I had a really great experience with Austin Window Fashions. The salesperson showed me around the showroom and made recommendations based on my personal style. She came to my house a few days later and brought options for me see. I chose contemporary shutters for the front of my house. She matched the paint color accurately to my window trim. The shutters arrived in the timeframe she promised -- something like 6 weeks -- and the installer came out in no time. The installer was great too. He stayed an extra hour and tweaked the shutters until they were exactly the way I wanted them. The best part is, they have a lifetime warranty.
I appreciate the excellent customer service and now my house looks great from the street. -

The company went to extraordinary lengths to ensure my total satisfaction throughout the sales process as well as during and following installation. The staff is knowledgeable, pricing is very competitive and service is highly efficient.

In our lovely world of Central Market, Whole Foods, Nordstrom, Lexus of Austin, etc. this firm does not have the remotest grasp on customer service whatsoever. Give them your money, get your blinds, and then fend for yourself. The people who answer the phones give wrong information regarding service, and there is only one person in the entire firm capable of writing up a service order, and she is frequently out. Repairs have to be shipped to Houston and can take more than a week to get back. Use another company. I will not purchase anything further from them. Call me spoiled, but for spending this kind of money, we expect more in return.
***Note that this company did decide to send in our service order separately from the usual weekly shipment, for which we are grateful. Once we receive the blinds back, I will update the review.***The blinds came back from Houston two weeks later, but weren't repaired properly. Fortunately, AWF employs a great repairman who knows these mechanisms cold, so he rebuilt it and brought it to us on Saturday morning. He said to expect the cord to wear out again in three years, so maybe I'll make reservations for the repair...in the meantime, AWF should take out a life insurance policy on this guy and download his brain or clone him.
