Do yourself and your car a favor, take your car to Jay.
With a few thousand miles of grime built up from a drive around the country, my old Subaru needed a deep clean before I could sell it. I called Jay because of Yelp reviews and I'm glad I did. He met me at the lobby of his building so that he could drive it down to his garage. Just a few hours later he called to let me know it was done.
I take good care of my car but I've never had it look as nice as it does now. No "missed spots" like I'm used to getting at other detailers/washers.
Great communication. Great price. I'm definitely telling my friends to take their car to Jay! -

I went here based on Yelp reviews, and ended up having a fantastic experience, similar to everyone else's. I called Jay the day before, and needed to get in quickly before leaving town the following afternoon. He got me in first thing the next morning, and after realizing that my car needed a tad more attention than usual (it's an old car, I'm an ex smoker, you get the picture...) he was a little worried that it might not be done in the time frame I needed... He came through for me though, and called me exactly five hours after I dropped off the car, which is the time frame he gave me initially.
My car was spotless, and honestly, smelled brand new. I was kind of shocked. I knew it would be clean, just not THAT clean. Super impressed. Seems like he has a great thing going, and I will definitely recommend him to others. And my favorite part? I'm sure he deals with high end cars on a regular basis, and he never once winced when I pulled into the garage in my 05 Corolla! Love it! -

Why didn't I do this sooner? My car is like NEW!
Jay is absolutely amazing - the kind of business owner that you are happy to give your money to, because he goes the extra mile to make sure you get outstanding service.
He knocked it out of the park on our 2002 Honda CR-V and essentially saved us the expense of buying a new car. Our car was a garbage can on wheels, 170K miles but still running fine ... and who really wants to buy a new car in the city? Now we don't have to, because I'm not completely grossed out by this car. In fact, it looks pretty amazing, inside and out!
Another perk: I called on Monday, Jay was able to schedule us for the next day, and we got our car back on the same day. This was an amazing perk and so so helpful for a new mom like me.
Can't rave about Jay or his service enough. HIGHLY recommend. THANK YOU! -

Jay and his team do an excellent job of detailing cars.
The garage, though a little difficult to access at first, is extremely clean and well-organized. You could eat off of the garage floors. Jay will meet you at a convenient location (in front of 350 N. Clark) to provide directions down to his garage.
Jay's customer service is also superb. He'll send you a receipt via e-mail at the time of the transaction. He followed up with me after I returned home as well, to ensure that everything was satisfactory. -

Oh my god....oh.my.god! I love what Jay did to my car. I have 2 loves in my life, my car and my dog, so when I realized my car had multiple marks from the jerks in my parking garage I knew she needed to be pampered. I searched all around for a decent auto detail location because I wouldn't trust my car to just anyone. From the glowing reviews I knew this place was the one.
I was totally right! My 2005 TSX looks brand new!!! As soon as I saw my car I couldn't quit smiling. Tears wanted to roll down my cheek over how good my car looked. The door marks from others are gone. The dog hair from my other love, all gone. Inside and out...looks absolutely fabulous! He seems to be a perfectionist with his work which seems to be hard to find these days.
I will totally take my car back in a few months. -

It's no surprise that every review for this place is for 5 stars (except for the one guy who rated the place despite never actually finding it, but I digress).
This place deserves 5 stars based simply on the work they do - my car looked fantastic and while I had previously praised a different place near my house, the work at Auto Detail Chicago is really above and beyond my previous detailing experiences.
But, beyond the great work, this place deserves a thousand stars for the convenience it provides for downtown workers. Absolutely love that I can drop off my car in the morning and have it looking beautiful when I'm ready to drive home. It's actually not hard to find, just a little hard to describe...if you're driving on Kinzie there is a ramp literally in the middle of the intersection of Kinzie and LaSalle on the south side that goes below the street level of LaSalle. Go down the ramp, take a quick left, and Jay lets you in his garage (call for an appt first). After dropping the car off, you go up the elevator of the connected condo building (popping out at Kinzie and Clark)
Most importantly, my first experience with Jay was phenomenal. I was in the market for a new car and and wanted my SUV detailed before trading it in so that the dealer couldn't take off any value for the condition of the interior. We were buying a pre-owned car so when I found the one I wanted on a Monday, I didn't want to wait and risk having it sold by waiting until I could have my car detailed. So I called Jay - who was booked solid for the day and suggested that I drop it off the following morning. When I told him my situation (that I wanted to go make an offer on the new car that night), he found a way to accommodate me. I dropped my car off during my lunch break (Jay made a special trip to meet me) and by 5:00 my trashed SUV looked sparkling new (kinda didn't want to trade it in it looked so good).
Long story short, Jay did a great job and saved the day. I indeed traded my car in that same night and as soon as that vehicle needs some TLC, it will go back to Jay and his team.
One final note, there are a lot of fancy cars in the image gallery and with the downtown location, I'm sure this is fairly typical - but don't let that scare you off...my car was a 2005 Chevy Equinox full of dog hair and strewn with all sorts of food particles from my daughter eating in her car seat. -

For the past 3 years I have been traveling back and forth between Evanston, Chicago, Champaign, and the Northwest Suburbs. My black Toyota 4 Runner was essentially put through hell and back on my travels...everything from bugs, rocks, strong winds, bikers clipping my car, heavy building construction dust and debris, Chicago weather...you name it this 4 Runner has been through it.
I always try to maintain the car, but you can imagine that it got out of hand. A regular hand wash by me no longer removed the grime on my windows or my bumper. I strongly considered detailing the car myself and have researched it the past year, but I still didn't have the tools or the time to do it. After researching several place I came across Auto Detail Chicago and Jay's fine work there.
First off, Jay is awesome. He's a true professional willing to help you on getting your car's luster and shine back. You can tell he likes to do this and that he cares for the customer. The day I was going to pick up the car it was raining heavy, so he suggested to leave it in his garage just a bit longer to wait for it to pass (I didn't need the car, so why not?). That's how much he cares about his work. Bottom line, customer service is perfect. As for his work...perfect as well. He took off the swirls, bug grime, and film that has accumulated on my black SUV. I was just staring in disbelief that my car looked brand new once again. Amazing...and it smelled brand new too!
I did the exterior only, which is a hand wash, clay bar, buff, and wax (there might be more). He also vacuumed the inside carpets. -

This is way over-due. I visited Jay in the summer, and he thoroughly deserves the 5 stars. Not only was he very accommodating with the schedule (I wanted to get in short-notice), but he was extremely pleasant and refreshingly honest.
I dropped off my car the day after a long drive to and from Door County, and there were more bugs plastered on the front side than there are ants in an ant-hill. Jay didn't miss a beat - he had the car ready before the estimated time, and pick-up/payment was a breeze. His service was outstanding - he had the interior and exterior brand-spanking new. He gave me some great tips on keeping the wax fresh, and threw in some microfiber cleaning cloths. What impressed me most was that he didn't over-sell his services - he said since I park in a heated garage, I shouldn't need to visit him more than once every 6 months, tops. I plan to - Feb will be 6 months, and I'm scheduling early. -

Dropped off my car this morning, and it was ready in about 5 hours. (which is about time it takes for a detail) I got a full interior and exterior detail with clay bar treatment. The car is immaculate. Showroom quality definitely.
Best part, he went over everything he did on the car with me.
If you value your car and want to catch looks when you're driving down the street, go to Jay. Or, if your ride has lost some of its original lustre, take it to Jay. -

A hidden gem! Literally, this place is pretty tough to find, but it is absolutely worth the search.
Jay did an incredible job detailing my Volvo S60. For a car with 107,000 miles, he brought back the original paint shine and luster. The interior looks fantastic. His professionalism and attention to detail far exceeded my expectations. Thanks Jay... I will be back! -

Jay and his guys are fantastic. I made an appointment on a Friday morning, and they finished my SUV in about 4 hours. Jay is very responsive and professional, and his work is top-notch. There were a few things they could not fix, and he was quick to point out why. I would definitely use Jay again. Probably the best car detailing service in all of Chicagoland.

I have recently relocated to the Chicago area and was looking for an expert to carefully take care of my car. I drive a limited edition Volvo XC90 Ocean Race. I did my research and found Jay on Yelp. When I dropped my car off he went through the entire vehicle and asked me if there was anything I wanted him to work on. Not thinking about it much I went to the office. When I picked up my car I was extremely impressed. My car didn't look that good they day I picked it up from the show room floor. He not only made it shine like it had never before but it went through every detail that it he had covered. I within a few hours of being home had already schedule to bring in my 2010 Volvo S40R. I will tell you this once Jay gets working on your car you will be impressed with the results and so will everyone else.

I dont give out 5 unless they actually deserve it and Jay does. He did great work on my E39 BMW. Exterior/Interior are looking great he has a nice location in River North easy to get with his directions. I would recommend to anyone looking to make their car look its best. Price is fair for the amount of work put in. He even got through the brake grime build up on one of my wheels that has been torture for me to get through. He is professional and courteous and is happy to explain all he did. Check him out your car will smile back at you when he is done.

i yelped this place, and really wanted my baby pampered, she just got back from a 3 day desert hike... Boy was i in for another trip!
i figured "hard to find" was my kinda place. i love "hole-in-the-wall" places that do great jobs. i started out at 3:00 on lasalle st looking for this place. after 2 circles, i located the building marked "325 lasalle", so i parked my car and walked inside. I figured i would stop being a stupid guy refusing to ask for directions, so i let go of my ego and asked the desk man about the detail shop. He directed me to go north on lasalle a few blocks, make a u turn, then proceed down the ramp. And ask the parking attendant about it.
Not a big deal.
Once i was UNDER building 325 N Lasalle, i found myself in a sketchy loading/ docking zone, full of box trucks making deliveries, and a cars parked around, workers moving boxes, etc.
Little sketchy, Not a big deal.
After 5 minutes of driving around, the parking attendant booth was still empty, and no one was around to help me out. i even parked my car, walked around, and poked my head into doorways. a few lower level kitchens, work stations, OK, it's getting pretty dark way back here, deserted building, meat cleavers swinging from chains... eh
Not a big deal. so i got BACK in my car, and spent 5 minutes googling it from my blackberry. once i located the number, i was back on top of lasalle st, and called.....
and FINALLY, i got an answer. I spoke to an irritated man, who simply said" call this number : 878787878(example)'
1. a little hard to find, OK
2. the people in the building can't even help you ,OK
3. When you finally get fed up and pull over to google the number, then call the business directly for directions, and they still can't help you. NOT OK
= thanks for wasting an hour of my time.
I had such an awful time, i created a YELP account, just for this review. great customer service/ not so much.
Later that day: I did receive a response from "jay" explaining the problems, this,that, out of my control (yada yada.) which was sincere. I understand the value of great customer service. So i will schedule for a week from now, to see if i can turn this negative experience into a GREAT one.
