Our family has worked with Austin for many years on multiple residential property loans. Our experience with him has been fantastic and we would highly recommend him to others.
A few highlights of our working relationship with Austin include:
He is an excellent communicator and explains all the fine details of rates, terms, timing and process very clearly. He listens carefully to what you are looking for and offers you various choices for the type and length of the loan that works best for your situation based on current market conditions.
He is dedicated and hardworking to finding the best rates for the loan that you choose. During the closing process he is with you every step of the way to oversee and act as a guide throughout the transaction process.
Most importantly, Austin is an extremely trustworthy and honest person of character. It is not a surprise to see so many other positive reviews of him here. -

Austin and the Opes Team were great to work with. Great for first-time home buyers. We locked in at a great interest rate and Austin was easy to reach at any time during the entire escrow period. I would definitely recommend Opes and Austin for your next home loan.

Austin and the Opes Team are great and have my highest recommendation. I have made two loans with them. They were successful where others failed. They kept their promises and communicated throughout the process. The Opes team was very responsive and smart in navigating the many challenges in qualifying for and funding my loan.
Details:
I own a 3-unit building in $an Francisco and trying to get a new loan in 2010 was a real challenge. While the interest rates were great, my credit was super and my on-time 4 year history with my existing loan was perfect. But: not all rent qualifies as income, if you own a business that get's tricky, you need to have an excellent appraiser to get a full value appraisal and even when you do, the paperwork and coordination with the existing lenders is a nightmare. How do you spell nightmare? I spell it Bank of America.
Austin worked with me to get my PITI income ratios to qualify by working with my full financial situation in detail, which required his intelligence, experience and my trust (which he earned).
The Opes Team worked diligently throughout the process to manage paperwork with the existing lenders and get things approved. They also carefully selected a qualified appraisal management company, familiar with San Francisco real estate values. Unlike the banks, they didn't manipulate the appraisal with the cheapest bidder or someone biased to the bank holding company's interests.
I highly recommend Opes and Austin specifically for anyone who has a good loan opportunity and isn't getting the right services from your lender. I wholeheartedly recommend NEVER applying to your bank directly. -

Austin was very patient as he explained the entire loan process, and my options to me. As a first-time home buyer, I really appreciated his ability to make what could have been a confusing and stressful process as easy to understand as possible. I worked with Austin on getting a loan for my first real estate purchase. I was initially working with a friend of mine who is a mortgage broker but the rate Austin was able to get me was much better so I went with him. He was easy to work with and always takes the time to explain things and answer any questions I have. The process went very smoothly and I will definitely use him for my next purchase or refi.
Another bonus is almost every year since i got the loan through Austin he has sent me either giants tickets, cool magazines or a zagat guide. Now that's good business. Austin is the best! You can be assured you will be in great hands working with him. -

Austin is the VERY BEST out there. He was a wonderful help to my husband and I in our purchase of our home. His professionalism and attention to detail is terrific. I've worked with many brokers throughout the years, but Austin by far is the hardest working and most creative mortgage man you'll ever find. He's experienced and truly takes your best interest in account throughout the entire process. Austin steered both our home selling and buying process at the same time.
