Review from Gus F.
Ok, this is the sister restaurant for Ay Jalisco II and had dinner there last night.
Same great, moderately priced food and on Monday nights the Margaritas are $2.50 and they are really, really good. Just the ones on the rocks, not the frozen ones.
But, I have to admit the service at this location is nowhere near as good as Ay Jalisco II. We kept having to flag down the waitress and that always irritates me.
Bottom line on this location of Ay Jalisco? Same good food, poor service. -

I hate to write a bad review as we found this place years ago and have been fans ever since. The food is still very good...not 5 star but very good and filling. Recently though there have been some changes that will probably deter me from going back anytime soon:
1. the last 2 times we went, we requested a certain booth and a waitress (same one both times) got really angry. I am assuming she was supposed to be our waitress and this messed things up somehow. The second time she just handed us the menus at the door and huffed off. I have worked my whole life in the service industry and I was just shocked.
2. twice I have requested "no tomatoes, extra lettuce." (yes, I'm a Jersey girl and I hate tomatoes...that used to kill my father). Both times I was charged for the (iceberg) lettuce. Ok, I can deal with that even though a little strange but, here's the kicker, both time I received no extra lettuce. I have dined there often enough and I am a boring person and order the same thing almost every time so I do know. Once I received the bill with the charge, most of the meal is gone so how do I point and say, ""what extra lettuce????"
Anyway, being made to feel uncomfortable because you want a certain table and being charged for something you do not receive does not make for a nice evening,. -

Sunday evening we were quickly seated and greeted with warm chips and 4 star salsa. Drink orders taken and swiftly delivered. There is a very full menu with the entire range of Mexican choices. The Carné Asada was fabulous as was the Arroz con Camarones. The service was fast and attentive. I would highly recommend this establishment and will definitely return.

Really more Tex Mex than Mex Mex! Good rice and beans. The Chili Relleno was great the taco was hamburger with very little spice. Their salsa was chunky and flavorful. My wife had the seafood enchiladas and thought they were delicious with a good blend of shrimp crab and scallops. If your looking for authentic Mexican food the only thing that would fit that bill was the Tacos Al Pastor. Good service and chips and salsa
