I came here to the student clinic for some trouble with my shoulders. I was greeted with a smile from the receptionist and immediately taken back to the student clinic. My clinician was Lennie. She was kind and professional. It's the next day and my arms are feeling better. I'm a bit sore from the cupping but in a good way. I have more range of motion. I can't wait to go back for more!

Dr. Cao has simply changed my life. There is no more succinct way to put it. She hasn't magically made my plethora of chronic issues just VANISH--- nothing is going to do that-- but she has MINIMIZED them beyond my wildest hopes. The amount of bad migraines I get is now 10% of before.. I have lost more than 30 lbs.. my sleep is NEVER going to be " good" it runs in my family, but it's EXTRAORDINARILY less awful than it has been in 40 years, I have had no cold or flu since I have started--- this treatment and this funny kind and brilliant lady have.. I repeat.. changed my life !!!

I visited yesterday for my first acupuncture experience, and it was great. They have an option to see an intern for a discount, which is the route we chose, and it had an impact. I kept an open mind, and my intern focused on my depression, stress, and lack of appetite. By the time I left, I was actually hungry, and that rarely happens. I also slept through the night, and that _never_ happens. She was very good about telling me which particular needles did what, and which ones were more prone to being uncomfortable.

You can buy 5 gift certs. for the cost of 4 (with the interns). The certs. do not cover any herbs, but they don't push herbs on you. My intern suggested alternatives that I already owned and my SO's intern didn't prescribe anything to him.

Perhaps it's a placebo effect, but I don't think so, and I'm usually hard to convince.

Keep in mind that the actual acupuncture clinic is on Fortview, around the corner. I can't review the school, since I haven't attended.

When I came in to TCTCM the first time, I was a little apprehensive about having a student treat me.
On my second appointment I met Ashlyn and decided I had found the perfect intern for me. She is very intuitive and gentle.
Her first partner was Koy who is very good at chinese herbs. Now, she partners with Ryan who is also very gentle.
I love my treatments and feel better and better every week.

This clinic is amazing, it's extremely affordable and you get a lot for your money! It's only $28 for a full hour session with a doctoral student (supervised by a doctor), and they provide affordable Chinese herbs there onsite. I highly recommend going there for all your eastern medicine needs!

Ok-so I'm pretty afraid of needles. However, I have to say the experience was not that bad. The students are great, professional, and supervised. The school calls to follow up and remind you of appts or see if you need to book another. If I wasn't so afraid of needles it probably would've been amazing!

This was my first time to experience accupuncture. I was curious and a little nervous. I was on day 3 suffering from a headache and nothing was providing relief. The student I saw was very nice and courteous. He didn't go into any detail about my treatment (perhaps due to his limited english), but I did receive immediate relief from the headache. I definitely will use accupuncture again, but since I am the curious type and love to learn things, I will probably use someone else next time that hopefully will explain things to me.

I have been going to Austin Acupuncture and have been seeing Haitao Cao, PhD, on a regular basis for the past 3 months, in an attempt to treat my severe insomnia. Dr. Cao is the most caring, sweet, knowledgable acupuncturist and will get to the bottom of your issue with her care plan! At first I was discouraged because my insomnia was not getting any better, but Dr. Cao asked me to be patient because my insomnia had been going on for quite some time, and it may take a while longer to improve.... She was right! She was so patient with me, and sure enough, my insomnia has improved 100%, and I am sleeping like I've never slept before! She checks on your throughout your treatment, and is very sweet, calming, and sincere. I cannot thank Dr. Cao enough! I highly recommend Austin Acupuncture, and namely, Dr. Cao!

Totally forgot about this place since it's been a while, but a friend just asked me if I'd ever done acupuncture, and I was able to highly recommend this place. I've seen students and professors, and been happy with all my experiences. Dr. Mu is the last professor I saw and I recall liking him quite a bit. :)
