There is a funny story that goes with this review but I think it speaks to the level of service that you get from this florist.
-When I was dating my soon-to-be ex-wife, I wanted to send her flowers and I didn't really no of any good florists. I looked in the Yellow Pages and found a ad for Axelrod and Bennett. I called and had the flowers sent. Every once in a while she would send me something gift basket for my birthday or special occasion. What we hadn't realized initially, she was using the same place I was. The one time I called one year after using this florist, the woman that takes the orders over the phone - began to recognize us and thought it was funny that we had stumbled onto the same florist. She would comment and make special recommendations. They delivered promptly and took care of all my needs.
I have used this florist for over 10 years now. While they probably wonder why they haven't heard from me.. I look forward to the day I can send flowers to someone new and enjoy the service again -

My mom ordered flowers for me through 1-800-flowers and the order was filled by this florist. The delivery person arrived at my office and saw a note on the door telling our clients we were closed, turned around and left without trying the door (which was open) or seeing through the window that the lights were on and three people were sitting there.
Someone from the shop called and spoke to my coworker about our being closed. My coworker explained we were closed to the public, but we were there working. The person from the shop asked why we were closed if we were there. I wasn't aware the florist was supposed to judge your business.
The delivery man turned around to actually deliver. Upon seeing me, he yelled, "what aggravation!" and when he handed me the flowers, he told me that we should have had a sign on the door that said we were there. Perhaps I will try that next time I receive a SURPRISE DELIVERY.
Honestly, I would only use this florist if you want to inflict rudeness upon the recipient. It totally took away from my birthday surprise.
And to make matters worse, there was a ton of extra water in the plastic wrap. It dripped all through my office and on my shoes. One final gift.
