Don't you just hate having to smog the old car every two years, Well I do, and having to pay the sometimes more than $70.00 fees!
Well NOT ANYMORE !
I found Automotive Excellence about 6 months ago while selling one of my Trucks, not only were they prompt, courteous and extremely professional, they also have discount coupons everywhere. You can save $40.00 just by bringing in a coupon. You can find the coupons in the Phone book, Grocery store receipts, Gold Panner and the Newspaper etc. You can even call them on the phone and they will tell you where to find one.
I've used them two times now and thought it was time to give them a nice YELP. I have always had prompt and professional service and I plan to use them for all my Automotive needs from now on...

Brought my minivan in for several issues. They charged a $130 diagnostic charge for EACH issue, I left it a two issues. They (correctly) diagnosed and leaking radiator, which is pretty easy to figure out, and quoted almost $700 more to replace it. The going rate for this is well under $600. Diagnosed (incorrectly) a faulty speed sensor.
I replaced the radiaton myself or $200 (parts) and had another shop fix the speed sensor issue for under $200 with no diagnostic fee, it ended up being faulty wiring.
I don't mind paying for a diagnostic fee, but I expect it to be accurate for $260, and maybe apply it towards the repair. I gave them two stars because they've done some other satisfactory work for my son, but I think they need to get their costs in line. -

I went in to get my vehicle smog'd and was met with a little attitude, but I was on a schedule and needed it done. The vehicle passed no problem, but as I drove away I noticed my air conditioner no longer worked. The vehicle is newer and was in perfect working condition before I took it to the shop.
The guy helping me seemed spiteful and wouldn't put it past him to cause a problem, lucky I still have a factory warranty and won't be returning to this shop to fix the problem they caused.Comment from Randi M. of Automotive Excellence 11/16/2011

We came here with a car we were interested in buying, to get a thorough inspection and make sure it was good to go. They were so nice! My husband talked to Randi on the phone and she was very kind and helpful in setting up the appointment. When we got there they took care of us right away, and after the inspection was done, she walked us through all of the mechanic's notes and explained everything. I'm wary of mechanics simply because I don't know much about cars, but I'm definitely glad we came here; it was a really nice experience.

When you move to a new area it's always difficult to find a good, honest auto repair shop. Before I moved I knew my mechanic for over 10 years.
When I talked to Jim, Ross and Randi at Automotive Excellence I felt I found a shop that I could trust with our cars and trucks. After they completed the work needed on my wifes car I knew I found that shop. No sales pitch, just good honest talk. I like that. -

Quick and easy smog check on AWD 2004 Toyota. Took about 45 minutes. They have a coupon on their website. They take credit cards. This is about as easy as a smog check can get. I've got 5 cars, I'll be back.

Good with minor maintenance. Not very knowledgeable when it comes to smogging foreign cars or major work. Tried getting car smogged, did not pass twice, technician could offer no advice. Dealership recommeded Quality Tune Up in Roseville. The technician at Quality figured out the problem and it passed smog, no problem.
The people are very nice at Auto Excellence. I have a friend that swears by them, but it's all for minor maintenance. -

These guys are really nice. They have a nice waiting room (big screen, popcorn etc), are really thorough, and don't mind giving you details on what's going on with your car.
At the same time, maybe you just want a tune-up and don't want to deal with a lot of hassle. Consider that. But if you're looking for an honest shop to treat you like a human and do a thorough professional job on your car, these guys can help.

I normally do my own repair work. Trying to find a good, honest, fair priced mechanic is nearly impossible. Find one that has a cheerful, helpful staff that keeps you in the loop on everything that is going on with your car well I had given up on that part of it. However at Automotive Excellence they have it all! No really they are that good! I'm not saying they don't make a mistake from time to time but they are quick to admit it and make it more than right. They have Free WiFi so I can work there while my car is being repaired and great coffee, comfortable waiting room. They deserve all 5 stars! The owners and staff work as a team and it shows!
