I guess this is actually a business location for WordPress but they are also a nice venue. I was here last night for ChicMeetsGeek event hosted by Carol Tran (founder of ChicMeetsGeek) and it was a blast!
This is right next to Pier 40 so at night you can pay $10 to park extremely close to Pier 38 to attend any events held here. The space is large and definitely good for any kind of swanky party because its very swanky inside with modern / contemporary decor and furniture.
There is a bar area although the bathrooms are located at an odd place. I think this place opens up for private events a few times a year but it's definitely a nice location to do any kind of event at because it's just low key enough to be away from the crowds of the city but upbeat enough to hold its own. -

Few places where I can go to a party which has Richard Stallman chatting casually by the entrance. And a giant 'W' made out of cake with white and blue icing. And free tshirts lying on basically every available surface. This is such a place.
Con: the drink line was hella long. Pro: free beer. Free if you look at it a certain way. Caution: not really open to the general public. But maybe breaking and entering is anew hobby of yours? Check it out. -
