Review from Rachel D.
I am struggling to find the right words to say how totally AWESOME Austin FIT Center is. To say its awesome just does not do it enough justice. After training with Steve many years ago then loosing him to another city for way to long, I tried several other places to work out and they just didn't stick. It takes a lot to get me motivated to do much of anything but somehow Steve knows how to bring it out of me. For example, I loath and detest jump roping and running but dammed if I'm not doing it, ok trying it, and I could easily not at least try. He takes his job very seriously and only wants the best for his students. And just because I said "very seriously" does not mean we don't have fun because we do for sure.
Steve can take us from a totally kick ass work out to a slower paced technique based class. And again, just because I said "slower paced" does NOT by any means mean you won't sweat.
When working on the self defense techniques Steve will take the time to be sure we know how to really work them so we will be safe out there. The self defense he teaches will really have you feeling strong and empowered (as his motto states). And speaking from a woman's point of view, yes ladies, WE CAN do it. Everything we learn is real world stuff that can potentially save your life. Ok, no, nothing is 100% guaranteed to work but you stand a whole hell of a lot better chance knowing this stuff then not knowing it.
Now, if you are looking for fitness, you WILL get it here. Without question this is a hard, bad ass work out. Steve knows how to take the normal squat or push up to a whole new level. It is amazing how strong you can get by punching and kicking. I love kicking by the way. And we do use weights during some classes but for the most part gaining the muscle is coming from those push up's, squats, punches and kicks. And holding the pads is not as easy as one may think, its just as much of a work out for the pad holder as the one doing the punching. Building stamina and endurance comes with everyday that you work out here. Getting rid of stress is a bonus.
Austin FIT Center is great for men and women and if you are looking for a great challenge this is the place to be. Come join us, you will love it. -

For those that know me, you know that I will do anything to get out of working out! I am lazy, I can't stand running, and I get bored super easy with most fitness routines.
This is where Steve and Austin FIT Center comes into play. Steve is awesome!! He is a really big, "Ultimate Fighter" looking guy, but he is a total sweetheart and can switch his style to fit all clients - soccer moms, UFC guys, normal guys, and lazy people like me! He is a great motivator and knows that a softer style works better with me while a stronger style may work with others.
I can't say enough about him - I've tried fitness centers and worked with personal trainers and had ok experiences, but the Austin FIT Center provides me with the flexible approach that I need - plus it makes working out FUN! -

I am so thankful for Steve Jimenez and Austin F.I.T. Center! I get bored so easily with the traditional gym. Even though they may have lots to offer, i cannot seem to find my motivation in them.
Austin F.I.T. gives me a great total body workout as well as building strength and endurance! I work in sales and my job is very fast paced and stressful at times. I love working out hard at Steve's gym in the evening and just letting all that stress go. The people there are like my second family and we all work our butts off together during Steve's classes. So while Austin F.I.T. offers kickboxing and self defense training that I cannot get in a traditional gym, it also offers a great group dynamic where people are helping to hold me accountable for showing up to class and giving it all I've got while I am there. All these things together really motivate me and I just truly enjoy being a part of Austin F.I.T. Center.
I bought a 1 year membership at a gym back in October because it was at a really great price. I have been maybe 4 times since. Steve's gym opened up Jan 1 and since then I've rarely missed a class - if I did it was due to unavoidable reasons. I look forward to going to Austin F.I.T. every day,
I recommend trying it out! Once you walk in the door you will never want to leave :)
