So surprisingly, Austin Shoe Hospital is not a homegrown sole, but a member of the largest shoe repair company in the world.

Only to be found in Texas, "The Shoe Hospital" is the company umbrella under which Austin Shoe Hospital huddles along with Houston Shoe Hospital and Cobblestone Shoe Hospital (serving San Antonio & Dallas/Ft. Worth).

I had a wonderful experience at Austin Shoe Hospital on Bee Caves Rd. and would recommend the place to anyone. My boss needed an old pair of brown leather dress shoes restored asap. I took my marching orders and landed at ASH. From start to finish, I had a perfectly pleasant time. Friendly, thoughtful staff and fair prices (yes, even for Westlake). Also, they're open from 7:30am to 6pm, so you've got options if you need to drop your shoes off before or after work.

It took about a week (they needed serious work), but the shoes came back gleaming. The man said, "We'll get them looking like new." They got them looking like new alright. My boss was thrilled. They restructured the sole and resuscitated the dead leather. The pair even smelled new!
