
WHAT??? The small pizza costs $15 - there's no possible way to get 50% off with this "deal" unless I use it on a drink. This is just a scam to get people into their restaurant using FALSE ADVERTISING.
I will not be using this deal or going to Ayadi Pizza - ever. -

Decent pizza place near the pier, away from the tourist places. Next to trader joes.
Pizza was good. Owner was nice, almost to the point of excess. But the pie tasted fine and came out quick enough to get me and my coworker back to the office in time. Fair enough for less than $10 a person on Wednesday afternoon. Will be back. -

Delivery was late, but room-temperature pizza doesn't really bother me so no deductions for that. NO DEDUCTIONS for luke-warm pizza, and still 1 star... HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??? Read on...
I might have made the mistake of not ordering one of their specialty pizzas, but if ordering a make-your-own necessarily results in uneven crust, a sparse smattering of tomato sauce pretty much on half the pizza only, canned mushrooms and previously frozen sausage, I don't know that I'm willing to risk anything else. For over $18, I'd have been far better off buying 3 frozen pizzas, and not just because it'd have been quicker and taste better, but because I would have had a colorful box to look at while eating sub-par stuff.
I also might have made the mistake of comparing this place to other pizza joints. And frozen pizza. In absolute terms, this pizza was great - didn't get food poisoning, no foreign ingredients I didn't ask for, wasn't 30 days old, etc... Unfortunately, I compared it to other pizzas, and it fell on its sauceless/stale-toppinged face.
My hat's off to them for seemingly raking in a 200% profit margin (I can't imagine the ingredients + labor + OH for this was any more than $8), but because I happen to be on the consumer side of the gig, I guess I'd like to get something worth my money.
If you want to eat at a place, go to Tony's, or Za, or Arizmendi (far trek for us north beachers though). Delivery, Za, paxti's (deep dish). Take and bake, anything from the frozen aisle. Seriously. And I don't like frozen pizza. "It's not delivery, it's digiorno" better than "it's not pizza, it's misshapen bread, 3 slices of cheese and drop of sauce.:"
Again, maybe Saturday is a bad day to get pizza, and I should have known better, but I won't be testing my luck anymore here. -

We stopped in for a quick bite after I nearly killed myself riding my bike down Lombard (note, don't!). The staff was super helpful and the owner himself made a recommendation for us. The food came out quickly and the crust was just how I like it: light and flaky and perfectly chewy. I cannot recommended Ayadi's enough!
