4 reviews for Automobile Driving Museum
I am very disappointed in myself for not reviewing this place earlier. The Auto Driving Museum is definitely one of my top 5 places in Los Angeles.
First of all, it's on a deserted street in El Segundo, not far from Sepulveda, so it's easy to get to and there is always plenty of free parking.
Second of all, it's non-profit and donation only. They suggest $5.00, but I try to throw in a bit more each time I visit.
Third of all, you can actually SIT IN AND TOUCH several of the cars on display. Docents will give you a tour for free, explaining all the history and detail of each vehicle. You can do a self-tour, but it's more fun to interact with other vintage car fans. Docents also can let you know which cars are okay to sit in and touch, and which ones are off limits. They also take pretty good photos, if you ask nicely.
Fourth, and this is the BEST PART: Every Sunday from 10AM to 3PM, they offer rides in two of the cars from the collection. They rotate the cars, so you never know what you'll get, but today, for example, we rode in a 1962 Corvair and a 1941 Plymouth. These rides do not cost extra, you just have to sign a simple release waiver. Then off you go on a 5 minute drive around the office parks. It's a BLAST! (Please note, no rides if there is rain, or possibility of rain.)
They have cars from Model Ts on up to a DeLorean and several muscle cars. Everyone who works there is super friendly and you can hang out as long as you want. And did I mention the old fashioned soda fountain? The gift shop selling vintage car repair manuals and other paraphernalia?
When I'm down, a perfect Sunday for me is breakfast at Pann's, then a day at the Automobile Driving Museum. It's a MUST SEE if you like vintage cars, but don't like the snobby velvet rope attitude of the Petersen.

This has the most beautiful selection of cars. We performed there this past weekend and got a chance to walk around after the show and ever car was like I want. If you get the chance go here for sure. We can't wait to perform here again. I also here they have swing dancing on Sundays!

First of all how can you rate this any lower then 5 stars. there is cars, and then it's free. lol I thought it was going to be like 10 cars but this place was packed. everything from custom made cars, to half million dollar cars. They go out of there way to show you everything about the cars. they'll let you sit in them and open the hoods. it's really a different type of museum. most museums wont even let you get near the cars. they even rent the cars out for weddings and have a hall for meetings or parties. I cant wait to go back and go for a ride in another car. thanks to all the people that support this place.
