I was visiting relatives in California for Christmas. Like all good
FIlipinos, we had the essential lechon(roast pig) for dinner. As I
happily bit into the crispy skin, I felt a bad crunch. I had chipped a
bottom front tooth. I am very conscious about my teeth so I wanted to
get it fixed ASAP before it would get worse. Dr Miranda was highly
recommended by my family and she was able to accommodate me with little notice. She even fit me into her day-even though her office was due to close early! Talk about great customer service!! She took care of my tooth and allayed any fears that I had about the chipping. She even did a quick examination and let me know that everything was
a-ok(times like these my type-a behavior pays off).
I wish they had an office in New York, because I would definitely go. I was disappointed that she didn't have any recs for NY based dentists. I will definitely be looking for a similar experience in NY. Now that I've been to Awesome Smiles, my standards are higher and all those other dentists better step up to the plate! -

Personally, I've been through many dentists for many years. I've gone through dentists since I was 7 years old when my sweet tooth became my weakness, and now my demise. From below average service and mediocre results. None have made it great to see a dentist until I walked into Dr. Miranda's office. I underwent the first phase of a root canal with Dr. Miranda very recently. The procedure went by with a breeze. All I did was loosen my jaw and she went in and did phase one of a root canal. Other dentists exacerbated my visit with them when they've tried to seemingly push off against my jaw. I have a small mouth, and I don't feel comfortable with people especially professionals trying to make a painful process even worse, and for those of us who don't feel comfortable going in for dental work.
Dr. Miranda eliminated an anticipated dreadful visit for me. I feel more confident in going in to see a dentist, after my visit with her and the procedure. The staff was friendly. One aspect that stood out for me was the video breakdown of the procedure. I haven't gone through a dental office where the procedure was explained at all. They explained the procedure in a short 5 minute video, which is great!
Overall, I give it a 5-star rating as a dental office. Great doctor, great staff and great atmosphere.Listed in: recommendations

Awesome Smiles staff and dentists are awesome. Everyone makes you feel like family once you walk in the doors. They are very mindful of any fears or apprehensions you may have, and they carefully explain in detail the procedures and reasons to why they are doing what they are doing to your teeth. The equipment there is state-of-the art technology, so there's no more waiting for film x-rays.
I live in San Francisco and make the trek all the way to Livermore because of the great work and the staff. Dr. Miranda knows what she's doing and makes sure that you know, too. Another plus, they are upfront about costs so there's never any hidden fees unlike my last dentist in San Francisco. There are TV's to watch while you're in the chair, and if you don't like the sound of the drill, they have noise cancelling headphones that stream good music. What more can you ask for in a dentist? -

My original dentist was Dr. Yamaguchi (Yes..... Kristi Yamaguchi's dad!). He was a wonderful dentist and sadly, he retired back in 2001. So it was going to be challenge finding a legendary dentist like him.
For the past nine years I've been struggling with lousy dentists in my local area or by Yelp referrals. Here are my gripes:
- Hours and dates were not convenient for me.
- The time and attention was poor (sometimes they verbally insulted me and challenged my intelligence). Oh... if you know me well, you can guess what happened next!
- And for some reason, each lousy dentist was always drilling into my back tooth (I found this quite strange and wondered if they're just trying to make some money off me...my employer has a great dental plan).
Finally my best friend recommended his dentist in Livermore. At first I was like... Livermore? I live in San Jose! That's like 30-40 minutes away! "Don't worry, my dentist takes Saturday appointments" my best friend said. "She's the best!" I made note and waited about a month before making the call.
After two awesome dental appointments with Dr. Ann Miranda, I have say that she is the best! BEST KEPT SECRET THAT IS!!!
On our first appointment, she spent time listening to my past experiences and results from other dentists. This made it easy for me to voice my thoughts and expectations because I have sensitive teeth. Dr. Miranda listened and answered all my questions including running an investigation on my back tooth. Luckily, my back tooth is still in great shape and all I need was proper attention and guidance when brushing. I loved the fact that her staff spends quality time on cleaning my teeth - front and back scraping (getting all the stains out and keeping the enamel polished). This is a big deal for me. I'll be returning again and again..... regardless of the long drive. Hopefully in time, I can crown another legendary dentist.
PS... I'm part of the 80% of Americans that forget to floss each day. =P -

I'm originally from LA, but came up to the bay area to visit family. I was in dire need of a cleaning (long story: moving out of the country, insurance was running out, blah blah), so I dropped by Dr. Miranda's based on a relative's recommendation.
If only she was based in LA! Her office is clean and modern. She was able to squeeze me in last minute (i.e., customer service is great), and the cleaning was very thorough. She obviously cares a great deal about you and your teeth/gums...patiently listening to issues and making suggestions for possible follow-up items (without being pushy).
Two thumbs up! I'd def go back if I was in the area and had the time. -

I have an oral fixation and a little OCD about my teeth and gums... so I do try to get my teeth cleaning three to four times a year... the hardest thing is that my favorite dentist is in the bay area and I live in Long Beach.
I was introduced to Dr. Ann Miranda years ago while I was living in the Bay Area..and I had spent a month in the Bay so I decided to finally make an appointment with her for a cleaning..and I've been back to her ever since for the past few years now.. Yes, I make it a point to see her on a Saturday appointment when I'm in town.
Dr. Miranda and her staff are the consumate professionals - kind, caring and gentle. You don't feel like just another patient. They take their time with you, listen to your concerns and gentle with their work.
The office is very clean and modern with a zen-inspired feeling. Her equipments are state of the art.
Dr. Miranda is certainly the smiles queen!!! If you want amazing service, attentive staff and a caring dentist who gives you full attention, she is the dentist to visit. -

So the first plus for Awesome Smiles was that they let me reschedule my appointment very last minute without complaint. The office staff was friendly and I loved the assistants. However, my cleaning was more stressful than usual for me and was pretty intense. But is was thorough and well done.

The Dentist office's title speaks for itself because this place is awesome!! The outside appearance does the place no justice and can easily be missed, but once inside its pure dental paradise. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The staff also uses the latest technology unlike other outdated traditional dentists I have seen. I am proud to consider Awesome Smiles my new Dental Home.

I have been thru a few dentists so far in my life. From private practice dentists to military dental clinics. Dr. Miranda is by far the best dentist I've come across. Why you say? The clinic is very welcoming. The staff is friendly & courteous. They attend to your needs as soon as possible. Dr. Miranda's root canal procedure felt like a breeze. I dreaded going through a root canal but Dr. Miranda and her assistants made me feel as if I had just undergone a cleaning & filling appointment. I recommend Dr. Miranda and awesome smiles dental 100%. Thanx Dr. Ann!

I have gone to Dr. Uy-Miranda for a few procedures within the past year and each visit, for the lack of a better word, has been great! Dr. Miranda and her staff deserve much praise because for one, I am terrified of the dentist .. till I started coming to Awesome Smiles Dental.
Dr. Miranda and her staff took every measure to make sure I was comfortable and relaxed during my visits. Everything about the dentist would make me nervous from the smell of a dentist office to the sound of the drills. At Awesome Smiles, headphones playing soothing music were given to me to drown the sound of the drills and aromatherapy oils put me at ease while in the chair. I have gone to many different dentist and I have never been to an office that paid this much attention to their patients.
My first root canal (ever) was with Dr. Miranda. Of course, I have heard many horror stories from friends about their root canal experiences which did not help my preparation for mine AT ALL! However, after my procedure, I can say I have a different sentiment. It was not nearly as bad as I had anticipated.
Awesome smiles, from an awesome doctor, with an awesome staff. I will definitely be coming here from now on and will be recommending others to Awesome Smiles Dental. -

Before anything else, I just have to admit that I have an irrational fear of dentists. This "phobia" was rooted (pardon the pun) from when my previous dentist did a bad job on my teeth. The long and short of it is that I don't want to go through anything like it anymore and, because of that experience, I couldn't step into a clinic without my anxiety escalating to near panic!
Awesome Smiles Dental Care changed everything, for me. Walking into the clinic, I already felt so comfortable! Ordinarily, I would begin to hyperventilate, and show some signs of moderate anxiety, perhaps, but NONE of it happened! The atmosphere of the place was, somehow, soothing. I was calm and I felt welcome; it was tantamount to walking into the house of a good friend. These feelings were further solidified by Dr. Ann Miranda, herself, and her staff. They, genuinely, care about their patients. When it is your turn to be attended to, they make sure that you are comfortable and they address any misgivings that you may have, no matter how silly or trivial they may be (for example, ME). They inform you about whatever procedure that needs to be done, and they do it thoroughly, while allowing you to interact, such as if you have any questions or concerns. Their equipment is very sophisticated, plus, there are separate televisions to watch when you're on the chair. There is never a dull moment in this clinic. My experience at Awesome Smiles Dental Care is a far cry from my other dental visits. I look forward to my appointments now, and there isn't a sliver of anxiety!
