Review from Dee B.
Chicago, IL
We live in the neighborhood and have stopped by twice to get things framed for our new, grown-up apartment. Avram is super friendly and helped us find a great frame for a poster, and figure out what to do with a tapestry. I like looking at the art on the walls when I walk past; I saw some pretty jewelry and might stop by soon to take a closer look. It's great to have a shop like this in the neighborhood.

Had a great experience both time we asked Avram to custom frame a few items for us. Even gave me a comparison between custom and stock frames with a yelp coupon. Usual turnaround is about two weeks for custom and he'll call you when it's done. Great selection, good suggestions, and reasonably priced!

What a great framing experience. Avram helped us figure out how to frame some silk screened concert posters, an original manga drawing and a set of four tiny prints. He was great at listening to what we wanted while also making suggestions about things that we hadn't even considered. I brought my 3 little kids along and Avram was very kid friendly and even gave them some paper and crayons to use while he helped me figure out our framing. It would be better to not bring the kids, but since I had no choice it was nice that Avram helped make it work. Overall a fantastic experience, and the art on the walls was super cool too.

Review from Kim A.

I love this gallery for it's great variety of quality art. There is always something cool to see there. The owner is so friendly! It is a very laid back atmosphere with no snootyness. I like to take my kids there and they like to go because the art changes every month or so. The gallery is also a frame shop and I have had several things framed there and they all came out beautifully. He takes the time to try out different matts and frames so that you get just the right look. His prices are also very reasonable. They also sell jewelry and scarves etc. There are good one of a kind gift items when you want something special.

History
Established in 2008
- Avram's framing adventures in Chicago started at a big-name company. He then struck out on his own by doing framing from his basement home studio. Avram and his wife, Lisa, are raising two children, and working from home allowed him to be a stay-home dad when the kids, now teens, were young. When Avram expanded his business into a studio loft, he started hosting art shows. In 2008, he moved to his current store-front gallery location. Combining a gallery with his framing business allows Avram to support and serve local artists, contribute to their work, and to surround himself with art he loves.
Meet the Business Owner: Avram E.
It wasn't until Avram was a junior in college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill that he took a drawing class and discovered his love and talent for art. He switched majors and graduated with a degree in art. During his time in Chapel Hill Avram also learned to crochet, a craft which brought together his love of color and texture and the skill of working with his hands. He put that craft to good use when, after graduation, he moved to New York and worked as a knitwear designer. He also garnered important studio experience in printmaking and silkcreening while in the Big Apple. But it wasn't until Avram became the manager of a framing department of a New York art supply store that he found his artistic niche.
