Be still my beating heart... and no, it isn't from the excess caffeine :)

Aviano is simply amazing. They offer a true coffee house experience. You really can't compare Aviano to other coffee places. They offer a daily meny of Intelligentsia coffees that are each masterfully brewed using different brew methods. At their Pour-Over and Brew Bar, each cup of coffee is fresh made by hand with freshly ground coffee. They use different brew methods like V60 pour-overs, Chemex, French presses, etc... each method really masterfully opens up the characteristics of each coffee.

They also have an espresso bar. No automatic machines here! They make some of the best espresso beverages I've had. I loved the cappuccino I had.  Perfectly hand pulled shots, topped with beautiful rosetta.

Their indoor seating area is roomy and offers many different seating options. There are tables for your laptop and comfy chairs to read a book in. Their patio is also really nice.

So, why only four stars? I wish it was closer to home and the prices were a little cheaper... Their coffee is so good that I can't just have one cup!

My highest recommendation. This is the best coffee spot I've found in the Denver metro. The coffee is fantastic - completely blows Starbucks or any of the chains out of the water - and the staff really knows their stuff without sounding snooty. The only place I've found that I almost enjoyed as much is Coal Creek Coffee up in Laramie.

Treat yourself and get whatever they're serving from the Chemex. It's not exactly $1 a cup, but you get what you pay for. After a few sips of this coffee I decided to buy a Chemex and bring it home.

Finally found a great espresso cafe. One that takes pride in their espresso making and one where they actually know what a small macchiato or a long macchiato is.

The presentation of coffee with the latte art and how they serve the espresso to you on a wooden board with a glass of water is a great touch.

It's interesting because I noticed their coffee area resembles a bar more than a coffee shop. Which is cool. You'll understand if you have been there before.

So the espresso....let's face it. A lot of places get it wrong. The coffee would be burnt, over extracted or they have no idea.

Aviano has it down pat. Great aroma in the right size cup with great care taken.

Best espresso I have had in Denver.

LOVE this coffee spot. I work down the street and need a break everyday around 2pm on the dot. This is not only perfect walking distance, but also delicious coffee! As an iced black coffee drinker, I'm used to the hard stuff, but that doesn't mean it has to be so cold and bitter! Aviano's is cold yes, but the flavor is never bitter and always the pick me up I need.

Not to mention, they have a super cute patio and the boys that work there aren't bad either.

Oh, and the large? 24oz. YEP.

    Great location, chill vibe.

Came here to meet a friend on a Wednesday.  Plenty of chairs and tables inside as well as comfy couches to lounge in.  Seating is available on the outside as well so you can type away on your laptop in the gorgeous sun.

Everything here is freshly made.  I ordered a regular Ethiopian brew and the barista ground my coffee beans in front of me!  They also have a spectacular spread of muffins, sweet breads, and other baked treats.

I wish I got one of their famous lattes but I wasn't in the mood to get wild...no worries though, I'll be back.

It's in cherry creek, so there is that. But the coffee is phenomenal. Intelligentsia is wonderful coffee. Would be nice to see what they could do with some of the coffee actually roasted here in Colorado. The sign is somewhat deceiving since it says roasted daily, and that may very well be true, but it is not roasted here daily.

Because, I dont have a skinny jeans, a fixie and a mustache, dont assume I dont know my coffee...

I just moved from Seattle and have to say; if you are going to open a coffee shop in Cherry Creek, it is probably not a good idea to staff the joint with hipster, yuppie hating, elitist hipsters.  The coffee quality, given the effort and the time, was sub par.  And the attitude of the staff made the experience less than enjoyable.  Ill stick to Cafe Europa, Daz Bog or some of the other, more comfortable, shops.

Best coffee in Denver? We shall see about that!

And I did and yeah, their coffee is pretty bad ass. I usually grab a regular coffee anytime I go out to a chain establishment but when I visit the local places like to get a specialty drink. I went in yesterday and they had a good crowd for a Tuesday afternoon, which makes me wonder, what do these people do for a living that allow them to hang out at coffeehouses during the work day (yet they could also be asking the same about me!) Across from me was a gorgy French man and next to me a dude with a fedora and a bowtie, I felt like I was in a movie. I order a cappuccino and it was absolute perfection. I didn't even want to drink it because that's how beautiful looked. The kicker is that I was in Aviano, Italy this past September and it rivaled some of the cappuccinos I had there so this place is legit.

So why isn't this place five stars? Their so called wifi connection they have there. I specifically went for both a drink and to get some stuff done and couldn't get a decent connection. But that won't deter me from coming here again, I look forward to trying their carmel macchiato and other drinks!

Absolutely the best coffee in Denver and as good as just about anywhere I have encountered lately. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is very light and open. Only one caveat: If you are looking for decent Internet to get some work done, this is not the place. For some reason, I have not been able to connect to their own Internet for months. You can get a couple of other local hotspots, but the service is very slow. So, you can do some limited Internet work; anything beyond that is frustrating.
Update: They have assured me that this is going to be fixed.

"Plus the location isn't really convenient to me so I'm not sure how often I'll be visiting, but maybe I'll be back when I'm feeling like having a treat. "

Did I really say that? Only a couple of days ago? Well, I lied. I was back the next day. Granted, I needed to go to FedEx Kinkos and it was a across the street, but I decided to go to that location so I could get a coffee at Aviano.

They make an amazing cup of coffee and the people that work there are knowledgeable and friendly. I probably won't go that often, but I can see a coffee from Aviano becoming a treat 1-2 times a month.

I'm no way anywhere close to being an expert on coffee, but what a damn good cup of joe. Even through the breve and the vanilla ( I know fru fruie) the coffee flavor was excellent. The atmosphere was great. They have free ice water and dog treats. Although the large was only 16 ounces, I didn't mind at all. There flavor of superior ingredients was worth it. They have a wide selections of teas and look like they brew it in a cool way. Unfortunately they cant seem to do math early in the morning, the cashier tried to give me to much change back. I'm an honest guy do I have him the extra money back. I will defenatly be frequenting this coffee shop more often.

Decided to try Aviano while in the Cherry Creek area. It is talked highly of and wanted to see for myself.
I arrived around 5 thinking parking might be impossible. Luckily I was wrong and was able to park close. I brought the iPad to do some stuff while I enjoyed a good cup of joe.
The people behind the counter were really nice. I opted for the mocha in a mug so I could sit and sip. When I grabbed iover the counter I was so surprised at how pretty it was. I love latte art.
    The ambience was cozy.

    I love Aviano Coffee!

This place is in the heart of Cherry Creek North and is usually always busy at any time of the day.

I bought a 16oz cup of their India tea and it cost me 4 dollars and some odd cents.  I think it's a little steep for a cup of tea, but it was great tea and I believe all of the tea they have is organic which is a plus.

They claim to have handsome baristas, which for the most part is true.  The one who was preparing my tea even winked at me while he asked me to meet him at the other side of the bar.  Sexy.... HAHA!

Anyhoot, the place is quaint, and there are a number of people who work in the area who work there and a few laptop users as well.  It can get fairly loud sometimes but it's a pretty laid back place to have your beverage.

I never get there in time to enjoy a large selection of pastries, but I hope to get to try one soon.  They look delicious!

Checked out Aviano on a Sunday morning after hearing great things about it. I loved the coffee shop that was in the space prior to Aviano, which is a good thing because the decor was exactly the same. The menu board doesn't even fit over the old one. Everything looks out of place, like the space is far too big for what they are trying to be. I had a soy latte which was delicious, it better be after $5 and a 10 minute wait.

The quality of the coffee was no where near worth it.

I was recently in this neighborhood picking up some printed work and passport photos from the FedEx-Kinko's. It was early and I was in need of some coffee when lo and behold across the street I see a sign advertising Intelligentsia coffee.

    I immediately became very excited.

See, when I lived in LA Intelligentsia Coffeebar made some of my very favorite coffee. I would often do interviews and other miscellaneous work from the Silver Lake location. Now, if you don't know, Silver Lake is where all the self-respecting hipsters in LA go and/or live. And that's why I find it ironic that the Denver coffee shop that sells Intelligentsia is in Cherry Creek - quite possibly the least hipster neighborhood in all of Denver. But, perhaps this is so ironic I just don't get it? Either way, I can't say I care - I'm just glad to have an option to have this coffee here in Denver.

Intelligentsia serves coffee the is single cup brewed. I always love having it made because it feels a bit mad scientist-y - there are glass pots of water, large funnels of coffee grinds, a "perfect" mixture between the two depending on the size cup you get. And the flavor is phenomenal.

I'm not sure if Aviano was serving Intelligentsia before or not because the last time I visited this shop was when it was still on Lincoln, but I'm awfully glad to see them serving it now, regardless.

I was in the Denver area for business and had a half hour to kill before meeting a colleague.  So I popped in here to have a quick cup of tea.  Very cool place, nice decor, plenty of comfy seats, outdoor patio.  It was full of people on laptops as pretty much every coffee house is these days - whatever happened to conversation :-(

They have a wide variety of teas all beautifully presented.  They serve Intelligensia coffee - not a coffee drinker, but I understand from friends that it's a tasty cup!

Cool spot - nice change from the chain Buckstars places.

This is a great coffee shop.  I was very upset when Peaberry left this space, and I like this place better.  There was a small independent coffee shop in Chicago where I spent more time and money than I care to imagine.  This place reminds me of that.

The beverages are perfect.  The food is typical plastic-wrapped unimaginative fare (banana bread, etc).  The only cons are that it's a little loud, and that one of the baristas seems to think everyone wants to hear him sing.  First, we dont.  Second, your voice isn't that great...but kudos for knowing every lyric on your iPod.  I kept hoping you would get stumped...

Great coffee though.  Hands down the best coffee in Cherry Creek.  (Ink is #2, imho)

I'm not a coffee snob (I willing go to Starbucks, and often) but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy things that taste great. The coffee and chai I had at Aviano was great.

First I had a latte with skim milk. Perfect amount of foam, super smooth, rich flavor and nothing harsh or bitter. I also tried my coffee snob friend's La Tortuga (not decaf - we're not crazy) pour over. Also awesome. I like how Aviano separates the pour over and latte section of the cafe so baristas can focus and specialize.

Next visit I had the Bhakti chai. It's made by a local woman with fair trade ingredients. But really important it is good! If you like ginger you will love love love this chai.

Lastly we got whole beans to make coffee at home - the Intelligentsia La Tortuga from Honduras and the Ecco Organic Nicaragua Finca El Caliche. They were both less than a week from roasting. Delish!

Classic moment at Aviano Coffee today.  Former Governor Dick Lamm trying to have a conversation with a woman but being drowned out by the blaring alternative music only the hipster barristas get.  Lamm had to ask the hipster to turn down the music and the hipster, having NO IDEA who he was talking to, grudgingly did so. What is the owner of this place thinking?  Great location, great coffee, great big blind spot.

This is the coffee place I have been searching for since I moved to Denver.

No, it's not hard to find; I just did not know it existed until a couple of weeks ago.

They make coffee for coffee snobs! That doesn't mean the casual coffee consumer won't be pleased, it just means if you turn your nose up at 12oz cappuccinos you will be pleased when you come here.

    Their espresso is actually tasty!

Their cold brew is like sweet, liquid crack, just like you wanted.

Getting to Cherry Creek is generally a pain in the ass but it's well worth it for this brew.

I had a business meeting here the other day. Seems like a nice little coffee shop, but it was extremely busy the day I was there. We had to grab some chairs and set them up by the counter in the corner. I tried the spicy chai that they have. It was very different from what you'd get at a Starbucks, but it was pretty good.

Aviano is a very Denver-esque coffee shop in the upscale 2nd Ave Cherry Creek district. The service is good, the prices are low, and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed.

All of the joe is pour over, so be prepared to drink something a bit better than your average cup. They also offer a few baked goods, but do not expect anything too out of the ordinary. My $1 day-old almond croissant  was alright.

The daily special El salvador was sweet and smooth. It was really affordable at $2,50 a small. Great deal for PO joe,

If you want something local and great for people watching, this joint is your go-to spot.

The location is a little strange because there are hipsters working inside but it's located in the wealthy Cherry Creek area. There's metered street parking, so go on a Sunday and it's free! There's plenty of seating, and lots of seating outside as well.

A lovely cortado and a fantastic cup of Zirikana, Rwandan coffee brewed fresh through the pour over. It is nice to walk into a place and have them know exactly what you are asking for when you ask for a cortado. Serving Intelligentsia coffee automatically sets a bar high for a coffee shop and can be a hard reputation to live up to, Aviano does it very well.

Of corse their are always improvements to be made for any business and every individual has their preferences but to judge a place strictly on your preferences and little nit picky annoyances, like the fact that they don't want to ruin a GREAT espresso by serving it to you in a paper togo cup or how they weren't playing your favorite "TOP 40" Lady Gaga mix on the radio, is absolutely ridiculous.

PLEASE judge a place on how well they are doing what they are trying to do.

I will be back to Aviano in the future.

When I heard there was a personalized drip coffee spot in Denver I had to try it out. I opted for the coffee of the day which I think was called "micay" from Colombia. The small was $2, a medium $2.5

The coffee was excellent, and if you're a snob about your java I recommend giving this place a try. For the quality and service of the personal drip I didn't feel it was over-priced. I glanced at the espresso menu and a latte for $3.5 seems pretty standard to me as well.

I set up shop with my laptop to get some studying under my belt. I noticed I wasn't the only patron with a notebook, but several others were chatting over coffee.. personally, i like the mix.

My only qualm is paying for parking, which adds a dollar or two to your total if you plan to hang around. I think I'll just have to make it a sunday treat when metered parking is free.

I stopped by here recently with my wife for some iced coffee on a nice day.  We were intrigued by the "Best Coffee" award from Westword and the fact that they serve Intelligentsia coffee, which is very good.  So maybe we just ordered wrong, but their iced coffee left something to be desired.  I put a tiny bit of cream in each of our cups, and they turned completely white.  And of course, they just tasted like milk.  For the price, the coffee definitely shouldn't have been that dilute.

So, I'll maybe try them again for a latte when the weather cools off, but our experience was disappointing.  We didn't even finish our coffee, we threw them out and then came home and made our own.

An excellent spot for an excellent brew. Bring your laptop if you want to just enjoy the weekend without worries of meter maids. Prices are fair and the java is probably one of the very best I've had in Denver thus far.

While you would think this area would draw out a pompous crowd of rich yuppies, there's a good enough eclectic mix of folk that keep things interesting and chill. And you know how I feel about chill.

Did I mention their caramel macchiatos kick ass? Highly recommended!

The place is really nice on the inside with solid wood tables, plugins, ect.
    (there are leather couches too)
There are not that many people, so you can sit and study with out a problem. I think the two issue here would be parking (cherry creek street parking can suck) and hours, because, well for late night studying, there are places open later. BUT, it does stay open later than the other two nearby respectable coffee places, ink and Peets.

I feel like my wallet just got raped. Seriously.

I was thinking last night, "Oh, I should go check out Aviano- heard its good"

So.....I meander off to the fancy-shcmancy Cherry Creek North - which I love, except for parking is a frickin' nightmare - thankfully I went late enough in the evening that I didn't end up going completely crazy.

Anyway, this is easy enough to find and its got its cute little corner storefront. I meander on it and casually walk past a sandwich-board type sign not even looking at because I already know what I want.

I walk up- order a SMALL mocha (that is 12 oz mind you), the total........close to $5. Yeah, I know. Small mocha. Thats chocolate. Milk. Shot or two of espresso. Hence I consider raped.

Also, I will input my two-cents about Wi-Fi. I think they have free wi-fi. I didn't ask. I'm one of those people that haaaates to ask for the password to wireless networks. They have a password. Why not post it near the register? I don't want to bother you for the damn password.

I have looked at reviews for here, novo and intelligentsia  coffee which are all the same type of coffee in terms of the light roasting methods.  intelligentsia is where this place gets its beans, and i see the same across the board... best coffee bla bla bla , to me this coffee is way too acidic and it not full bodied enough for me.  anyone that knows anything about coffee will tell you this. the darker the roast you have less acidity and less caffeine. the lighter the roast is the opposite. there is a balance to this but i do not find it here. the price is also the same at all these style of places. i could go on and on and I'm sure someone else could write the opposite of what I'm saying, but to me I am done going to these styles of coffee shops.

when my g.f. was talking to the barista i think he mentioned it tastes like wine....yes this coffee taste very tannic due to the acidity of the light roast, i don't want my coffee to taste like wine.

Nice to see a real coffee enthusiasts cafe in Denver.  Great slow drip coffee and several types of brewing offered. Staff is friendly though had a hard time keeping up with the afternoon rush. Seating is a little strange with a shortage of chairs for the amount of tables. Overall good vibe, great coffee and a good place to relax while enjoying the Jo.

Wildly impressed to find a coffee shop in the area that brews Intelligentsia beans. The pour over coffee is consistently incredible, and if they make mochas like Intelligentsia does (chocolate shavings instead of syrup or powder), you're in for a real treat.

    Well done, Aviano!

I love the prairie. Really, I do. But I've been crisscrossing Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska for two weeks, and while I have found plenty of corn, combines, barbeque, and Midwestern hospitality, I am like Ahab looking for the Great Whale in my search for a good espresso. No dice among these seas of wheat, folks.

Hence I have made my way west.  I bumped into Aviano during a monring walk, and they are hitting all of the high notes: fair trade coffee, thick crema, comfy leather chairs, beans from Intellegentsia in California, random tunes, decent wifi... yum.

The only drawback is that other people are here, including a creepy guy in a Bellingham Technical College sweatshirt who is looking over my shoulder as I type. Yes, creepy guy, I mean you.

Intelligentsia coffee (the absolute BEST!) outshines the hipsters behind the bar that are more focused on interacting with each other than they are moving people through the shop and getting a coffee in your hands in a reasonable amount of time. Granted, this isn't solely their fault (anyone that's ever tried ordering coffee in Cherry Creek knows what I'm talking about with the clientele), but it's enough reason to not make it a regular spot. Ultimately, though, the coffee (when it comes) is a great cup!
