David's videotaping of my son's first birthday was definitely the best! Quality was beautiful and video shot in bubble lens style was artistic and entertaining and music he selected was the best. He actually shot my daughter's video five years ago which was excellent as well. I did not think there could be a better video until I saw my son's video last year. It's amazing! I'm very picky about these things as the parties I throw for my children's first birthdays are very fancy and I have been very lucky to have David capture everything important in the videos.
Thank you David for your outstanding work and really capturing the beautiful moments in my family's lives. -

We booked AVR for our wedding back in 2010. We fell in love with his work during our consultation. It was a stretch for us to fit him into our budget, but we made it work, even if it was the cheapest package.
The wedding day David and his son were great. They were on time and you couldn't even tell that they were filming. The AVR team was very professional.
Now, in the contract, they had up to either 10 or 11 months to get your video to you. We didn't get the video until AFTER our 1 year anniversary. We were sending emails and had phone calls in between. But it was taking forever to get the preview and then the video itself. When finally did get it, the picture insert on the DVD's had the wrong names on it! It took him awhile to send us new ones and when he did it wasn't even a picture that was really nice. I have yet to play the DVD's because it's been such a pain trying to get our videos on time.
I will say that the slideshow they did was wonderful and were pleasantly surrprised that they had coverage of the dancing part of our reception. I thought for sure they were already gone by that time because it was over the hours we booked them for.
I think they cater and prefer high-end brides/weddings. At least that was the feeling I got. I subscribed to their FB page and would always see their posts about their weddings and whatnot. Their FB page was always updated and the site to where you view your video was always updated as well. Which was hard for me to understand why it took so darn long to get our video. I just felt like they paid more attention to the couture brides.
I would have loved to give more stars because they do good work, but it was a nightmare getting our wedding video. They said it was a programming problem with their software, but I just have this gut feeling that it wasn't. -

We still don't have our wedding video from September 2010. David was recommended to us by our wedding planner. He was a bit late on our wedding day due to traffic, but stayed later. He followed us throughout the day and I think he caputured out wedding, but all we have to show for it is an external had drive with MAC files (when I specifically requested a PC format) and a cashed check. Yep. He took our money and ran. It's sad because we've seen his work. That is what sold us. i can't figure out why he wouldn't produce a finished product! Can anyone help us out on this? Suggestions? Even our wedding planner has contacted him with no luck.

The wife and I got married in September 2010, and now come March 2012, we can finally wash our hands of AVR. I can't deny the fact that David and the AVR team have a good reputation and are highly skilled as evidenced by many other five star reviews, glowing awards from reputable organizations and an awesome website. However, the experience we had as a whole made us feel like we worked with a totally different videographer and unfortunately constitutes a one star experience.
Throughout our experience, regardless of how positive and patient we tried to be in entertaining his requests from supplying a specified non-pasta vendor meal at our wedding to an extended working timeline for getting the video together, we never felt like there was as much passion as was sold to us being put forth towards our wedding video project. The totally disregarded sentiment is one that is evidenced in the quality of what was delivered to us as a draft and the degree of mistakes within it. The range of mistakes within the first draft spans from spelling my brides name wrong on the printed labels to including footage of the church ceiling. Another element of our wedding that was impacted by AVR was the complimentary wedding slideshow, in which all of the pictures were presented cropped and with straight side to side transitions; if this is something that we knew beforehand, we would have sought out other paid sources for that part of the wedding. In addition to what was delivered to us as a draft and eventual final product, the tone of communications to us post-wedding often came off as terse, sarcastic and irritated.
Having finally received raw footage from the wedding and a video with changes corrected to the first draft and nearly two years after our wedding, we are now walking away feeling like we were more of an annoyance and unqualified couple in his grand scheme of catering to couture brides. And based off the manner by which most of the post-wedding communications and eventual delivery of final products was carried out, it is pretty obvious he has more important priorities rather than seeing out service with a smile, at least in our case. -

We were completely satisfied and impressed as well as grateful to have been able to work with David Ethridge and his team.
Right from the start we looked at online videos and were drawn to the elegance, attention to detail, and comfortable transitions that AVR films displayed. We were then blown away by the genuine person that David is, the high quality of equipment that he uses, and his own personal integrity and passion for his work.
Before our wedding day, he took the time to get to know us and understand the kind of wedding ceremony and reception we were planning. He arrived early at our site to make sure he could capture footage of the winery and did some really creative shots like a time lapse of the sun setting and stars/moon coming out. Throughout the day the entire AVR films team (3 videographers) were never obtrusive and worked seamlessly with our other vendors. One of the great things about AVR films is that their equipment allows them to take high quality photos in the midst of their filming.
By the next day David had uploaded over 100 beautiful images of our wedding on facebook that we were able to share with our friends and family. We received many compliments on how artistically the pictures had been taken. A week later we had planned an East Coast reception and David was able to put together a video of our vows that we could show to our guests. He went above and beyond by staying up all night to make the necessary edits.
It was about a month before our wedding that we found out a co-worker had also worked with AVR films for her sister's wedding and highly recommended them for their flawless work and calming presence. We felt confident that we were in good hands and our experience has confirmed this and exceeded our expectations in every way.
Thank you David for capturing the beauty of our special day, you have our highest recommendation. -

Thinking of only getting a photographer and no videography? Think again! I hope by the end of my review, I have convinced you that you should contact Dave Ethridge and AVR!
Words cannot express how HAPPY we are to have hired Dave and AVR to be our videographers for our March 2011 wedding. We first met Dave about 2 years before our wedding, Dave is an incredibly nice person, who 100% loves what he does and cares about your wedding! (I contacted several other videographers and none of them seemed to care as much as Dave.) His equipment is also top notch! ;)
Two years came and went, next thing we knew it was our rehearsal. Dave showed up promptly and I was in for a treat. First off, Dave showed up with some extra fancy gear...a sliding camera on rails. YEP! He brought in MOVIE equipment...told you his gear was top notch! He spares no expense when it comes to filming your wedding!!! Second, he was extremely professional and he is so good at what he does, it didn't even seem like he was in the room, at times. Third, it was so nice to have someone there to film your rehearsal :) (None of the others I spoke to offered this service in their packages.)
Wedding day came and Dave surprised us again! He brought along Brian and Ryan Black! WE ARE SO THANKFUL TO HAVE EACH OF THEM AT OUR WEDDING...THANKS DAVE!!! :) This trio of videographers were AWESOME to work with - professional, nice, fun, and they work so hard and truly enjoy their craft! My husband and I cannot wait to see their video and cannot THANK them enough for being there to capture on video every moment part of our day, especially me!
My husband surprised me with a harpist for the ceremony. However, I was Captain Obvious and completely didn't notice her until my husband pointed her out during the recessional. When I found out, I gasped in shock and had the world's ugliest cry! In retrospect, I am SO HAPPY that we hired Dave and his team, because I get to hear my walk down the aisle to the harpist that I didn't hear the first time and then I get to relive my wonderful surprise!
Not to mention, Dave was there to capture our ceremony, speeches, toasts and other moments I'm sure I missed because our day went by so fast!
And did I mention that Dave and his team are extremely detail oriented. They took the time and patience to capture every detail we had in our wedding - our Lego Eiffel Tower foyer, our wedding stationary, our wedding jewelry, my dress (he spent a good 10 minutes or more on it), my shoes, etc.
To make this long review short. Want my advice?
Hire a videographer, but not any videographer...hire AVR. They are like ninjas with a videocamera. And the best part, they are the nicest, coolest, people to work with! You won't regret it!!!
THANKS AGAIN, Dave, Brian and Ryan for being there to capture such a magical day for us!!!! :) Cannot wait to see our video!!! -

When I first met David my mother was sold. We met him at a Bridal Fair where he is able to talk himself into being hired. David is a very nice person and has a good pitch that makes brides feel as if they could not not have him at their wedding. He claims to capture every moment so as for the bride and groom to experience what they missed on the actual day.
For the wedding day itself, David did fine, I didn't notice him being in the way or anything of that nature. However, he is very "particular" and refuses to eat vendor meals. Really? You are working not there to eat.
Reading the contract is something that I really recommend. David wants to be paid in full, but will take over a year to actually complete your video. I would fight this if I were you. Never pay someone in full until you receive your product.
After the wedding we didn't hear from David for a very long time. When I emailed him to check in to see how the progress was going he told me that he thought it would be done by Thanksgiving, which was about 8 months later. Of course that was not the case. He finally had a copy ready for us to look at in late Feb. So 11 months later. This was the first time we had ever seen ANY of the footage he shot at the wedding. When picking up the video of course he thought it was perfect. Let me assure you IT WAS NOT. Transitions were bad and it was simply incomplete.
It took 5 times of my husband and I combing through the video giving specific times in order to get the video to the quality in which I thought I was getting when I hired him. Also, when asking about footage, everything I asked about he claimed to not have. He had multiple cameras so that he could "CAPTURE IT ALL".
I finally got my video, 16 months after the fact.
He cancelled meetings, told me to come get my video and wasn't there, took a long time to respond, couldn't follow written Lists of what to change, and was simply not the professional he sells himself to be for the actual wedding. Everything he said wouldn't take him long took at least a MONTH.
Maybe he treats the clients who only can afford the minimum package this way, but I was extremely frustrated trying to work with him after getting the video. It also takes WAY TOO LONG in my personal opinion.Comment from David E. of AVR Films 10/2/2011

Dave's sons, Brian and Mitch, filmed our wedding this past weekend at Nestldown. When we were looking for videographers, every single person we talked to recommended A Video Reflection. Unfortunately, Dave had just booked a wedding for our weekend when we contacted him, but he was so kind in offering to have his sons shoot the wedding and we immediately agreed!
Brian and Mitch were incredibly professional, and at the same time, really fun to be around. They were attentive and careful to catch every special moment, but we hardly noticed they were there. It's clear how much they care about their work, which really meant a lot to me and my now husband.
We were beyond impressed with A Video Reflection and recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding videographer. We are so excited to see the finished product! -

I just signed a contract with A Video Reflection. The owner, David Ethridge, has been a pleasure to work with and very understanding of our culture. My fiance is Japanese and I'm Assyrian so we want to make sure both cultures are represented in the video. We visited over five vendors with a list of questions and concerns. David answered all of them and made us feel so comfortable. He was also great with working with our budget and talking things through. My fiance and I watched weddings he had done in the past and you can tell he and his crew put a lot of effort and time into each piece. I'm excited about this vendor for our wedding and will keep you posted as the day approaches and we receive the final deliverable.
If you are searching for a wedding videographer give A Video Reflection a call. You will be impressed by the level of professionalism, creativity and experience. -

I met David and his son while shooting a wedding this past weekend at Santana Row. Often videographers and photographers are competing for the same angles and constantly manage to get in each others' way. David introduced himself to me before the ceremony, and wanted to make sure where he was placing cameras was not going to interfere with what I had planned. He was very courteous, affable, and a delight to work with. I love it when vendors are professional, yet laid back - as it's as much their job to *not* add stress for the bride and groom on their big day as it is to do stellar work. I can't speak for David's end results as I haven't seen them, but he seemed highly competent, and you truly can't survive in the biz for 25 years without having a fair amount of talent under your belt.

Dave is absolutely wonderful. He exudes professionalism and passion in his all his work. He was so easy to work leading up to the wedding, during the wedding, and after. Our guests were telling us that he was everywhere they turned capturing every moment. My husband and I hardly noticed him all night because he was so unobtrusive. I did laugh at one point though when I saw a bright light above the dance floor. I looked up and saw him on top of a ladder with his camera extended out over the crowed. He definitely went our of his was to get the party on camera.
I highly recommend the "Love Story" slide show. He did a spectacular job putting together the photos of us growing up and picking the perfect music to go along with it. The guests loved it so much that they were asking for copies of it.
No matter how much or little you want to spend on your wedding day, you MUST include A Video Reflection in your budget. If we hadn't, it would have been our biggest regret. -

I would definitely recommend David Ethridge, at AVR Films, as your wedding videographer. David and his team members are all so friendly, flexible and easy to work with. My husband and I decided to do a special revealing prior to our ceremony and take some of the family and bridal party pictures early. David went out of his way to come early to insure he captured every aspect of our wedding day. David had a team of assistants with him as well to make sure all of the details were covered. He had his assistant videotaping our guests at cocktail hour while he was with us getting our portrait shots. He and our photographer worked together to create such fun romantic pictures of my husband and me. David created an album of still pictures he captured using his camera and they are incredible. I can't wait to see the finished video in just a few weeks! Thank you very much David for all your hard work!

First I want to say; Dave you are such a pleasure to work with, not only can one tell that you are very talented, but it shows that you love what you do! From the very first time that we contacted you and meet with you, we knew that we were in great hands. It was like we have known you for years; you made our family members and bridal party comfortable to be in front of the camera.
Capturing every moment without a heavy presents!
You're Professionalism and creativeness set the tone from the minute we arrived, up until our special day ended. We are so looking forward to viewing, the wonderful way you captured our special day.
We feel that this was one of the best investments we made on wedding day.
We look forward to highly recommending AVR Films to every couple we know! -

I could not wait to have my wedding day filmed by A Video Reflection! All my life I grew up watching "A Wedding Story" on TLC, and I wanted my wedding day to be filmed in the same, sentimental, story-book like way. My dream came true. My husband and I, and our families love, love, love our wedding day video! We watched it three times the first weekend we received it.
It is soo nice to have our video to capture all the memories, moments and feelings and emotions that we felt, saw and heard on our wedding day! I have those captured forever now to share.
David and his assistant, who is his son, were very professional and I have to admit, just like your other clients have said before, I didn't even know you were there with the camera on the wedding day! It felt so natural and the final product has my friends, family, and husband and I looking like movie stars and professional models! LOL.... We LOVE IT! We were oh so Glamorous!
Thank you for capturing memories that I will cherish forever, from my emotional rehearsal (which is awesome because most wedding videographers do not tape your rehearsal and this is included), the anticipation and excitement of getting ready, my father walking me down the aisle, my husband's and my vows, priceless speeches at the reception, and more! It just couldn't have been better!
It's worth every penny and more! Thank you, David and A Video Reflection!

First let me say it's a pleasure to have David and his son Brain shooting wedding for us. He's such a wonderful person to talk to. He's very knowledgeable, very creative and very passionate. He also came one day earlier shooting rehearsal for us as well. On the wedding day he came really early to shooting makeup and hair for bride and bridal party.
His sense of artistic is amazing. He was attentive and careful to catch very special moments during the wedding, It shows how much he cares about his work, which really meant a lot to us.
We cant wait for the final production and it would be a blast to share that with our family and friends. We feel this is the best investment we made on our wedding day.
We will definitely recommend AVRfilms to everyone we know. -

I recently saw Dave's "day of" edits at a Bridal Show at the Hotel Shattuck in Berkeley. The film was shot the evening prior at a large Indian wedding and shown that evening. I was blown away at the shots and how absolutley amazing they looked.
It rained the day of the Wedding, which probably was a disapointment in the moment, but it looked amazing on film. The style reminded me of "The Septmeber Sessions" by Jack Johnson. It was shot very artsy, and everyone in the film looked very beautiful.
Dave is a very charismatic, kind, down to earth guy. Just the type of individual you want around you on the day of your Wedding. His prices are very reasonable for what he's offering, especially when you factor in the quality of equipment that he's using and the amount of hours invested in editing the final product. -

David was referred to me by my wedding coordinator, Jason Diavatis. From the start, I could tell that David was an incredible referral. Just speaking to him on the phone, you can tell that he really, really knows his stuff. And seeing what he put together at my wedding, well the final production just proves that he is an incredible videographer with an unbelievable sense for capturing moments.
I really wanted to show a same-day-edit video at my reception. However, my ceremony and reception were separated by a short, hour long cocktail hour. Most of the videographers I spoke to said that a same-day-edit was impossible, given that I wasn't giving them enough time to edit in between the ceremony and the reception. However, David never said such things. He had to work very hard I'm sure, but he ended up showing a timeless, impressive, and very emotional same day edit at the reception that most videographers couldn't put together even if they had days to do so. From the minute that David arrived in the morning, until the end of the reception, he was always working with precision and focus. He really gets engaged into each event that he shoots, and whenever I felt like there was something that I wished was being videographed, I turned around and David was right there, filming away :)
Finally, David exhibited a lot of flexibility and genuine care during my wedding time. For example, I told him that the groom was actually getting ready off site at another hotel. I told him this hours before the event, yet David had no trouble with adjusting his schedule so that he could get some film footage at the hotel as well. Also, he originally was going to leave about 30 minutes before the end of the reception, per my initial request. However on the day of the wedding, I ended up asking him to stay until the very end to capture a very special sparkler exit. His reaction to my request was "Cool! Absolutely and thanks for telling me so I can get that footage!" He was very agreeable, and really showed a lot of genuine care to make sure that I got exactly the video that I wanted. I was so, so happy to have David on my wedding team. Such a professional, yet so easy to talk to and get along with! -

I was referred to Dave by my wedding coordinator Duncan Reyes and we pretty much hired him after our first conversation! Right off the bat you can tell Dave had a great personality. He is so easy to talk to and is thorough on explaining everything whether about his style, his vision, or the equipment (which is all top of the line. Not only does he capture video, he also captures still photos! What more can you ask for?). We had a fantastic experience with him as our videographer, from our Love Story shoot to our tear-jerker slide show and now we cannot WAIT to see our wedding footage! Thank you Dave, Brian and Richard you guys were more than awesome - you guys made it an EPIC wedding! Thank you guys for capturing our dream day, staying with us all day and hanging with our crazy crew of a Bridal Party LOL. WE LOVE AVR FILMS! and fellow Brides out there, you will too! Do not underestimate the value of video ladies and gents. Not only are photos left with you after all is said and done, video can turn back time and bring you back there again...

Dave and his son filmed our wedding in Half Moon Bay last year and we were happily overwhelmed by how much emotion and memories were brought back when we watched our video (numerous times in one day!). Dave, in his natural and unobtrusive style, captured everything, even tiny details that we had forgotten. And it was edited to perfection. From the music he used, to how crisply you could hear the ceremony and toasts, it was more than we had ever expected. And the presentation of the DVD was superb.
We couldn't have asked for more from a videographer! Highly recommended! -

Dave and his crew are amazing! They work hard to capture every moment and do such a beautiful job which allows brides/grooms to remember the smallest details of their big day. Like all brides I ran around all day and often missed special moments, we are so grateful to have our wedding video to look back on for years to come.
Dave and his team are thoughtful, professional and very easy to work with...we went the entire wedding and hardly noticed they were present!!! It is evident that Dave LOVES what he does and the end product reflects his passion.
I loved the visual effects used in my video...no two segments were the same which made it that much more interesting. Our video brought me to tears, I really love the Bridal section showing myself get ready!!! He also did a sunset segment that took my breath away!!!
In short I would recommend A Video Reflection to any bride looking for an amazing videographer!!! -

My wedding was in the beginning of May and I can't tell you how wonderful Dave Ethridge with AVR Films was. Dave was referred to me by my wedding coordinator; and it was a great referral. From the first time I met Dave he was so kind and willing to work with all my bridal needs. From the day of rehearsal to the end of the wedding Dave was very professional and always using his creative touches to get great footage. Getting married at Nestldown, one of the most important things I wanted for my video is to capture all of the beautiful property; and that is exactly what Dave did. Any extra time he had was caught filming the trees, landscape, ponds and guests.
Dave made me feel so comfortable on my wedding day. He had a great attitude and I knew that I had nothing to worry about on our special day. Him and his crew were great working with the bridal party, kids, guest and my timeline. They were willing to travel wherever I needed them and were very accomdating. The most important thing I can walk away with from my wedding is how important it is to have a great videographer; it completes your whole day and now I have the chance to watch footage of our wedding for many years to come.

We are absolutely thrilled about our wedding video David with the AVR produced for us. We can't wait to share this with our family and friends and especially those who could not make it to our wedding. And I am sure we will be watching this video on our every anniversaries and re-live the moments.
We hired AVR for our wedding at the Thomas Fogarty Winery based on a recommendation from our wedding coordinator.
David was on time, professional and fun to work with. He and his son is a great team. They put all of us at ease in front of their cameras on an otherwise very busy and hectic day.
We think his fee is very reasonable for the work that he puts in and for the quality of end product you get.
We highly recommend David and AVR to our friends and family.
Thank you very much, David, for the beautiful memories! -

David and his staff filmed our wedding on 7.10.10. I chose David after interviewing no less than 7 other highly regarded local videographers. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. He is the best in the bay area and a pleasure to work with. I cannot wait to see the final video. Why?
1) He is genuinely kind and so very understanding. He was so sensitive to our needs. My now husband and I are from two different cultures and we needed someone who could capture two ceremonies and be culturally sensitive. David more than delivered.
2) He is a true professional--David met with me and my husband on multiple occassions, he was always accessible and promply returned phone calls, emails and text messages, he came to the rehearsal (very important, especially since we had two ceremonies), he even helped direct our (large) wedding party on their movements and locations during the ceremony. It goes without saying that he was ontime, well-dressed, did not get in the way of the wedding guests or the wedding party when performing his work, had the best equipment, etc. He even sent me a list of recommendations and helpful hints for the big day.
3) David goes the extra mile--exactly a week after my wedding, my aunt was traveling oversees to visit my grandmother. David managed to get me an EDITED version of both ceremonies as well as the decor so that my 80 year old grandmother who was unable to attend could see my wedding. His effort is amazing especially since, he had multiple other weddings during the same 7 day span. He even made me an extra copy of the DVD so my husband and I could also see it too.
4) Even my husband (who was completely against having a videographer) said on multiple occasions how much he enjoyed working with David and how professional David and his team were.
5) David loves his work and it shows. I viewed several of his videos before signing on and they were all great.
6) David was incredibly helpful in recommending other vendors and helping me through the avalanche of wedding planning.
7) Attitude--David is fantastic. He got along with everyone. Seriously, everyone loved him. Not a single complaint. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to work with someone who is interested in making YOUR event video versus conducint his/her own agenda.
8) The best equipment--a videographer who invests in great equipment is one who invests in your future memories. I asked all the videographres I interviewed what equipment they use, what formats they deliver (Blue Ray, SD, etc.). In fact, another reason I highly recommend David is because he is the only person who took the time to explain to me the difference between SD and HD.
9) If David is available for your event date, please reserve immediately. -

I met Dave at a Wedding Expo and his love for his job just lit up his face...my mother and I stood there for probably half an hour as he told us how he loves weddings and making beautiful video's for his customers. David listened to everything I wanted, he suggested great ideas, he was so genuine! My family and guests at my wedding went on and on about how great he was at the rehearsal and when we got the video back, we were all amazed. We knew it would be great but I couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. I would recommend AVideoReflection (and of course David) to everyone I know! Our video is worth every penny! Thanks again Dave!

I came across David's website through http://www.herecomesth... and was very impressed with the technique, creativity and style of his wedding videos. They were unlike any others I have seen and had this elegance and glamour about them, which I was looking for. I contacted David immediately, made an appointment and was excited to meet him and watch the demos on a big screen. I booked him to film our wedding that day, which was 11 months before our wedding. David is exceptionally good at what he does and is booked months and months ahead, so my advice would be to act on it quickly!
David is very easy to work with. He is very kind, attentive and caring. On the day of the wedding he was independent, didn't need any guidance and knew where to be. He loves his work and takes into consideration the wishes of the couple and pays attention to details. My husband and I couldn't have been happier about his work. Our video lasts about two hours and captures all the incredible moments of the wedding. As part of the package, we received additional 10 hours of raw footage.
When we were leaving for a trip to visit family, we really wanted a copy of the movie to share with them. David drove to the airport at 4:30 in the morning and hand delivered it to us at the departure gate and we made our flight just fine! ( Not saying this is a normal part of his services, but we really appreciated the gesture.) Highly recommend him.
