I have been ordering from Austin pizza for a while. I am gluten free.  I was really disappointed the first time I had their gluten free pizza. However, it has been better each time I have ordered. Today's gf pizza was so good I worried they gave me a regular pizza. It was not cracker like at all. They have lots of various options for toppings.

I like that it is an Austin company. They run a coupon on the back of HEB's receipt that you can get a small free if you order a specialty large.

In general the delivery people are very nice. Delivery time is almost always on the high end of their range and sometimes a little over.

This is a local business that is trying to self-destruct with their horrible customer service. I stopped using them a few years ago because of this, and I had hoped a few years would've improved the situation. But, alas, they still suck. I'm not sure why they think they're in a position to be this way. I mean, it's not like they have such an awesome product that people will buy it regardless. Their pizza is really just okay by most standards.

Their delivery takes about an hour (or two) longer than their competition, and if you try to do carry-out, their face-to-face service isn't much better. Seriously, the management at Austin's Pizza needs to address this, or they'll be out of business.

They won't be getting any more of my business. That's for sure.

I agree with the other reviews -- their customer service is pretty bad.  The employees are friendly enough but they consistently make mistakes.  I've ordered from them three times:

    1. Ordered cheese-less pizza due to dairy allergy.  Pizza arrives 1 hour later covered in cheese with note about allergy.  Fail.  They issued a refund but weren't able to deliver another one, so we were left without dinner that night.

    2. Ordered carryout this time.  Went in 30 minutes later as instructed only to find the place packed with angry customers.  Learned that my pizza hadn't even been made yet.  Waited another 15 minutes for it to be made.

    3. Ordered pizza with mushrooms and fresh jalapenos.  Received pizza with fresh jalapenos and pickled jalapenos.  No mushrooms.

I think three tries is enough; if they can't make a simple pizza, I'm going to stick with Papa Johns.  Also, I emailed them about these issues and they never bothered to reply.

Gluten free pizza delivered? Really? REALLY?

They seem to use the gluten free kneads crusts (real thin, 10inch?) which are awesome and their toppings are fresh and varied. Delivery is on time and everyone on the phone and in person is polite.

As is usual, the gluten free crust is quite a bit more ($5 which is what I think Brick Oven charges as well) but we think it's worth it especially when we can be lazy and have it come to our door.

    I love you Austin's Pizza!

PS- For some reason gluten free crust isn't listed on their online pdf menu but when you actually order online and choose the 10inch pizza, it is shown as an option.

Feeling like a coach potato one night this week, I ordered the "Super Pep" which is a double pepperoni and double cheese pizza.  Super yummy!  I called at dinner time and it took the pizza about 35 minutes to get here, which I think is quite reasonable.  The ingredients seemed high quality, the sauce was seasoned really nicely, and the pizza was neatly assembled.  The crust was not the best ever, a little chewy, but I still enjoyed it.

They didn't bring any extras (cheese or peppers) but I was at home, so it didn't matter.  I do think there was a small delivery fee, but it could just be because of where I live.  In any case, I'll definitely order from here again.

So since writing this review a while back I have to amend now that I know I have Celiac's Disease, which means not bread or gluten for me. While I very much enjoyed their normal pizzas, their gluten free option is terrible.  The crust is soggy and overly sweet.  It's like have a pizza on top of a pancake laden with maple syrup. For me I am done with Austin's Pizza, however I feel the old review to applies to those Gluten lovers out there.

We had ordered the "Farmers market" which is a ton of veggies and wow.  I'll be ordering that again soon.

This specific one seems good and fast, but the delivery is 2 bucks extra and takes 45 minutes, so picking it us seems the best option because it only took like 15 minutes.

Pretty good pizza, from a local Austin "chain".  The quality was a cut above Dominos/Pizza Hut/et al, and prices were in line with the pack.  If you're going to order pizza, give them a shot - you may be pleasantly surprised.

The regular crust was chewy, but kinda good!  I may try the thin crust the next go around, to see how they do.  Not a whole lot of Austin flair from this straightforward pizza delivery operation, but very decent pizza nonetheless.  I do believe the delivery guy was high, though - does that count?  Sure it does!

I really really want to love this chain. I love supporting local establishments, but this is not good pizza.

I've tried this pizza twice. Once when I first moved here from Chicago, and another time just recently.

The crust is semi-reminiscent of cardboard. It's greasy almost like fried bread with a texture similar to foccacia. Other than being greasy, its pretty tasteless.

The sauce, if you can find it, tastes kinda like Ragu.

The toppings otherwise seem to be of good quality, though I don't know if the spinach is fresh or canned. (Canned spinach on pizza is just not right.)

I would not recommend this place to anyone from NY or Chicago, because you will not like it. It might be edible if you think of it as a thin crust foccacia pizza. But gourmet, it is not.

Instead, head to Homeslice. It's worth the trip.

We always order pizza from here and love it! Prices are decent and delivery time as well. They have vegan cheese and other vegetarian options too.

Definitely better than the pizza chains we have around. I personally love the farmers market!

Austin's Pizza has more of a mom-and-pop pizzeria feel to it; which can be both good and bad. The national chains have precisely measured frozen ingredients, industrial pizza assembly lines, and precision timed conveyor belt ovens to compensate for hiring pimple-faced teenagers instead of master pizza chefs. Austin's Pizza has none of that; no industrial equipment, no pimple-faced teenagers, but also NO MASTER PIZZA CHEFS (unless they were cleverly disguised as grunge refugees from the 90s).

Still, the pizza is pretty good, usually a little tastier than the national chains, though expect some inconsistencies (sometimes within the same pizza). The prices are good; the lunch special is $7.29 for a 10" pizza and a soda, and that's a lot of pizza for one person. For you health-conscious pizza fanatics out there (rrriiiiight) they also have a "whole wheat" crust available, though I can't vouch for it's nutritional value (and apparently neither can their website).

The dining area is kinda meager and the booths are pretty uncomfortable, so I wouldn't bring a first date here. Probably better off doing take-out or delivery.

Pizza was good but do you have to play that satanic music?
If you turned it down so your customers couldn't hear it that would help.  When we were there, the place was empty.  If you have more respect for your customers you might have more of them.

Never had a bad experience customer service-wise.  The pizza is just OK. Not much flavor, recently ordered two pizzas with different toppings and if you did a blind taste test, I doubt you could tell the difference.  I want to like this place, always pulling for the local, but the pizza is not as good as some of the chains in my opinion.

We really love this Austin's Pizza.  It's better than the greasy offerings of the national chains. We can taste more of the veggie and meat toppings without it being overpowered by the cheese and crust.   Also, the brownies are divine.  That said, I'm only giving it three stars because of the less than stellar customer service when I go to pick it up at this location.  It's like the customers are bothering them. lol  I had to wait a total of 30 minutes to pick up my pizza and wings even though I had called it in.  Granted they were busy, but it looked as if they were more interested in getting the home delivery orders out the door instead of waiting on the people in shop.  We've had it delivered and that's better.  Either way, the pizza is good and this is where we now get our pizza fix.

Pretty good pizza. I think they expect you to order takout, even though they have seats. Every time I go to eat there I always feel like I'm doing it wrong. The staff is friendly and I would chose this place over Pizza Hut or Papa John's any day.

This was the first pizza i tried when i moved to Austin...As much as I love to support locally owned businesses, I can't in good conscience recommend this pizza to anyone.  You know it's bad when it ranks below national chains.  How they manage to maintain a following is a mystery to me.  Save your money and coupons and order elsewhere.  Very unremarkable and a waste of money.

Definitely not a high customer service establishment.  We were the only dine-in customers when we were there, and I really didn't feel welcome, just tolerated.  Although we ordered "for here" and sat in a booth, when the pizza arrived, the server just walked out with a pizza in a box. I had to ask for the sodas, and they were handed over in cans, with no cups or straws. (I was able to get two straws from them, kept under the counter, by asking.)  Plasticware and plates were "over there."

Booths are wood with no padding. There was music, but I don't recall it being too loud or obnoxious.

The pizza is adequate. About like Dominos or Pizza Hut in quality.  I think we'll look elsewhere for our pizza from now on

The pizza is always ok. It's definitely less greasy and some fresher/higher quality ingredients than the major chains, but you do pay more for that.  The wheat crust is definitely better than the cardboard they serve as a wheat crust at Mangia.

I had a weird experience picking up a to-go order last week from this location. I think the cashier, who I guess was a supervisor/manager, was probably having a bad day because he kept scolding his co-workers in front of the customers (even though his personal incompetence kept me waiting for no reason).

When I came in to pick up my order, he got my name and looked at the one or two pizzas that were ready and waiting, and then told me mine was still working and would just be a few minutes. After about twenty minutes, he asks what my name is again, looks at that same pizza that's been sitting there, and says "oh, it's been there the whole time" and yells back at someone for not writing down names when taking orders. I ordered online, so my name was clearly printed out on the ticket on the box, so I guess he was just (making a poor attempt at) saving face by blaming someone else for his apparent inability to recognize where the name is printed on the labels that he looks at all day long. Bottom line, 20 minutes wasted sitting in the store waiting for cold pizza from someone who needed to take some deep breaths (or take up smoking or something).
