This is where you would take a meat-eating lady to seduce the lady out of her.
Tried: Semi-boneless quail from The Exotic: with a thick-cut pasta lightly dribbled with black truffle oil from Avedano's shelves
Ground buffalo from The Exotic: patted into burger patties, sandwiched between brioche buns from La Boulange, avocado and fried egg
The meat is succulent, fresh, and fantastic quality!
Suffice it to say- I am now incorrigibly infatuated with Avedano's and the gentleman who is spoiling me silly with their guilt-free meats. -

Sad to downgrade in my hood.
#1 Phone order and a quick pickup at closing for a butterfly pork roast that would need stuffing and refrigeration before it would be slowly roasted. Problem, bone was still in and the butterfly, well did I mention the bone? Problem when this was to be cook the next day for a dinner party. Totally hosed my plans. Manager wasn't helpful and in a nut shell said that he couldn't afford more than young inexperience staff. a business is only as good as it's staff.
#2 Signed up for a meat cutting class to find out 5 weeks later that there wasn't enough people to fill and therefore it was to be cancelled. Not that big of a deal, getting a refund took two trips to the store and three phone calls.
Overall great meat selection and most of it local. Not taking care of your loyal customers... not so good.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Fabulous meat and produce and grocery selection!
But I love their prepared foods - sandwiches, paninis, meals, deli meat, soup...
Everything is great...
Paninis are about $8. -
Review from Claire W.
Went there yesterday and bought enough meat that would last me for the next three months!! I got grass-fed (flax finished) beef roast, free-range chicken breasts with wings and bones in, grass-fed ground beef, 10-lbs of beef bones (marrow and stock bones), and one pint of bone stock that they made and kept frozen in the freezer. It's hard to find good quality meat, so I normally just bring my cooler with ices and make my trip all the way from mid Peninsula every few months to buy meat and beef bones and stock up my freezer.
While there, I also bought a pull-pork panini sandwich for lunch and gobbled it down sitting in my car, as there is no seating inside the store. It was so good! The panini was grilled perfectly, crispy outside with the cheese fully melt inside. The meat was tender, albeit a little dry as there was no sauce on it. The mustard dressing was very strong and it totally cleared up my sinus congestion! LOL...Overall a simple, clean taste and good quality sandwich.
I also got a bottle of House Kumbucha (see photo) to drink after the sammy and it tasted almost like a beer! I asked the guy working there to make sure it is non-alcoholic and they assured me it is just a fermented drink. I know what kumbucha is; it is fermented tea with live cultures and added flavors, which contains probiotics and is really good for digestion. So with the "buzz" from the kumbucha and a full stomach after the quick lunch, off I headed back home. I shall be back in 3 months!!
P.S. I came across this on Yelp for the House Kumbucha:
http://www.yelp.com/bi...
It turns out that this is a local business and they also offer kumbucha-making classes. Kumbucha is my favor beverage and I have tried different brands. This is by far the best!Listed in: Best Local Meat Source

This place is fantastic!! I was scoping out my new neighborhood and discovered the answer to all of my meat eating guilt. Finally a butchery that carries only sustainable meat! I can't stand factory farm meat and have vowed not to support not to support those practices. At the same time I think meat is an important part of my diet so thank you Avedano's for doing all the leg work to make sure I'm eating local and sustainable.

I've only been once but I can't wait to go back. The selection and quality of the meats being sold here are amazing.
Definitely try some of their cured meats, especially the cocoa salami that is made specially for Avedano's. It's mind blowing.
The service isn't fast but it's worth the wait. -

I've been meaning to try out Avedano's and just got my first panini! Still eating it and it's seriously good! I got the veggie but added chicken. It's not inexpensive ($10 for my sandwich) but it is so good I will definitely be back.

A pork and meat lovers paradise.
Came for the porchetta sandwich and left knowing that this is one of the best specialty meat shops I've been to.
The list of farms and vendors they work with is a whose who of sustainable and artisan meats. Besides stocking 4505 chicharrones aka pork cotton candy, I got all googly eyed when I saw that they had jamon iberico. Yes, it's $80/lb but I'm definitely going to need to try a few slices of this Kobe beef of pork next time.
Pretty extensive sandwich menu. $8.50 each and they get cooked on the panini press to order. The people who work here are pretty friendly.(http://www.yelp.com/bi...)
Ranked in preference.
1. ARISTA in PORCHETTA w/arugula, provolone, and sun dried tomato. Like a porchetta panini. I'm definitely a fan yet Roli Roti's is still my favorite though. Eat this! (http://www.yelp.com/bi...)
2. LAMB SANDWICH - Like a pulled pork sandwich that came with pesto, pecorino, and sun dried tomato. Nice flavor on the lamb with a balance of flavor from the pesto. I liked the crispness of the bread with the tender lamb. EAT if you like lamb, don't if you don't know since it can get gamey. (http://www.yelp.com/bi...)
3. STEAK SANDWICH - w/pecorino, arugula, and pickled tomato. Good. I liked how they didn't skimp on the meat which were tender and had good flavor. I'd like it more if it had been med rare than well done. (http://www.yelp.com/bi...)
The quality of the meat here is awesome. With the obscene amount of pork product here (like kurobata prosciutto), I'll defnitely be back to swine and dine. It's cool that they even do a butchering class, that's such a foodie gift.Listed in: Sandwich Guide, Ethnic markets, Fan of Porchetta!

I try to support the local businesses, I eat organic, and I'm trying to stay away from the Corporation, and in general, Texas. Avedano's mostly fits the bill.
The building has been a butchery for over a century, although there was a recent gap of twenty years prior to Avedano's arrival, some four or five years ago. They age their own beef, offer, on some occasions, two types of chicken, one organic and one heritage (smaller tits), and wild boar sausage on one occasion.
They also offer free range eggs, when available, and, Baker Alert: Leaf Lard!
Unfortunately, while they will cut them for you, they do not offer bone-in chicken breasts, and on one occasion the chickens offered were too small to be practical (I love Nature too, but I have my needs, and last I checked, I AM part of Nature).
So.
This is a great resource, and I've heard more about this place than any other, in print, online, and elsewhere.
They have a meat wagon off the park, on Octavia, in Hayes Valley.
I found their products to be of the utmost quality. I sampled their lamb chipotle soup and ended up buying it, and devouring it like a pig---their prepared foods are delicious.
I can't, however, depend on them to have what I want, so for me, the distance is a bit of a stretch for regular patronage.
On the other hand, their meat locker has to be one of San Francisco's most underwhelmed scenic sights: You can see it from the front of the store, at the rear of the wood block table, where two overhead iron rails merge, and one terminates at a wooden wall. Once the door opens, you see the most mouthwatering sight of hanging sides of beef and pork, in a wood lined chamber. The colors are muted, elegant, and the scene worth painting.
Or go home and cook that roast with a bottle of wine. I mean, drink the bottle of wine while you're cooking the roast. -

My favorite butcher shop in the city. The butchers know what they're about, the product quality is top shelf, and the extras (local/hard-to-find sodas, small, but essential veggie selection, micro-chocolates, etc.) are perfect. Just know that the prices reflect the fun.

Stopped on my way here to pick up dinner on my way to a pool league match at a bar nearby. I noticed they make Panini sandwiches and wanted to try out their Pastrami sandwich. Very delicious and didn't take them very long to make my sandwich. It was little expensive with chips, but worth it considering other take out options in the area. If I knew how to cook, I'd be tempted to buy a piece of meat. They have a lot to chose from here.

What a kick ass little place. Beautifully butchered meat and some fish, a fantastic salami and aged ham selection, fancy pants grocery items and stocks, fats and bones. Avendano's has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff, eager to share and please. Woo hoo, what a find!
We came in for lamb and walked out with a whole duck and a few sausages. If you ever see spicy thai sausage in the window, buy it! It was unbelievable...really. We also tried the bourbon and sage sausage and it was really different, definitely worth a taste. The quality of the meat is tremendous and you can absolutely taste the difference.
My fiancé's chef in culinary school told him he'd never find Iberico ham but it's here ($75 or so a lb.). We'll probably try a slice or two next time we're in and can't wait to do some salami tasting/buying! -

I really, really love this little boucherie in Bernal Heights on Courtland Street. It has some of the best meat one can buy and the prices are comparable to other places that sell quality meat, like Fatted Calf, Golden Gate Meats and Whole Foods. I bought a chicken here recently, and the person who sold it to me happily cut it up upon my request. I gotta give them 5 stars for service. Unfortunately when I got home, while beginning my prep, I smelled something funny in the chicken. The poor bird was past its prime and had the faint putrefying smell of meat that had begun to rot. Knowing who these people are, and their dedication to what they do, I am sure this was a rare outlier, something that never happens. Still as a person who cares about food safety, and as someone who has experienced illness when said safety didn't happen it was a concern.
They were good about it, offered to take it back, but my request to them is please, please be careful with this. As a small shop maybe there isn't the volume that a big market has, things staying around a bit too long.
That said, will I continue to shop at Avedano's? Absolutely! This was to me an obviously rare occurrence and unless it happens again, I'll be back. -

Walk in, close your eyes and just stab a finger on the menu, you can't go wrong!
A buddy of mine posted a picutre of a sandwich he got here last week on FB...Wild boar, pate and gruyere, and it looked and sounded utterly amazing.
I found myself out that way and walked in to what turned out to be a small slice of heaven.
I knew my buddy's sandwich was the special that day so I wasn't expecting to see it on the menu, which it wasn't. In its place I ordered the steak panini and while eating it in the van must have sounded like a porn star chick with all of the moaning and licking of my fingers that was going on. Best of all was the last bite...a big hunk of meat with a fat amount of fat on the end. It was the sh_t.
Everything else on the menu and under the glass looked jaw-dropping. Yes they prices were a bit more than usual, probably on par with Whole Paycheck, but I'd venture a guess that it's worth it. -
Review from Jason B.
As a sandwich shop: So so. Wasn't that impressed with my Tuscan Turkey, was a few bites and a few veggies short of something to recommend. Did appreciate the swap of pork for turkey.
As a butcher shop: Very impressive. Quite the diverse selection of meats complemented by some eclectic sundries (i.e. locally produced sauerkraut).
My fellow yelpers are way more enthusiastic, and I think it's because you came for the butcher shop, while I came for the sandwich shop. Might need to correct that. -

It's always fun to find and discover locally owned neighborhood shops when yelping for other shops near by. This is the second meat shop I've been to in less than 2 weeks. exceptional beef, pork, chicken, lamb and charcuterie all can be found in this small meat & grocery shop. End-up getting some house-made lamb merguez sausage and Kurobuta pork chops and some highly prized duck fat.

Duck, wild boar sausage, grass fed beef, lamb, goat - you name the insanely tasty meat - Avedano's Holly Park Market has it. They use local sources and sustainable/healthy animals. The guy at the counter told me that their pork was from Vacaville, the Beef from Susanville, and the other meats were from nearby too.
You pay a bit extra for the high quality and because the meat was not produced in a giant factory with slave labor. While it is definitely hard to fork out that bit extra, I sure felt great about it last night as I was eating a delicious roast duck leg with a home made fig sauce, and knowing that the purchase is supporting small, sustainable farms. -
Review from Len S.
Avedano's rocks and is exemplary of the community of small purveyors of high quality products. The meat in the glass is gorgeous, it could be in a pageant and tastes even better. The people behind the counter not only know what they are doing, they are happy to talk at length about what you're doing and more importantly, correct you when you're doing something really really wrong.
So don't be shy, go see the experts, tell them your project, as in my case, Corned Beef, and the magical mystery hunt for Saltpeter, and how much I needed. Thanks to Avedano's I won't poison anyone, or myself for that matter, but will wind up with a mountain worth of Reuben sandwiches.
Did I mention the Tuscan pork panini? Slow cooked melt in your mouth hog, tomatoes, onions, mustard grilled. Do you need more? -

4 solid stars for their pannini steak, lamb, porchetta!!!
sampled 3 of their sandwiches pannini steak was lil dry for me had enough flavor, if it was offered medium rare I believe the pannini steak would have been a 5 for me but because it was well done it was dry imma have to give it a passing of 3 stars just for the pannini steak sammich
for their lamb sandwich, juicy, tender slight gaminess but that is expected with lamb it as made just right I will give them 4 solids stars for their lamb sammich
lastly sampled their Porchetta, their were two kinds we sampled the staff recommended, I can't lie it was decent not the best but it was one of the better porchetta sandwiches I have had if I were to go back I would order it again.
grab a bag of 4505 chicharrones first time getting this bag of heavenly goodness I will be back to get some more if not getting another porchetta sandwich
food **** even 4 around the board for the sammiches I sampled
price $ I think it was about 7.50 or 8.50 each not bad not bad at all
service ***** excellent staff
ambiance ***** if they open the large door in the back you can literally see side of cow hanging, I see this and my eyes lite up with joy hahhaha horrible I know, their is more then just meat they sell I would sample other things they offer if I am to visit again, definitely some more of their different slices of porchetta's meat -

Not your average butcher shop...Avedano's butchers its own meat (and even has butchering classes) and carries gourmet, hard to find pantry items (dried pasta, spices, teas, olive oils, jam), prepared foods, seasonal produce (e.g., fuzzy almonds), fancy beverages, fresh pasta, fresh bread, homemade sauces, soup stock, The Latest Scoop gelato, cookbooks, etc. Where else can you get lardo, Tuscan pork, Let's Be Frank hot dogs, duck fat, wild boar salami, goat carnitas, cuttlefish ink, and 4505 Chicharrones?
By the register you'll find all sorts of sweet treats including chocolate tiles from Poco Delice, Kika's Treats, Clairesquares, Vosges Mo's Bacon bars, and cute pins that say I love you more than bacon, I love you more than ham, I love you more than pork and I love you more than steak.
They were just mentioned in the NY Times and featured on the CBS Morning Show too.
* Pulled pork panini ($6.85) with pickled red onions, mustard, and fresh tomatoes. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, including the mustard. The sandwich was dripping in oil/grease though (definitely made it less enjoyable). It was the greasiest Panini I've ever had - by far. Even the bread (ciabatta) was oil soaked. The meat was on the dry side. I liked how it was warm and toasty. I'd like to try some of their other paninis (steak with gruyere, BBQ chicken, turkey with bacon, porchetta). I don't know why it was so oily but hopefully it's just that one type of sandwich.
They even have a frequent shopper card; you get a hole punch for every $25 spent and it's easy to spend $25. Avedano's, if you're reading this I found a cute sheep hole punch here (at Michael's): http://www.michaels.co... -

No fair! Those kids in Bernal get all the cool new places!
Avedano's is your friendly neighborhood meat market, plus. It has a real butcher counter with fresh local meat and seafood, plus great sandwiches, fresh produce, cheeses, teas, agua frescas, etc.
You can either buy the fixings to make yourself a delicious meal at home, or take advantage of the prepared foods for a gourmet heat-and-eat night that will taste like you made it yourself.
On my first visit, I bought: baby arugula, mixed greens, ricotta salata, watermelon agua fresca, bread for making panninis, cream of tomato soup, chicken/lime soup. Everything was very tasty and top quality - and actually reasonably priced.
This market is still very new, and they will figure out through their customers what works best for them - and as a customer, I look forward to seeing this business thrive and grow. -

A butcher shop dishing out $9-a-dozen, wild/pastured/local/grass-fed eggs would be unbearably snooty in Noe Valley, but up in the ramshackle, labyrinthine streets of Bernal Heights, it takes on a much more iconoclastic/progressive light (especially when you arrive by scooter).
It's certainly no trivial feat to track down these model growers of humane and sustainable animal products, and wouldn't you know it, even after all my Michael Pollan books and web research, I arrived only to find out that Soul Food Farms' roasters weren't in season (because, yes, eco-efficient meat has a season--see why industrialized agriculture took over so easily?).
They did, however, have the magical eggs, which for comparison I fried side-by-side with some (merely) organic eggs from Mollie Stone's. The yolks didn't look any more orange to me (from all the carotenoids, they say), but I definitely could see the increased "muscle tone"--the white didn't spread as far and the yolk was far perkier. The Soul Food yolk is definitely richer and more viscous on the tongue as well--like egg nog compared to milk. Still, unless you're an expert dessert chef, I doubt you'll find this worth the doubled (or tripled) price. But if you're rich, you can always call it an investment in sustainability:)
I was also here to try the famous cuban panini, but alas, the pork loins were still cooking. So instead they made me a great salami one that was a touch exotic in its own way (cloves, perhaps?).Listed in: Bernal Heights &…

We had known about Avedano's for some time, already fans of its small-shoppe approach focusing on local, organic and quality meats and produce. We love their kurobuta pork chops, fresh pastas, shelves of fine vinegars and oils, the magic freezer where one is likely to find demi-glace, bones for stock, and caul fat... we love the fact that it was run and managed by 3 women, including the butcher. We love that an entire pig is broken down every week for many tasty purposes.
The husband wanted to do their butchering class with his grandfather and younger brother, an aspiring chef. Though Avedano's only does one class a month, they added one extra class in January when they learned Danny's family was flying out from Florida. The class is limited to 6 people, costs $300 and entails 3 hours of butchery class. Each person gets to take home around 14-15 lbs of meat (approx. 100 lbs gets broken down during the class). Lunch is included and Avedano's provides all the tools, the meat and butcher smocks. Each person gets hands-on work with actually cutting up and breaking down two entire carcasses of lamb and suckling pig.
A quick tour behind the counter reveals that the place is immaculate - one could eat off the floors. There's a space in the back for private parties, and a kitchen for preparing tasty pre-made foods.
When Tia, the butcher (who's also executive chef at Sociale) learned that Danny's grandfather and brother were flying home to Florida the next day, she vaccum-packed their meats for them.
All in all, the class (while pricey), was a fantastic experience. With useful handouts and the invaluable hands-on training, the class helps to demystify the (these days) rare and almost forgotten art of butchery. -

All of a sudden I have been shopping at Avedano's regularly (like a few times a week). I really like the idea of supporting a local butcher/store instead of buying at Whole Foods.
I like that they have fish and meat that you can NEVER get at Whole foods. I bought a piece of sturgeon upon the recommendation of the butcher and it might have been the best fish I've ever had. When in season, you can get sand dabs too (another one of my favorite fishes). I also love buying their Kobe beef flank steak.
Their homemade panini sandwiches are great and a favorite of Bernal residents. I have had 3 different ones so far and love the Cuban and the meat loaf panini sandwiches. They make them to order so it takes a little while.
I have bought their frozen gnocchi and bolognese sauce, but it's still in the freezer and I haven't tried it yet.
I highly recommend shopping at Avedano's - the service is always friendly and helpful. They'll even call you upon request if there's something you're waiting for.Listed in: Bernal Heights, lesbian…

01/15/08 UPDATE
Last night I put that bad boy of a chicken in the oven with only a bit of freshly chopped herbs, garlic and some squeeze of lemon. IN THE WORDS OF A VERY DEAR MAN IN MY LIFE: IT WAS SO JUICY!
***********
I first read about this lady owned butcher shop in the Chronicle, then another write up in Bon Appetit Magazine and this month Sauveur. I had to take a trip over to see what these ladies were all about.
I love Bernal Heights, I don't go often enough. If my rent wasn't so cheap in Noe Valley I would move. And after visiting Avedano's today I have another reason to relocate to Bernal Heights.
I went in without the intention of making a purchase. I met my butcher and how bad of me to forget her name, (I don't seem to be doing too well with one of my new years resolution for 2008...names).
The place has the feel of an old time butcher. I am guessing the main cooler displaying all their protein is the original. It ads so much ambiance to the place. I walked in and could smell that familiar protein smell from my days in butcherie while attending culinary school. But wait there was a hint of something else in the air...what is it...ahhh there is the source a big vat of marinara sauce stewing in the back. so not only are they providing me with proteins they make sauce, tacos, sandwiches and who knows what else.
After introducing myself and singing my praises I was brought out back to the private dining area you can rent out. It was so cool. It seats 26 people and they will cater from the kitchen in the back. Apparently it isn't your standard meal it is a multi-course affair complete with front of the house staff and back of the house. You can even bring in your own wines...all the better!
Do yourself a favor and make a trip over to these ladies. They know what they are doing, are happy to take time with you and really want to make you happy. This is a neighborhood butcher and they will get much more of my business.
Oh by the way I walked out with a whole chicken and not just any old whole chicken a delicious petite air dried chicken that has so much flavor without any other elaborate spice or herb.
HATS OFF LADIES! I WOULD LOVE TO COME AND SPEND A DAY WITH YOU TO LEARN A THING OR TWO.

[Green Zebra Coupon: Free cup of soup with sandwich]
I can't say much for their meat selection since, honestly, I didn't look at it. I can say this, for a butcher shop they do know their produce.
I got an heirloom tomato and pesto sandwich and a cup of lamb soup. I'm not a big lamb fan (and I'm actually a recent, former-vegetarian) but the tomatoes in both were so good I thought I'd die. I haven't even been able to find tomatoes that good at farmers markets so I don't know where they get them from (Granny's yard, perhaps?) but they made both the soup and sandwich delectable.
The service was also friendly and while I waited I contemplated purchasing a bottle of "Lenninade," communist-themed, sparkling pink lemonade. The guy working there seemed a bit shy or new to the job, but overall it was a great (perhaps over-priced) place to grab a late lunch.Listed in: Green Zebra

The feel of an Italian alimentari.....aaahh, straight forward food.
No distractions.
Nothing looked so so, rice from Vercelli (where I come from), meat cuts (best roastbeef ever....mouth melting after I cooked it), salami (reasonably priced boccalone), air dried chicken, white asparagus, Rachael Saunder's jams, a terrific duck breast.....everything.
The only glitch is that the meat comes from Oregon (at least the one I got). I wonder why they don't buy from Marin or other close areas. If it's for quality purposes I'll shut up - I don't mind splurging if the quality is excellent as it was.
Dear locavores....if you only knew how good was that roastbeef...
So they are cooks, foodies and also butchers....respect to these girls.
They do cooking classes too...
Did I mention the sammiches? No, right? It's because you have to get one to understand. -

(Edit: they have lowered the price of the yogurts mentioned below to $3.00... thanks!)
Excited to have a new butcher/market in Bernal Heights, and there's quite a bit to like here already, but man, the items are expensive ($3.50 single serving containers of yogurt!?). Selection needs more time to grow too. A good start, and I'll definitely give some time for things to shake out. Welcome to the neighborhood, hope you do well!
addenum:
Tried the tacos this weekend (only available on Sundays, I think; look for the lit up taco sign), and they were AWESOME!! ordered both pork and carne asada, and they were each piled high with stupendously tasty meat, onions, cilantro, on a homemade super-tortilla, with a pickeled pepper on the side. you *must* try them! -

Last night went there for the first time - after some months of just driving by - and was very pleased with the experience. Dave the friendly butcher was there and he happily butchered us some lamb shanks right off the hanging beast itself.... and then he cut us a deal for the neck, which we were very pleased to get and which we put to good use in a stock.
This is an old school abattoir, with the beasts hanging by the hooks in the walk in, ready to be brought out and butchered right in front of you. I love that. I also love walking in and seeing lamb rack and some really good looking cuts of grass fed beef. And I love the seemingly (but not really) random things that they have on the shelves and cases. I also love that we can talk to Dave the friendly butcher and get positive, interested responses when we probe him about some of the more, uh, exotic cuts that we're looking for. All of these things are good.
Oh, and a good location and high quality meats? That's good too.
So go and get your MEAT ON! -

"Butcher's hands, gentle souls."
We only bought 3 things:
1) A delicious flank steak, the one in the case just wasn't big enough, so the Butcher girl brought us one from the BIG fridge, it grilled up nicely.
2) Bacon: Thick and not too fatty, I almost made the mistake of just ordering a 1/2 pound...
3) A whole fish: Intimidating as it might seem, Tia gave us some lemon-thyme to stuff it with, and it made it onto the grill with the flank steak.
Great service, and yummy meat -- you can't go wrong here. -

best quality meat i've ever bought. you definitely get what you pay for. i probably won't be able to buy steak from a chain store ever again.
friendly and helpful workers, great selection of meats and sausages. loved all the rubs, condiments and the little selection of in season produce.
let's be honest. female butchers = awesome.
definitely a woohoo as good as it gets! -

This place rocks.
Sometimes I go in for a zucchini & goat cheese panini, sometimes for some fresh watermelon agua fresca for my boy, or maybe to get a loaf of asiago bread and dip it in their fantastic olive oils (oils run from $10-15 for about a 12 oz. bottle - very worthwhile, though, the oils are delish.)
They're no nonsense, neighborly, down to earth - and they know good food. Such a great addition to the neighborhood. Come give them a visit. -

So I just moved across the street from Avedano's and like to include it on my Cortland tour when people come to visit. Angela, one of the owners, is always nice, even when I don't actually do any ordering.
So far, I've only had the prepared items because, well, I'm lazy. The paninis are excellent (especially the ones with prosciutto) and I was impressed with the Sunday tacos.
Plus, I like their vintage neon sign. -

Best Cuban sandwich in town: well toasted, great mustard, enough pickles, succulent pork accessorized with ham.
Been to Lo Cubano, Delessio's, Arlequin's, etc. and this one is IT!
Such a retro-cool spot with down to earth people running the show.
Reasonable prices for such high quality fare.
