I had the pleasure of taking one of the 90-minute general tours offered by Austin Overtures Sightseeing last Saturday - what a treat! Rick, our driver and tour guide, had a great sense of humor and was always concerned about the comfort of his van load of folks. The trip was so informative and has inspired me to see even more of Austin and learn about it's rich history. I highly recommend this tour to not only those who have visitors coming into town but also for those who live here just for fun!

Only in Austin for a few hours, and we wanted an easy way to learn about the city. Austin Overtures tour was perfect! We got to be lazy and carted around in an A/C van while our driver took us all around the city and hill country. She was great...but I forgot her name, sorry! Very welcoming and knowledgeable. The tours are 90 min and you see everything. Definitely worth the 25 bucks a person.
Only downside was all the old people traveling with us bitching about climbing into a van, and then making some discriminatory comments during the tour. But, you never know who you'll get stuck with on these things. At least there were no screaming children! -

I recently had out of town guests visiting. I wanted to show them some of the highlights of Austin and it was suggested we contact Austin Overtures. Even though I have been an Austinite for 35 years I saw and learned a lot from our tour guide Chris. He was great. I recommend the tour to all.
