We were so lucky to stumble upon this little gem on a Sunday when another sports pub was too crowded. Wow! Peanuts in the shell and permission, (no, more like, "instruction,") to throw em on the floor! Yum!
Supercold Coors Light on tap.
And I have to say, the BEST and friendliest staff around. No moody bartenders acting put-upon when you need another beer...in fact, they are usually one step ahead of you...and with a smile to boot! LOVE this place. In fact, I almost did not review it bc I don't want it to get too crowded on a slow week night when we want to watch Giants with some atmosphere but a place quiet enough to have a conversation when you want to.
PS-I hear their liquor license might be upgraded soon! Shh!!! -

Santa Rosa, CA
In short, it's a sports bar. Burgers are their specialty.
* Service: Quick and friendly. No table service. You'll need to go to the bar to order and pickup both food and drink.
* Beverage: Decent selection of beers in bottle and on tap. My Anchor didn't taste quite right. Too much carbonation maybe. Luckily NOT the soapy taste sometimes found at other bars.
* Food: Large portions. Burger was cooked right, and tasted pretty good. Did not come with the bun I ordered however. Fries are wedge type and pretty good as well. Jalapeño poppers were pretty bad.
VERDICT: If you're looking for a sports bar, this place is OK. If I just want beer and a bite, I'll go to Russian River Brewing Company. -

GO GIANT'S! If you are a fan at all and you want a great family place to enjoy some nice fried food and a good game, this is the place! We were here for the nfl playoffs too and it was just as fun! They have outside seating (which is super cool when your watching opening day for the Giants and sitting outside under the heater in the hail!) I know the owner has a lot to do with how wonderful this place is and i just want to say THANK YOU!

This is a great neighborhood place. I work downtown and my friend and I go here to unwind and sit outside under the heaters where they have flat screen tv's. Good hearty grilled food. Love the chicken strips and onion rings with hot wing sauce. Addicted. Great casual spot.

Best sportsbar in downtown Santa Rosa! Always a game on one of the many flat screen T.V's, if the SF Giants are playing, it is guarenteed to be on! Armand the owner, always has a smile and a good story to tell. Also the beers on tap compliment the pub style food very well. A+

This is the best sports bar in Santa Rosa.
There are more than ample televisions and the receptive bartenders will generally change the channel to put your game of preference on at any time. During Giants games the bar is filled with local fans and plenty of good humored discussion. During football season the bar is often packed to brimming on Sundays so if this is your thing you should get there early.
The food is classic sports bar selection, yet the burgers are always cooked to temperature and the condiment bar loaded with goodies. The fries are thick and tasty and the beer cold. Beers run from $2.50 (for Pabst) to around $5 a pint. There is wine available as well but no hard liquor. The owner is awesome and it is clear that he started this bar because he couldn't find the right place to catch a local game. Well we thank him because we don't have to worry about it anymore. -

Nice place. Such neat things on the wall and tons of pictures. They are definitely into sports here, but that's cool also.
Great burger - I had the western burger. Loved the fries and also like that you can add your own condiments.
I will for sure be checking this place out again! -

This place sucks. Not even a full bar, only beer and wine. And the tap beer leaves a lot to be desired. They're passing something off as Anchor Steam, like Michelob or something. The crowd was something out of People of Walmart.

I love this place.
It reminds me of some of the sports bars in the city...not a bad seat in the house. If there isn't a TV attached to your table, you will still be able to watch at least three others. Various sports on and a staff that rings a bell when a local time scores.
The beer selection on tap is good. Local NorCal breweries. The burgers were incredible. I keep wanting to go back just for the burgers.
Good crowd of people all for various teams. The bartenders were really nice and made sure to take care of everyone, even when they were serving food and getting drinks.
So happy to live a block from here.Listed in: Sonoma County- Why I won't…, ROTD

We've spent a few fun nights here, and one rowdy one watching Rugby world cup! Great place for beers, GOOD happy hour prices, and a burger/fry/motza stick style grill in the back. LOTS of TV's, and beer and wine, but no hard alcohol. Fun bar for a couple beers or to catch a game or both!

Before hitting up a birthday party, my grandma, my lumberjack, and I rolled in for a drink and some snacks (because it's not cool to show up hungry to a party). It was pretty nice and mellow that night,.
I ordered up some beers, fries, and onion rings and we learned a few things that evening:
1. My dude's Spanish is pretty good
2. There were some fairly tall people on my grandma's side of the family
3. I still want an Eric Chavez bobblehead
4. Grandma really really loves onion rings.
Ausiello's, if I had a hat, I would tip it to you. Thanks for making the kind of onion rings that make my grandma happy.Listed in: Loli's Grandma Likes...

My job requires me to travel constantly and when I checked in to my hotel (Hilton) they recommended this joint...this place SUCKS!!! It's a sausage fest with nothing but old dudes...bartenders never asked me if I wanted a drink...I guess if you are not a regular you don't get service in this dump...If you are from out of town don't go here...you will be ignored...I ended up at The Ticket...hot bartenders and friendly regulars....

I think we stumbled onto a hot sports local spot when we were looking for a good burger place instead. The burgers were good, nothing special though. Skip the onion rings. They don't taste like much.
Ambiance-noisy with really bad music. Awesome for a sports bar but the music was bad for a sports bar. Pink? R&B and Rap?
Other than that, it looks like an awesome sports bar! -

I went here with my mom and sister today in search for some place new. When we first walked in we were skeptical considering it was a bar but were greeted by the owner almost immediately. He explained that it was a bar however the food was excellent so we decided to stay. The food was excellent as well as fair priced. Burger fries and a coke $12.50. Cokes refillable not beer. Lol the owner was super friendly and funny. Will defiantly go back. Can't wait to bring my husband there.

Meh, decent food. Nothing spectacular. I guess you have to know people to really appreciate the place.
Most of these regulars have known eachother since preschool and don't really care to know anyone else. It's just the farmtown mentality of SR. Nothing new.
Food is average, the flatscreens are cool, and the location is good. -

Great lunch time location. Burgers and Onion Rings were excellent today as always. Friendly atmosphere. They have lots of local sports memorabilia, huge collection of bobble head sports figures.
Good beer selection inside and outside tables available.
Instead of popcorn or pretzels for bar food, they had hot peanuts in the shell.
Owner took time to talk to my son. Told him the only way he could have some peanuts was if he promised to throw the shells on the floor. Made an instant friend out of my son. -

I discovered this way-better-than-your-average sports bar when looking for a last minute joint to watch the 2006 Rose Bowl. I was heartily entertained and am still thinking about it with fond memories months later. It was packed, but with fantastic cheap food and lots of beers and a vibe that made me scream with an exuberance I never felt for football before.
Even if it's not football season I'm there every few weeks 'cause I live down the street now, and you can't beat the cheap PBRs.Listed in: My Neighborhood

I've been going to this bar off and on (mostly off) since the day it opened and if you are into sports... This is the place. Dozens of televisions showing several different sports/games at any time. Personally, I need liquor in a bar, so this isn't my kind of place, but my friends enjoy it, and I can understand why. Warm peanuts, and you can toss the shells on the ground. An extensive grill menu, and a fine burger. Several good beers on tap, and a few in the bottle. Wine and champagne should that be your style, and the small area out front has overhead heaters AND TVs for the smoking crowd.
That said, being a regular here is not rewarded. No matter how much you spend, or how long you've been a customer, you will pay. Full-price. Always. I've never been a regular, but I know many, and they pay. Almost always. I prefer a "friendlier" relationship with my bars. And I may have slightly exaggerated. I think I must have received a couple of free beers in... six years.
[UPDATE: I have spent a few nights in here recently, and can now say that the beer flows more... "freely" than I had suggested. Added a star.]
I recommend the grilled-cheese sandwich on rye with ham and tomato. A little expensive at $7, but a perfect 10pm snack when you've got more drinking ahead. -

I've been wanting to come here for a while.
Of course, I want to eat here too, but I came late night and i was there mostly to drink.
I likey.
The bartenders are awesome, my friend knows them all real well, but I feel like I still would have gotten stellar service had I not been with their friend. The people that hung out there are not the type of people I would associate myself with on a regular basis, but thats just me, they were all rather decent. Just not my types.
I'll go back to try the food and we'll see how that goes, but for now, they's got five stars.
UPDATE:
I did end up going in to eat. Got a burger...real good. i totes recommend. -

I stumbled upon this place one night with my girlfriend and we found ourselves in the middle of a man-pit! It was Baseball season and basket ball was on but we snagged a table outside and fell inlove. Pitchers of Hefeweizen $14, Anchor Steam $12. The food is not bad, I usually get a hot dog if I'm feeling frisky and want something greasy. The bartenders make the food and serve your drinks so it takes a little time. They have a salad bar if you want that instead of fries. The fries are bigger chip size and I love them. They play good music, there is outside seating, smoking is ok out there. Outside they have two TV and inside they have high tables throughout with big screens all over the bar.
Go for the beer, stay for the game, eat the food and after the game you may find yourself playing dice with randoms you just met, or my favorite: reading the Bohemian astrology. -

My favorite place to be on a Sunday morning/afternoon to watch a football game! The perfect little sports bar to go and cheer for you favorite team. This place gets packed so come as early as possible! The tables are limited and to get a good one is hard to do. Once people have a table, they are usually there all day to watch all of the games. So on any given Sunday you can catch me here having a beer, wearing Red & Gold, cheering for the Niners!

This is considered one of THE go-to places for a burger in Santa Rosa.
This is a place my boyfriend and I consider a staple. We don't come here too regularly anymore (only for cutting back expenses) as this place is a little pricey, but it's totally worth it.
I've usually been here for lunch. Yes, we always have a beer. I love that they have a really good decent selection on tap. My favorite pints are a little more expensive here than at the Black Rose or the Stout Brothers which surprised me but I think Ausiello's just did a general price increase.
I think we don't come here too often for nights of drinking as we just don't go down town that often anymore, but more because I don't like walking through a line of smokers that will usually be littered around the front (even though technically it's not a smoking area) that you'd have to walk through to get inside. Honestly though that happens at most of the bars in Santa Rosa. Surprisingly it's why I love going to the Zoo (the smokers are out back) despite that being even further from my house.
At any rate, this is a really grubbin lunch place. The portions are large so you really do seem to get what you are paying for. They recently increased all their burgers to half pound which is a plus if you're into quantity.
The last time I went I ordered the volcano burger which comes with bacon, cheese, and some kind of "volcano" sauce. In all honesty couldn't really taste any what I assumed to be a spicy additional sauce so I went and added A1 and spicy mustard.
That's really what I love about this place ... the condiments. Seriously, if you are a condiment on my sandwich, or love extras in your salad, this is a good place. Mind you it isn't the largest salad bar by any stretch of the means but the ingredients are always fresh and they have a big enough selection you'll find most of your favorite ingredients.
I compare this place to typical pub/bar food in the fact that you'll find your usual fried assortment of onion rings, fries, etc. But they do use all those fried goodies in all kinds of ways on the menu. Pretty much if you see an ingredient they have they'll fashion it into a sandwich for you.
The ambiance is heaven for a sports guru. Every table has a tv (just hope you don't get seated under it, but even if you do there are more on the opposite wall above the bar) and one has virtual games. I love matching or differences (changes names depending where you're at). But you kind of have to be lucky to get that table, especially if it's crowded.
This place has us coming back every once in a while when we're really in the mood for a burger. Don't get me wrong, I love the chicken sandwiches they have too, but hey, you can chicken nearly anywhere.
Every bartender, or food prep person, is always noticing you and addresses you no matter how crowded the place is. At least, that's my experience consistently. You may still need to wait a bit for your drink but they do a damn good job of making you feel welcomed and appreciated there. And in my mind that's the best thing a bartender or server can do.
Technically I'm not a huge sports fan (yeah I watch the super bowl and the world cup) but I still find reason regularly to come back to Ausiello's even though everyone loves it as a sports bar. It does really stand up on it's own as a restaurant. -

You cannot beat the $5 football breakfast, nor can you turn down the beer specials on a Sunday morning.
Some of the food choices are a little strange (the chicken fingers are always cooked 2 shades shy of 'burnt in the depths of hell black' ) but you can get a suprsingly good salad here.
I like that they have PBR on tap (what? yes, i'm serious)
Private TVs at each of the tables, and often on Sundays if you don't come with a group, you can find a spot thats rooting for the team you want and be welcomed into the mix.
a word of warning - if you are a hot chick, and you come in with say 2 other chicks - guys will take it as a sign that you are there to flirt with them, so be prepared.
note** single women looking for a man - come in here on a sunday and dress hot and learn about football - you may get a date out of the deal too. -

I had been looking since moving from Baltimore for a good spot to watch football and grab some food. I finally found the spot. Ample TVs if the game you want isn't on they'll make sure it gets on. Good rowdy crowd.
The food is really good too for what it is. It's bar food. Great burgers and chicken breasts. The Sunday morning breakfast is alot of food for a great price too. Best fries in town too with lots of good dipping options.
Seats are hard to come by on Sundays though. -

Often the end or starting point for a night of drinking... great service and an awesome owner that loves sports. The bar tender will give you dice cups to place games while you hang out. Beware this place get PACKED durring big sports events. You will no doubt run into or see someone from highschool if you go here durring the holidays.Food is the stock standard bar stuff... little pricey but well worth it.

Oakland, CA
This is a great place for lunch if you want a good burger and fries. They have this salad bar type of thing with all the condiments and I would usually go absolutely ape shit and take as many pickles as humanly possible. What can I say, I have a thing for pickles. Anyway, they have decent beers on tap and there's enough TVs so pretty much anything you want to watch will be on. At lunch you can coax the bartender into putting MXC on. Who doesn't love eating good food, drinking good beer and watching redubbed Japanese game shows? I know I do.
At night it gets busy and you have to deal with old people drinking or people getting $5 pitchers of PBR.....oh Christ, yea, I forgot to mention....THEY HAVE PABST BLUE RIBBON....ON TAP! Forgive the capitalization, but honestly, any place that serves PBR on tap deserves a few golf claps. -
Review from Aaron S.
Tempe, AZ
Ausiello's is easily Santa Rosa's best sports bar but it's definitely more than that. I'm not a big sports fan but I almost always enjoy myself when I stop in for a few beers.
The grilled food (burgers and such) is pretty decent considering it's cooked by bartenders in between pulling taps. There are plenty of condiments and salad bar fare to dress up your burgers, etc. The french fries are also great because they are cut to the perfect size optimizing volume to surface-area ratio, fried to ideal crispness, and seasoned just right. Warmed peanuts are also available as a nice snack.
Every time I'm here, I sit out on the patio which is equipped with two flat screen TVs and two massive gas heaters that make it comfortable on even the coldest night.
The only major drawback to this place is that on nights with important sporting events (especially football), it's just way to crowded and the scene is dominated by meat-heads. Just avoid those days and you'll be happy you found Ausiello's on 5th. -
Review from Gary T.
Sanford, FL
This place rocks! I've only been a couple of times and it was a really great experience each time. Everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is just like being at a game. The place gets really packed when football is on so get there early or you may find yourself standing for hours.
Food is great, service is fast, and the owner is a hoot! I'll definitely be going back when football season is here again. -
Review from Brian K.
Santa Rosa, CA
When I go out for a beer, this is where I go. Its hands down the best place to watch sports in Santa Rosa. The burgers are great, I usually get the patty melt. Good grilled cheeses, and of course the regular bar food like wings and strips. The chili is store bought, but they add each hamburger patty, onions, etc and they top it with cheese. Not a huge fan of the "steak fries" style, but if someone has an order I always find myself snagging the smaller crunchier fries.
The owner Armand is a great guy. He is always around to talk sports or whatever is on his mind. He let me bring in old school nintendos and we used to have a weekly RBI Baseball tournament. Also, I host an annual frisbee golf tournament and he opens the bar an hour early to accomodate our group.
They have a couple of megatouch machines (wipe your fingers clean before you touch the screen!) and now they have a world series of poker game which is fun. I was sad when he got rid of the shuffle board table as it was where I met my wife. But we will always come back to Ausiellos to watch games, eat dinner, or just hang out and have a beer. -
Review from Jake K.
Seattle, WA
I have to be honest, this place is at best an adequate hole in the wall joint.
Don't get me wrong they actually have a pretty decent selection of beers on tap. I don't know if I would praise the $5 dollar Pabst like one review I read, but ultimately I think this is just indicative of the individuals who frequent this establishment. Also, they do offer wine but nothing really worth getting excited about.
Having been there on numerous occasion over the past couple years I've noticed a few things.
#1- the food is marginal and not much consistency. It's hard to get a hamburger and fries wrong, but you never know exactly what you're gonna get when you order. However, in a bar I suppose that is to be expected.
#2- Usually crowed on the weekends (good for business, yes) but the crowd that is drawn to here is obnoxious and at times to the point of out of control where the employees seem to not able to control the clientele.
Bottom line this place seems to draw the majority of weekend drunkards and not a whole lot else during the week. If you like large quantities of cheap beer, obnoxious customers, and marginal food then I would see why this place would be appealing... -
Review from David R.
Sitting here now watching the Jets vs. Patriots game. This is an old school country bar. I am surrounded by almost all guys mid 20's on up. Lots of blue collar worker types drinking beer after beer and inhaling 50 cent peanuts or delicious smelling grease burgers. This place is a country bar out of the movies with real grit and atmosphere. Come here to feel run down and in a rut, or just like a beaten down alchy.

This is a great bar & grill type place. The food is good, including charbroiled burgers and chicken sandwiches (they offer a cup of chili instead of the usual fries if you want). Extensive condiment and salad bar too. Every table has its own personal little individually operated flat screen tv with cable. I had never seen such a glorious amenity! They also have a shuffleboard table. Friendly owner.
