I haven't made a Yelp review in years, but these guys are worth it. I recently brought in a 2002 Maxima I was about to sell, without a reservation. Within a few hours and for $175, they upgraded both the inside and outside more than I expected. I sold the car for about $1,000 more than I thought I would, and these guys deserve some credit for that (aside from my great salesman skills).
The service was totally friendly and prompt. I highly recommend if you're looking to sell your car. -

I pre-paid for 12 washes, the 3 they did were good but now they appear to be closed. I am hoping they open up somewhere else but for now looks like I got ripped off. Buyer beware I guess....

If you're looking to get a fantastic detail, THIS is the place.
I just had my car detailed here (interior & exterior) and my car looks like the day I bought it. Incredible job and they even found a Tiffany earring I lost awhile back.
Kenny was terrific to work with - my car was ready on time and he was super helpful, pointing out things I needed to have looked at by the dealership that were still warrantied items that needed to be fixed. One of these was a hard to see hole that was being worn by the mechanism in my convertible top. Sure enough, BMW agreed to warranty it and had he not pointed that out, I'd be out a BOATLOAD of dough.
'Nuf said. This places rocks. -

First of all (and most importantly) the end result was fantastic. I brought my car in filthy inside and out and it now looks brand new.
I read reviews on yelp and pulled in needing a wash, wax, and vacuumed interior (normally $60 for a small car according to their website). I asked the owner if he could also clean up the dash and do a little bit of detailing on the inside without incurring the full $150 job. We reached an agreement on $100 and I must say I am very happy with the results. The quality was superb and very detailed from the front of the car to the trunk. It far exceeded my expectations and is why I am writing this review.
I had pulled in hoping to only spend $50, prepared to spend $60, and ended up spending nearly twice as much ($100) -- all due to the professional and relaxed nature of the owner...and I am very happy I did. If you are on the verge of trying to decide between a simple wash and wax and a full detail I recommend spending the additional money. You won't regret it. Plus, the owner recommended a great coffee shop around the corner (Rancho Parnassus) where I could sit and wait for my car. I need to write a separate review for that place as the coffee was some of the best I've had in the city! -

I had a wonderful day driving Highway 1 in my Jeep about a week ago. We got some CGC cheese in Point Reyes Station, hit up Marshall's for the BBQ oysters and clam chowder, and started heading back to the City. Perfecto. Then disaster struck. My passenger apparently decided that keeping her shellfish allergy a secret from me was good idea. Why on Earth would someone pound oysters like their life depended on it knowing it was more like a death wish? She loves shellfish and was being a stubborn ass. Maybe she felt safe because an ICU nurse (me) was in the driver seat? WHATEVER friend! I don't want to stab you with your Epi-Pen on my day off!!! WTF? =)
Long story short...my Jeep suffered a major hit. And we made multiple stops on the road side as we inched over Golden Gate. The smell was ridiculous!
Thanks to Yelp I located this amazing car detailing service. I gave them a call and they were able to get me in immediately. I was unaware that I needed to share what had occurred because I have only detailed my car a few times. I show up and mention the problem areas and the guy says with a smirk, "You brought me a puke car?" Oops! I was supposed to mention that? But he was the greatest. We worked out a fair price and left the Jeep for the rest of the day.
When I picked it up at 6pm, I was impressed. The Jeep was shiny and new like I just bought it. No traces of puke. No lingering smell. He worked his magic on my seats, floorboard, and soft top (told you disaster struck). If your vehicle needs a little love or you want to impress someone with your ride, this is definitely the spot for professional car detailing. Thank you Detail Factory! And big thanks to my allergy stricken friend that paid the bill and will remain nameless...XOXO -

The Detail Factory gives outstanding work and service. I hate to use a cliché, but they go the extra mile to ensure your car looks its best. Well worth every cent of the $200 price.

I'm trying to write a review here... But man, really... I'm speechless.
I was speechless when I picked Car up today. I was speechless when I called my mother to tell her that I got Car detailed. All I could think to do was parody Will Ferrell in Old School.
"She looks... GLORIOUS!"
I resorted to a Will Ferrell parody. That's how dumb the detail I got at the Detail Factory struck me.
I love my car so much. I've owned her for 12 years and -- let's face it. She doesn't QUITE look like she used to. If Car was a human, we'd attach words like "crows feet" and "liver spots" and "muffin top" to her, I'm sure.
But to me -- I see her inner beauty. Because I remember what she looked like back in the 90s. When I was a college kid, horribly abusing her, clambaking in her, whathaveyou...
Now that she's in her golden years, I want to treat her right (whenever I have the spare cash to do so). And now I know that I can do it more often, because Kenny did the amazing, speech-stealing job he did, and he only charged me $175!
That's an INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR DETAIL! For $175!
I not only need to treat Car better, I need to treat KENNY better. Next time, he's getting a MUCH bigger tip.
This place is a real find. If you've gotten your car detailed before -- think again. No. No you haven't. You have NOT gotten your car detailed, until you've brought her (or him!) to the Detail Factory.Listed in: A Car Story

CHEAPEST WINDOW FIX IN THE AREA.
Someone just smashed my passenger side window in on my 2003 VW. I called all the highest rated car window shops in the area and Kenny gave me the best price. $100 for a new window installed and he even cleaned all the broken glass out of the interior. The whole thing took less than 24 hrs to do. Couldn't be more satisfied with the job. -

These guys do a pretty good professional detailing job. My car did almost look as good as new, inside and out, when they were finished. Depending on what exact service you want done, prices could differ, but expect to pay around $200 for basic detailing job.
As described by M S., the place looks a bit like a dungeon, with only two workers. Chris was nice to work with, but I suggest you call ahead before going there, even if you have an appointment, because there are times when they are out delivering the vehicle or out on a lunch break where there is no one servicing the shop. -

I bought a 01 Honda Civic. It was a good deal, but it had 9 year old boy all over the back seat and floor. The rest of the car needed a scrubbing, interior and exterior.
I could tell within seconds of calling that Chris was one friendly dude. Even after I flaked on the first time and rescheduled and then was late for that appointment, he still was friendly and quick to work things out. The car came back beautiful inside and out.
No longer will people think I'm hiding an illegitimate child.
Friendly, quality service at a great price. -

My 1999 car looks like NEW!!! Amazingggggg!!!
They had a special this week, $150 for full detail. Worth every cent!
There was food spilt in my car, and the rancid smell never went away. Now for the first time in over a year, my car smells fresh!
They are sooooo kind and professional. They also have a cute dog that hangs out in their garage. -

You remember when (as a kid) you'd do stupid things to your hair? And then look in the mirror and scream in fright? And then you go to a reasonably priced hairdresser who takes time and care to make you look as good (or even better) than new? Well, that's the Detail Factory, except for cars.
I foolishly parked Trixie under a fruit tree over the (hot) weekend. Needless to say, she was a hot mess on Monday. After doing a quick search, I found out that the Detail Factory was on my way home from work. I was unsure whether they could take care of my little girl, but I had nothing to fear. Seriously, for $20, they gave her personalized attention (a la upscale hairdresser).
- Spritz with cleanser
- Hand water spray
- Hand soap
- Rinse
- Chamois dry
- Blowdry
Plus, the guys were super professional with a can-do attitude, which I ALWAYS appreciate. I came in at 5:45p and asked if they could give her a quick exterior wash. The owner was SUPER ACCOMMODATING and fit me in after taking care of 2 cars ahead of me that were being picked up at 6p. Even though he was short-handed, the guys were willing to fit me in.
Trixie is back to her happy self. I will DEFINITELY tell my friends to come here if they ever need a quick and thorough wash. -
Review from Cassy R.
I was torn between 3 and 4 stars.
CONS: Wax was still imbedded in the cracks and around the logos on the car. It still smells like cleaner, not clean and not like an froo froo smell they sprayed. My foot rest (ie the plastic covering the piece to the let of the clutch) is still dirty. I guess they missed that. They took everything out of all the crevices and placed it in a plastic bag, including CDs that were not in a case. So they got scratched.
PROS: My car is suuuuuper shiney and soooo clean on the inside. No other detail has ever got it that clean on the side. I guess that's worth the annoying smell. As for the service...fabulous. Ray is a great guy who definitely knows what he's doing. -

I felt like I was on "Pimp My Ride" when I came to pick up my bosses car from a much-needed detailing job. I screamed with excitement at how AMAZING his car looked after you could barely tell what color it originally was.
Here is the story:
So, I am driving my bosses car around SF and could not take another second in the vehicle (one thing I must have is a clean car) so I call my Fiance' at work to ask him any suggestions in SF he might have for a car wash and/or detailing shop. He digs into the Yellow pages and Detail Factory happened to be right near work and near where I was driving around. I pulled the car in, half of the workers drop everything they are doing, they washed the car, cleaned it up in 15 minutes and it was sparkling. I then decided to schedule a detailing for the car the following week and was AMAZED, AMAZED at the job they did, inside and out, not one smudge, or default in ANY of it. Well worth every penny. -

One liner: Great guys, great value and most of all, great quality work.
I just bought a new car (well, new to me). It's the car I dreamed about since I was 7. I've been saving my pennies for ages and I wanted everything to be perfect.
The previous owner had lower "clean car" standards than I have and I needed some help to exorcise the traces of his (and his 2 year old's) influence. After reading the yelp reviews (and filtering out the prissy whiners), I decided to bring my car the the Detail Factory for a full interior and exterior detail (yelp special, $175).
Chris and Kenny were quick to answer my questions and listened as I fretted about all the details. It definitely put my mind at ease that they knew what they were doing. When I came to pick it up, Chris walked me through everything that he had done and I could see the pride he took in his work.
Check out the pictures. It's shiny and smooth like the day it was born. The coat of wax is thick and buffed to a mirror shine. They extra-conditioned the seats because the previous guy had used ArmorAll vinyl cleaner on the leather seats (!). Now they are rich and supple the way they should be.
Thanks guys! I'll be back soon. -

These guys are great. They've flexible, thorough, and friendly. I've been there several times now, and I've always been happy with the results (they also did a great job tinting my windows). The prices seem competitive, and the location is convenient (easy to walk to BART/MUNI after dropping my car off).
If you're not sure what you need, just make an appointment, show up and discuss it with them - they'll work something out. I appreciate the down-to-earth attitude: no pretense, no BS, no fast-talking sales guy. -

All the guys here were super cool and very helpful with explaining the service and how my car would look. I was very happy with the outcome!
The price was right and they also offer a hand wash and polish for a great upkeep of the work they just did. I'll definitely be going back. -

I woke up this morning and yelped around to find a car detail place and stumbled upon this beautiful gem - Detail Factory! I called in and asked if I there would be time to come in today and Kenny said "come on in".
Like everyone else I did ze Yelp Special. Dropped my car off and took my dog on an adventure around the city. As quoted was called a few hours later and my car (that has been negligently mistreated for about 5 years) was brand new again!
Great customer service and wonderful end result.
Worth every penny...thank you! -

Go. Don't hesitate. Go. Now.
This is a great, friendly place. I felt taken care of, and that's not just because of my cute Scottish accent.
Fantastic job on the interior - there were one-year old coffee stains on the upholstery and ceiling - you'd need an electron microscope to see any sign of them now.
These guys also do car washes. Go... -

My girl friends gave me a giftcard from them for my birthday, and I was excited about using it. I just called them to schedule an appointment, and this is the summary of what happened :
1) The price that the guy mentions for the requested service is different form what I read on the website; when I point out, he says that site is very old and outdated !
2) I ask him about the 20% off offer on the post card (from the company itself) my girlfriends gave me along with the gift certificate, he first says I can't use the offer , then he get confused and asks me to talk to the manager who is now at the ball park !
3) The same flyer says free pick up and delivery (the flyer was given to us by the company itself ), when i ask about that , the guy says he does't know.
4) when remidng him that it 's a bad business strategy for the flyer to say one thing , for the website to say another, and for him to say a different thing, he starts yelling at me like crazy !
I might just recycle the gift certificate, as thankful as I am to my kind girlfriends. This guys and the company freaks me out with their costumer service, and business style ! -

Just got a brand new 3 series bimmer and needed the windows tinted. I spoke with Sage on the phone the day before and he was easy to talk to. He also told me that he works with Chris (who everyone else talks about) and his brother Ken. I had all my windows tinted and he quoted me a price that was $75-$85 cheaper than other places in SF that I called, which if you ask me is pretty legit!
When I drove in the next morning (down the ramp next to the Big O tires) I'll be honest, my first reaction was that it looked kinda shady since the operation works out of a parking garage, but my apprehension was quickly dispelled. All I did was drive in, drop off my, keys, tell him what I wanted, and then hopped a bus to work. It took all of 5-10 minutes. Super easy!
When I came back at the end of the day to pick up my car, it was the same story. Walked in, shot the sh*t for a little bit, paid, and was on my merry way. They are totally laid back and easy to deal with.
My initial inspection of the tinting is positive. Tint is a great color... a nice black, not purple or blue like some places. And the coverage (without rolling down the windows of course) looks good.
After I let the tint set for the next week, I roll down the windows and do a more thorough inspection, and update this review then. So stay tuned!
4/18/08 UPDATE!
I meant to update this sooner, but kept forgetting. Anyway, it's been about 2 months since I had the tint installed and I couldn't be happier. The cut lines are super clean and the tint is holding up very well. You won't be disappointed if you go here! -
Review from Deanna T.
I'm a girl... which means I DO NOT EVER TAKE CARE of my vehicles; nor do I ever see the point of maintaining cleanliness of one. Its gonna get dirty anyways right?!
Yea... that all changed since OLGA (my dirty battered car) met Chris. I actually found Detail Factory, because I was just going for the parking lot.
Since I was leaving Olga there for a better part of a day, and Chris was so charming, I was "Car wash...heck.. why not!?" Olga deserved it.. since it was 2 years ago (the day i bought her) that she LAST got a car wash =X.... Also... did I mention I have a fur-shedding Pom that I bring everywhere in my car?
Went back to pick up Olga and WOW, i found out that she was actually SILVER and not black!!!!! i had shinny rims!!!! my carpet was a nice black (and NOT covered with dog hair)! AND SIMPLY IT LOOKED BRAND NEW AGAIN!!!
And since then, I have been a total car freak; and religiously bringing it into Detail Factory for Olga's monthly face lifts. -
Review from Cheryl L.
I found the Detail Factory through Yelp and have to say I wasn't totally thrilled with the results. Kenny was very nice and accommodating. He squeezed me in about an hour before closing and assured me that would be enough time to wash my car. He gave me a cash discount which I totally appreciated and I had high hopes for my little car.
Unfortunately, I feel like more attention should've been paid to my car, including some bird shit that wasn't washed off and a whole bunch of dirt in the interior that wasn't vacuumed well. My windows weren't cleaned well, so I actually had to use my windshield wipers to clean them, which seemed to defeat the purpose of getting a professional car wash. There were all sorts of little fibers stuck to the roof of the car when I left which definitely weren't there when I arrived. Granted, I probably need to get my car detailed with that clay stuff and not just washed, but I hope next time they'll pay closer attention.
Kenny couldn't have been nicer, so I might give them another shot. Just next time, I'll wear comfortable shoes so that I don't get blisters when walking to the Westfield Mall (since there's nowhere to sit and wait near the Detail Factory). Note to the ladies: the neighborhood is shady, so watch out for all the sketchy men loitering and waiting to sexually harass you as you pass by. -

I only take the time to write a review when I'm extremely frustrated or very impressed. In this case, I was very pleased with the service I got from The Detail Factory.
I have a 10 year old Jimmy and have abused the heck out of it. The interior was filthy - so much so that you didn't want to get in the back seat with clean clothes on. The interior was very stained with oil, grease, tire grime, energy drinks/gels/bars, snow sludge, mud, saltwater, sand and even some blood.
I couldn't believe how clean they got it, far surpassed what I would have even imagined possible. Most of the stains are completely gone, and those that are left are significantly faded and limited. I mean we're talking about 10 year old nasty bike chain grease, power gel, melted chocolate energy bars and cytomax all well ground into it and it now looks like it has only been used by grandma on Sundays. Even little things, like the light switch and cruise control that had built up grime on it are now fresh and look great.
They charged me less than the price advertised on the website for the package I requested, and did more than I expected (such as cleaning the engine).
Sure, I had to wait 4 days to get an appointment and the place is small and looks a bit like a dungeon like the others have commented, but none of that matters to me. What matters to me is the quality and value of the service, and that what gets them 5 stars from me.
Wonderful to find someone that cares about their work and obviously puts their pride into it - thanks guys. -

Once again I had them detail my car, and once again they did an excellent job. The car is like new.
They also bent out a dent in my front fender, which is A++, and I learned that they'll also detail motorcycles for about $100 or $150 (I forget which).1 Previous Review: Show all »

A photoshoot in the dessert destroyed my poor little GTI. There were dust and grime everywhere. A quick yelp search for the nearest auto detailing showed me Detail Factory which is precisely what the doctor ordered for the little GTI.
These guys went through the trouble of cleaning every imaginable surface and cleaned as much as they can, to me defined the word "detailing". They even offered to steam clean my engine bay for an additional $50 which had the engine bay come out to be in absolutely new and pristine condition.
The only minor complain that prevented the 1 additional star is that there's some surface dust on top of the car after the detailing. I think it's from the surrounding of the garage space they're in not fault of the detailing work. I will be going back for more car washes for sure. -

5 Stars! Called ahead and got the 175 yelp deal for my car, it was pretty dirty and it's been 6 months. It's due for some spa treatment! I spoke with kenny and i didn't need an appointment! I just dropped my car off, and went back to work.
Few hours later went back and saw my car. Boy it was soooooo clean and shiny. If i didn't know any better it was better looking than when i bought it 6 months ago! Kenny didn't leave a mark anywhere. Everything was squeaky clean, and somehow refreshed my interiors new car smell! (and i absolutely love new car smell)
He even showed me how clay bar works too. I left the lot with a smile on my face because how shiny my baby was. The next time i detail or wax my car, i'm definitely bringing it back to Detail Factory. They also do tint and fix dents i believe. -

Review from euge l.
my money pit II needed a good once around. i have completely and totally neglected it. sure i get it washed every so often, but it needed to be pampered.
ive been looking around for a detail shop, ive tried the basical "touchless" places and they do an alright job, but it is what it is, a $20 blowjob in the tenderloin. i was looking for a dupree job.
luck has it, my buddy doc gchats me, hey you needed a detail right? check out this place.
now ive actually walked by this place before. i vividly remembe walking by and sneaking a quick peak down into the "dungeon", thinking, damn, that would be a good place to jack someone.... and i walked faster..
some lowered cars may have an issue clearing the ramp, but my money pit did just fine.
right to it. kenny knows his shit. when i STARTED to mention and point to the plastic molding under the windshield, he knew exactly what i was going to say.
i just handed over the keys.
i came back a few hours later. WOW. WOW. what a difference. now i know the car wont STAY this clean, but the most important detail *cough* about a detail is that you are protecting the paint, not just making it look better. they did an outstanding job. remember, i might not know shit about baseball or football, but cars, i know what im talking about. they did a great job. inside out. they even did shit like clean out the vents. the small DETAILS a detail job should get, they got. i probably couldnt have done a better job myself.
only one detail i DID miss was ask what products they used to clean and protect the leather and suede in my car, but theres always next time and i will be here next time.
HOWEVER of course with the good luck of my buddy doc giving me a GREAT recommendation, i get the bad luck. SOME FUCKTARD VALET CURBS MY PASSENGER SIDE RIMS THE NEXT DAY...... aigoooooo my fault for valeting. NEVER VALET YOUR CAR!!! -

I would not use this service again. They didn't seem too worried about providing customer service or securing my future business, and the results were so-so. Here are a few things that's threw me:
* When I requested the Yelp (not-so) special--$150 for an exterior/interior detail--they told me there's an automatic $50 pet hair upcharge. That's a 33% increase--without even seeing the car.
* When I tried to downgrade to just an exterior detail to avoid the $50 upcharge, I was advised that a MINI Cooper counts as a "full-size" vehicle, not a small one. Of course, the full-size exterior detail runs $150, the same as the Yelp special for exterior/interior.
* The mini detail I ultimately got was only OK, and if I were really meticulous, possibly sub-par. I could still see streaks on some of the the interior surfaces. -

So I decided to get my car detailed some where close to downtown. There are many to choose from so I decided to bring it to the Detail Factory. I hate cleaning my car but I know where all the little knicks and scratches are and needed someone to buff those out as well as pay attention to the fine details. After reading reviews I was pretty confident that this place was going to be good, but you never know.
Chris there took real good car of my car. The attention to detail was very good. I even asked them to see if they could help me get those scratches and knicks out and after getting their full service detail they definitely made it seem like it never existed.
Its like a make over for your car, so if you love your car and the way it looks bring it here, you wont regret it. -

I went here last week to have my new "pre-owned" car detailed. When I test drove the car it was perfect but after a few hours of driving the car I started to notice a really funky smoke smell. After doing some competitive shopping online I decided to go to Detail Factory. He quoted me $125 for the interior detail. When I got there I decided to have them do the inside and outside for me. When I came to pick my car up (2 hours sooner than the time frame he quoted) I was blown away. It was beautiful. The detail job was much nicer than the one that the dealer had done. The inside was immaculate as well. All of the dust in the cracks that the dealer left behind was gone. The smoke smell wasn't all the way gone but much much better. He pointed out some burn holes in different places and offered some suggestions on how to get them repaired. What really made me feel comfortable about my choice was his continued extension of the service. He suggested that I come back in a few days to have him re-treat the inside since the removal of smoke odor is stubborn and takes care over time to remove. That small offer made me feel that he was genuinely committed to helping me with this problem. He also offered a bulk discount on standard washes which I am going to take advantage of. I highly suggest these guys.

I have to honestly say I was a bit skeptical about leaving my car in such a shady looking garage but once I saw how immaculate they left my lexus I was happy with the results. The guys there are really thorough and really take pride in their work. I got a chance to meet the owners and they are down to earth people that you can really relate too. Aside from all that the pricing is a lot better then other places I've been too and when it comes down to it I rather pay lesser and get more bang for my buck. Keep up the good work guys!

The 100.00 complete detail is a bargain for the price, my M3 looked as good as new and they even did some stuff for me that I did not excpect, and did not have to pay for, like a couple of touch-ups and a wet sand to get some red paint off my fender. Bonus star for the chihuahua guard dog.

I took my 2007 Tundra CrewMax there for full exterior and interior detail (for the winter season). Chris, the owner, personally inspected my truck and recommended what he thought was needed. He wasn't pushy or trying to sell me something outrageous. Just a simple detail without leaving me broke. The shop did an excellent job. My truck isn't the easiest thing to detail given its size, especially the interior. They cleaned every seam in the truck, even opening up the map holder next to the shifter that most detail shops don't know about, and wiped all the crumbs that were stuck in the cracks. I left the shop with a perfectly clean, shiny, and DRY truck. I highly recommend this place!

Not impressed by their professionalism. I made an appointment with my name and number, then when I got there, they did not have the appointment written down, or my information. They had no other appointments, and no other customers there, so did not seem like a big deal at the time, but proved to be prescient. Told me they would be done in 4 hours, around 2:00, because his other employee was nowhere to be found, and he was not sure when or if he was coming in.
3:00 comes around, and I call them and ask what's up. They tell me that it will be an hour, hour and a half or so, but they will call me the minute it's done.
5:00 comes around, and I figure I should just walk over there and see what's up. I go down there, the guy that was there earlier is gone, and someone else is there. He's working on some equipment, definitely not my car. I tell him I'm here for the Civic, and he tells me, yea, it's done. I ask him how long it's been done, and he tells me a half an hour. The other guy that I originally was dealing with had left, and never called me.
The only reason they get two stars instead of one is that the car was pretty clean, although their were some dust bunnies stuck to the dashboard that got overlooked.
Not going back, to be sure.
