What scares a BMW owner the most??? The day the odometer kicks you out of the manufacturer maintenance worry-free plan..... 5 years of worry-free bliss is now a stress-inducing race to google what that iDrive message that just popped up means-or better yet COSTS. Your friendly service advisor who you've grown to trust and appreciate (because hey! whatever the problem/need, BMW is picking up the tab anyway) doesn't seem so friendly anymore. BMW will have you believe that no mechanic outside of the dealership is equipped or qualified to work on your car. I have to admit...I was scared to death!!! It was time for the dreaded oil change and brake replacement....BMW wanted $160 for the oil change alone, needless to say I didn't ask about the brakes.
Enter Auto Europa.... After an EXTENSIVE online search and visit to various independent shops, I discovered Auto Europa. I got Ron, the owner, on the phone. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating to my 20 minute grill session. I brought him my best quote for an oil change and he beat it considerably. He also got me in same-day. I wasn't prepared when I arrived, however, to have my brake pads and rotors replaced. I was told by another mechanic that I had at least 3 more weeks left on those bad boys! lol He made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Not only was his work perfection, it exceeded that of the dealership! My car was ready over an hour early and I found Ron to be very honest. My brakes have squeaked since the day that car was delivered. I told Ron that BMW said there was nothing that could be done about it, and it's an ongoing complaint amongst owners. Ron's reply: "Not after I replace them. Those brakes will not squeak." He was right. 2 months later...not a squeak. I just found my new repair shop! BTW he only uses new BMW factory issued parts, and offers the same dealer guarantee on parts and warrantees. They may not offer complimentary loaners.....but its close proximity to Union Square and better yet, Burke Williams:) trumps a loaner car any day. Me and my wallet are very happy that we found Ron and Auto Europa!! -

The good people at Auto-Europa have been caring for my 2000 Land Rover Discovery ever since it left its warranty period. These vehicles require great care and can get expensive to maintain, but it is worth it. They do everything from my regular oil changes to rebuilding the engine when gaskets fail, etc. I find them trust-worthy, caring, and always executing what they say they will do in the time they say they can get it done.
Bonus is that they recently cleaned their space out of some old stuff so it is much cleaner and well organized. Always feels better to leave your vehicle with someone who appears to care for their space.
I hope to keep coming back for the next 50-100k miles! -

I have one of those old Porsche's from the 70s. Nothing fancy, but needs a lot of TLC.
The guys are Auto Europa are fantastic, they tend to my oil chugging/smoke spitting baby very well.
Barbara who runs the place is super cool too, she will give you honest advise and will refer you to someone else if they can't do it for it.
Highly recommend this shop. -

This is the only place in the city that I will take my Range Rover. In the office, Barbara is as nice as they get. . .and I am always amazed that she knows my name soon as I walk in the door. Ron in friendly as well, and runs a great shop. His mechanics are all friendly and willing to chat about the repairs that they did.
Unfortunately, for me, my Range Rover brings me here far too often. They are a bit on pricey side for parts sometimes, but they always get the job done correctly so I don't complain. . .and they surely will always beat the dealer's estimate. They have stayed late and worked me into their schedule several times, and for that I am very appreciative.
I've had everything from oil changes to top end re-builds done here, and would not hesitate to recommend them to any Land Rover owner. -

I am very surprised to see other good Yelp reviews, as my experience with Auto Europa was a very bad one.
Few months back, I took in my '06 Range Rover Sport Supercharged for a few things that needs repair. The car was out of the warranty and I was searching on Google for a repair shop that specialize in Range Rover besides the dealer. I found Auto Europa and decided to give it a try.
They kept my car for over 2 weeks and couldn't fix it as promised. And I got the car back and found out there are 4 pieces of interior plastics that were just laying on the floor.
I decided to go to the dealer instead and asked them to see if they can issue any sort of partial refund for the work left undone. They refused.
The worst thing is the bill came out to be almost $500 for them to tell me a few things that are wrong with the car, which I already knew they' were broken in the first place.
They charge $135/hr but didn't fix anything except changing the oil. Paying a few bucks more an hr, you can take your car back to Land Rover dealership. Don't waste your money here, you will regret it.Comment from Ron M. of Auto Europa 3/7/2011

simple service but a fuse error popped up after they were done. i asked what the fuse was and just wanted it fixed. but ron said he needed to do a $100+ diagnostic to check it since me check engine light was on. my check engine light was not on, it was the amber service light - that never goes off and pops back on after its reset.
in the end something did come up in the diagnostic - but something always does (its an old car) but i don't fret since my car runs fine. i asked about the fuse since he did not mention it and it was the orginal purpose of the diagnostic, and he said "it was blown and we replaced it." never said what it was for ...
the dash said "fuse xx failure" ... hmmmmm i wonder what that means. maybe the fuse is blown. but instead of walking out with a $70 bill it was $200+.
i only agreed to the diagnostic because my husband said to get it done - for my safety i guess, especially since he was going out of town for 2 days. i'm not a mechinic but i grew up with brothers who constantly meddled with their cars and one being a rover too. so it was a pain to say yes to the diagnostic - i was hoping for something relating to the fuse would come up ... but nope. or maybe even open a manual and tell me what the fuse was for ....nope.
docked 3 stars for the nonsense after the bulbs were replaced.
