A great place for iced coffee.
I asked the owner to surprise me something and he did a great job. It was iced coffee with half&half and some hazlenut.
Definately a place I will be visiting again. -

We've been coming to this place over the last 3 years and they never failed to deliver, it was always great....Today, my husband and I came for their good old classic halo-halo, I must say that it was totally different from how they were serving it before. For one, the ingredients were cut in half. When we told the owner about it, who was at that time serving, the owner took offense and denied our feedback and stated that it is their measurement. He even raised his voice in front of other customers who had to leave. We were taken back by his attitude because you normally don't see this kind of reaction from owner of an establishment. It's just not good customer service.
Customer feedback should be appreciated and not shunned. -

Food = hit or miss but mostly, mediocre.
Portion = stingy, small portion per serving.
Service = what service?
Atmosphere = clean but hot and muggy since early March (A/C broken?)
Cost = cheap (you get what you pay for, I guess)
Drinks = expensive and taste is not worth it; I prefer Boba Tea House for boba's (if I'm in Loma Linda area). -

I went thinking it was a coffee shop but now its converted into a silog fast food type restaurant. They still serve coffee, but now moreso filipino breakfast food. They open 7am-7pm everyday so I came around 6:30pm. I ordered the tapsilog and a sisig combo. I was disappointed in both. The tapa was very tough, very oily, and thus I couldn't stomach most of it- although I'm not sure if it was because it was the end of the day and so wasn't that freshly made. The sisig was VERY oily and fatty. Sisig means sour (I think), and I couldn't taste any vinegar.. The white rice was also hard and dry. They also ran out of turon :( I asked them if they would have it tomorrow, they said to call because each day the menu is different (aside from the fixed silogs on the wall for $5.99) no pan de sal here either, but they do have a variety of drinks, including halo halo, and some baked goods (very small selection) like siao-pao and cheese waffle.
I did love the ginitaan dessert! Just the right amount of sweetness and mochi had great texture. I would come back for the desserts, the food I'm kind of iffy still. If I did, I would try early morning to see if there is a difference in quality of the food. The service was really good, the people are very nice. -

Delish iced coffee!!! He added caramel syrup to it and I was in heaven. No a/c on. Clean. Very clean. Comfy couches.
Not a great place for an athiest tho is there was a G-d appreciation statement on the wall. -

I'm adding this little cafe to my list of "must-stop-here!" places when I visit my folks in the hot-ass 909... and no, that wasn't a typo, I said 909.
My parents and allll my siblings gathered here (all but 1 sister) to escape the heat and we all ordered their specialty... halo-halo (mix-mix, translated). I don't remember the last time I had it so good (ehem...)! This was definitely one of the best ever. It was served up in a giant plastic cup... with just enough shaved ice, not too much of the bean stuff (which I don't like anyway), they added a big slice of leche flan, corn, macapuno (sweet coconut), lanka (jackfruit), little jello pieces and a heaping scoop of ube ice-cream on top... it was perfect! For $4.75... totally worth it!
I noticed they served other pastries like cake and tiramisu... and I'm sure eventually I'll try it... but right now, it's all about the halo-halo... I'm heading there this weekend, so I'm sure I'll get my fix again. Yum! -

Thanks to Roselle E., I was reminded that I needed to make an update. In my preview review, I mentioned that I (the BF included) always order their Tapsilog (fried tapa [beef], fried rice, 2 eggs) but one day when we got breakfast, I really didn't feel like tapa.
We both ordered their Longasilog (longanisa, fried rice, 2 eggs). I was a bit irritated when the BF ordered chicken longanisa. I was hoping for pork because everytime I've eaten chicken longanisa, I really didn't like it.
Of course the order was to-go since we both worked the night before and had to work that night again. To my surprise, the longanisa was moist (the chicken ones I usually had were dry) and very delicious! Reminded me of the smoked longanisas that my mom used to cook.
It was so good, I ate everything... Yeah and it was a lot. So now I have a new "order" whenever I get breakfast there :]. Mmm mmm good.
Oh yeah... There can be a bit of a problem with parking around lunch time there on the weekdays. There was no parking what-so-ever!. With a couple of restaurants there, I guess it's not too weird. So don't be surprised :]Listed in: For the Sweetness in Me

I've been here twice and have to say that their cold and hot coffees are much better than Starbucks. And cheaper.
On my most recent visit, I had tocilog for breakfast-- tocino, eggs, and garlic fried rice. The portion is very generous and everything tasted good, especially the garlic fried rice. With a large cup of hot coffee in hand, I was a content customer. Added bonus: TFC dramas while enjoying my breakfast. :) -

When this place first opened, they were solely a breakfast pastry, coffee and tea shop. Went back here today and to my surprise, they now offer a breakfast and lunch menu!
On their menu:
Espresso (varieties) & Ice Blended Drinks
Boba Slushes & Smoothies
Sandwiches
Grilled Paninis
Breakfast bagels, pastries, croissants and omelets)
Tosilog
Tapsilog
Longasilog
Teriyaki Bowls
Siopao
Empanada
Hopia
Halo Halo
Cakes (cheesecakes, tiramisu, etc)
Soup - mami, etc.
I ordered the chicken tosilog (you can have breakfast any time of the day!) and for dessert? Halo Halo. My meal came with a generous portion of fried rice, 2 eggs any style and my tocino. It was just the right amount for me, actually - if not more than enough. The Halo Halo was good.
*If there's one thing that makes me NOT want to eat Halo is the over abundance of the sweet red beans in it. The guy at the counter didn't put too much at all! I loved it!
Service was great - the guy was respectful and accommodating. Food was prepared fresh.
drinks $1.60-4
sandwiches - $4-6
breakfast $1.75-5.10
Free WI-FI! This wasn't crowded during lunch hrs at all. The place is very cozy, with a few tables against the windows, 3-4 individual lounge seats and 2 sofas on the other side of the room. Would def return! -

I visited Aurora's this Sunday morning looking for something tasty and maybe sweet for breakfast. Upon reading the reviews for the cafe I was thinking to pick up some coffee and maybe an empanada or pastry. My boyfriend and I first of all are HUGE fans of breakfast so we were delighted to see the Filipino breakfast dishes pictured on the menu. I ordered the longsilog, which includes soy sauce fried rice, sweet crispy sausage and 2 over easy eggs. My boyfriend ordered the tinasilog which includes fried fish (not sure what kind), soy sauce rice and 2 over easy eggs. The man who took our order made the food right on the spot so we knew it was fresh, and had the perfect home made touch. The food was super tasty and actually reminds so much of my own dad's cooking. Overall we were really satisfied with the quality of the food and the cafe had a sweet and quiet disposition.
We will definitely come back to try some pastries and empanadas next time! -

I like to promote local businesses, especially coffee shops, and I am very open minded when it comes to different cuisines, but lately, this place has changed quite a bit. I have been coming here for years, and they used to produce some pretty good coffee. I think they changed owners since I've come and it seems to have gone from a coffee house to a stinky fish joint that serves coffee on the side. When you advertise yourself as a coffee house, you expect to come in smelling that delectable smell of roasted beans. I opened the door and didn't know quite exactly what I smelled, but it wasn't coffee. I came in to get a non fat latte. They didn't have non fat milk but 2%. So, a bit disappointed but I can deal with that. I watched as my coffee was made...no steamed milk with espresso, but instead, some hot coffee with a bit of milk. OK, not the traditional way of making a latte but I just want my caffeine. But four bucks and some change for that? Not worth it. Chevron serves better coffee. Then when I went to pay, I look over to my left and see a spread of different types of fish in their entirety which kind of turns my stomach. They may be delicious to some, but I came for a coffee and I got to see fish while I wait. I am vegetarian, so perhaps I'm biased.
Positive notes, they do have an array of fresh sandwiches, bagels and pastries, all of which you expect to find at a coffee shop, which is awesome. The owner/worker at the counter was truly nice, and they have free wifi so I give my two stars to that. Perhaps I need to try the Halo Halo everyone is raving about to up my review. I may be weird but I just don't like to see a dead fish eyeballing me while I wait at 9 am for my morning brew. -

One of the only places that serve a Filipino-style breakfast in the area... and it's really good here. Mostly I come here for the halo-halo which is quite excellent. Haven't tried anything else on the menu, but the halo-halo makes it worth a visit every couple of weeks or so.

Gotta give a shout out to this local gem. Perfect lil spot for test week studying. Love their filipino food, especially the halo halo and siopao. And free wifi and comfy couches! A million times better than studying at an overcrowded starbucks!

I would agree with the 2 other reviews. They weren't exaggerating about the halo halo; it's the bomb! If you're not familiar, it's a dessert not unlike most other asian shaved ice desserts. Plus, the "American" fare isn't bad either--simple sandwiches made with fresh ingredients. They're also very accomodating so you can change your order to your own tastes. It's rarely crowded, though I haven't been here for lunch. And they offer free wi-fi.

I am not one to check out breakfast spots because I barely get up in time to make it to work. I decided to check out Aurora's after an early bird friend of mine altered me to their Filipino breakfast; I am all up for discovering new ethnic eats in this sometimes bland area. I had the Tapsilog (beef, fried rice, eggs with soy + chili sauce). I wasn't impressed but seeing as I have never eaten Filipino breakfast I have nothing to compare it to. I did however like the steamed chicken bun that I ended up consuming later at home. Whole venture ran about $7.00

Recently came here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the Filipino breakfast menu. I got the siopau and a coffee and my husband got one of their panini sandwiches. We were really surprised and pleased that our food was literally prepared to order, including slicing tomatoes for the sandwich. And it was gooood. We will be back to try more!
The place had a good atmosphere with plenty of couches and comfy chairs.
The coffee was so so. I've had better and worse elsewhere. It got the job done.
