Loved this place! We stayed for two nights, loved every detail and amenity. Can't wait to return!

Review from Monica L.
Loved our stay here! My husband surprised me with a nice getaway weekend to Napa and chose this place to stay at.
There are 5 cabins and the owners live in the front house so you are not attached to anyone else which is nice. Nothing worst then pesky loud neighbors which we didn't have to deal with at all.
When we arrived it was a bit late but the owners greeted us in their front walk way and told us about the room and also what to do in the nearby area giving us a few brochures.
We went to our room and it was so cute! A little eating nook to the side, big comfy couch chairs on one side, a huge bed and a really good size bathroom with shower. I was pleasantly surprised what a nice place it was.
The shower was huge and they provided soaps, shampoo and conditioner which I sampled. The bed was comfy...I slept so good there! I finally forced myself up at 10am because check out was 11.
At 8:30am you will hear a light knock on your door. You are provided a light breakfast full of croissants, muffins and a huge carafe of orange juice. I ate all of it...it was delicious! They also have apples and biscottis in the room for you to eat at no extra charge. If you don't answer the door at 8:30, they leave it on the front porch table with a bag over it (so the birds don't get to it). It was a perfect way to wake up in the morning!
I highly recommend this place if you are in the Calistoga area! -

First of all, I am so glad my cousin told us not to stay in Napa! I had no idea about the layout of the valley, and when I told her we were going up there, she told me we should stay in Calistoga. That was the 2nd best decision we made about this trip. The first one was choosing Aurora Park Cottages! We were greeted by Kate and Celeste as soon as we arrived and promptly shown to our lovely, homey cottage! I couldn't get over how cute it was! The bed was amazing, so soft and comfy! The cottage was adorable, I sat on the porch to read for a while, and them moved to under the big tree beyond the cottages, it was gorgeous! We visited Castello di Amoroso, that was another great choice! Thank you, Celeste & Kate! We left early this morning, I couldn't stand being away from my boys for much longer, and we wanted to beat some of the LA traffic! I sincerely hope to see you again soon!

We celebrated our first year anniversary together at Aurora Park with great anticipation.
The accommodations and experience were professional and wonderful at Aurora Park. The owners pleasantly treated us as if we were family during our stay. When we entered our cottage there was champagne and chocolate already waiting for us to devour before we even started unpacking. It was a great way to begin our anniversary celebrations.
The cottages themselves are perfectly sized and have every amenity we needed for our stay. The mini iron and stand was very convenient for those fancy evenings out on the town or wine tasting. The beds were amazingly comfortable and ensured our sleep was free of unrest, and full of velvet dreams of the next day's activities. We enjoyed the cloud soft bath robes for those lazy mornings while enjoying our very healthy and delicious breakfast, which was delivered to our door every morning.
Aurora Park is conveniently located to every popular attraction in the area, which streamlined our schedule and allowed us to explore all the different areas in the short amount of time we had in Calistoga.
The owners (Celeste and Joe) were very friendly, accommodating and always had suggestions for different restaurants in the area to try out. If you are going on the Calistoga Hot Air Balloon trip the staff will arrive at your door to pick you up... if you mention you are staying at Aurora Park.
We will always remember our perfect 1st year Anniversary at Aurora Park. It is everything you want in a bed and breakfast. -
Review from Angie M.
Husband and I had a not-so-good experience the last time we stayed in Calistoga, so we were trying to be optimistic when we decided to stay at Aurora Park. We were VERY HAPPY with our choice!
You stay in individual cottages so no shared walls ... lots of privacy. It's close to downtown but tucked away so only your fellow guests are in the immediate area. Every morning breakfast was set by our door: delicious pastries and fresh OJ. There was also fresh ground coffee in the room along with a welcome split of sparkling wine when we checked in.
Why not 5 stars? The bathrooms were kind of small and there was just a shower (no tub) in our cottage; not sure if this is the same for all of the cottages. But I still found the service and quality of Aurora Park excellent! A great place to stay to get a true B&B feeling in Napa Valley.Listed in: Everything wine

This is a great find for a bed and breakfast.
Mr & I had a wonderful time. The Inn keepers, Joe & Celeste were great. They made out stay special and memorable.
The cottage location is great, in the middle on all the winery in Napa and Calistoga area.
The place was clean and the bed sheets smells like it was freshly laundered. The breakfast is delivered outside your cottage. Fresh OJ, croissants, fruits. Coffee and teas are also available.
They have mini fridge, I wish they would add a small microwave in the future. OOps I almost forgot, the bed is so wonderful.
I recommend this place and would go back again. -

You will remember your stay here, and you will want to come again. That is the magic that this place has. It is like having a warm blanket.. All cozy and inviting. Everything you could want is taken care of by the most delightful innkeepers.. They care about making your stay relaxing and memorable.

Quiet, charming individual cottages built in 1948 but recently renovated to 21st century standards. Each cottage has a deck on which to enjoy the continental breakfast that is delivered to your room each morning.
A fairly short walk (6 blocks or so) to downtown Calistoga. The owners are very knowledgeable about the area and have a nice sample of coupons for free wine tastings as well as personal recommendations on which of the 300 or so wineries to visit. -

AMBIANCE: The cottage was so clean! Very modern/homey feel to it. The bathrooms only have a shower stall, but plenty of room and your significant other to share if you want. You can settle down on the comfortable sofas late night going through late night television drinking wine and then fall into a a wonderful sleeping slumber on a beautiful, clean comfortable bed with mounds of soft pillows and great comforters. I love the fact there is a mini fridge in the room with a great lil eating nook you so you can enjoy your meals indoors or outdoor.
There is wine glasses in your rooms along with plates and forks, coffee and of course wine openers=)
NOISE LEVEL: What noise? The only noise you'd probably get is the noise of different level of your air conditioner. The cottage has no shared walls with any other cottages which is great. One of the other reviews I read on here said that aurora park cottages is too "suburban". I feel that the "suburban" is just perfect. On a nice sunny day you can just walk to downtown Calistoga or just jump in your car for seriously folks, a 3 minute drive to get into town. This place is the perfect refuge for being close to town but not directly into the section that has tons of tourists meandering around in packs.
SERVICE: Joe the Innkeeper is as personable as they come, and is great in helping us find nearby specialty stores or a suggestion for a wonderful place to eat. I came here with my very good friend Peggy to celebrate her upcoming wedding, I mentioned this to Joe and he was so sweet in having a sign printed and made for her on the table when we got here with drinks, apples and chocolates for us. I find over the years if going to bed and breakfasts, or resorts or anywhere and there's a special occasion or request, tell the owners/managers ahead of time. A little bit goes a long way, because after all these guys are not mind readers=)
FOOD: The Aurora Park Cottages, provides you every morning at 8:30 on the dot with a light fair breakfast that is perfect to start your day. We awoke to fresh pastries, season sliced fruits (ranged from water, melon, blueberries, kiwi, apricots....), and orange juice every morning to start out our day. What I love that we were fortunate to get every morning is these amazing whole wheat croissants. Unlike the typical croissants which is a little more flakier due to tons of butter, the wheat croissants is a lil bit heartier but oh so much healthier for you. So yummy. I am going to look around for a recipe if I can find it.
** I am definitely coming back here next time with my boyfriend. I am a very picky person when it comes to cleanliness and good service and with Aurora Park Cottages, I was able to find all that and then some. Seriously, why spend $ on a place that is so dated or tries too hard to be modern when you can come here and get a combination of both? I can't wait to see how winter would be.**
**Will post up a quick picture once Peggy uploads it.** -

The owners, grounds and location were all very nice.
Bonus points for a nice clean room, champagne and chocolates (it was our anniversary), directv and delicious pastries in the AM. A few things I didn't love: no bath, no wi-fi available (even though it was included on the room description). The bed was very comfy.
Overall, I enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others. I'm just nit-picking I guess. -

My experience happened in June of 2005. You really should read this...
I took my partner there for her 30th birthday. She was allergic to the down comforter so we simply took it off the bed. Everything seemed to be just peachy, from the "friendly" innkeepers to the cute little dogs.
One month later I get a bill for a brand new comforter and cover. There was never a phone call or anything, I get a letter explaining how my credit card was already charged. I called in a rage (obviously) and they told me how I "peed on their comforter." Well, I'm no troglodyte and I didn't pee on their damn stuff--there WAS a bathroom!
I wanted some answers--such as, why a month later? When did you find this stain? Why didn't you call me? AND WHERE WERE THOSE TWO LITTLE DOGS BEFORE WASHING THE COMFORTER? See, I'm a bit of a female McGyver and you just don't mess with me.
Well, the last question threw them for a loop, first, the comforter had been sitting on their laundry floor for 2 days after my departure and, she said they couldn't have peed on it "because the dogs don't usually do that, but I, I, I suppose they could have." Well, case solved, they're fucking dogs (don't get me wrong, I love the little buggers) and they pee on things! Especially when they can smell other dogs!
The innkeepers were EXTREMELY rude and completely insistent on ME peeing on their comforter. (Gee, thanks, cuz really, I do that all the time)
In the end, I threatened to sue, got my money back and will CONTINUALLY talk smack about them for years to come.
Good luck!Comment from Joe H. of Aurora Park Cottages 5/17/2009

Didn't plan for this trip to Calistoga but it could not have gone more perfectly!...thanks to Joe & Celeste.
Decided to take my husband 'away' for his birthday. We arrived to Aurora Park Cottages with birthday greetings and treats. The cottages are beautifully appointed and very private. We loved our quiet retreat which included a few hours in a nearby mineral pool, yummy local cuisine, a lovely breakfast in the morning at our door and an "in cottage" massage. (http://www.specialocca...)
Listen to Joe's recommendations...he knows what he's talkin' bout!
Very clean, nice bathroom with lovely shower, comfy bed, super warm robes, little fridge with complimentary water, beautiful green apples on the table, yummy coffee & biscotti, delicious breakfast left on our porch - fresh fruit, oj, pastries, and the ability to dock my ipod into the little sound system/radio alarm was great too!
We love the whole experience and left very relaxed...Thank you Joe & Celeste! We will return. -

Just want to let everyone know the owner contacted us and has offered to credit us for the lack of effort by the former Inn Keepers. We will be checking them out again at a later date.

You may arrive a stranger but you depart a fan... and a friend when you stay at Aurora Park Cottages and have the pleasure of meeting Celeste Ford and Joe Hensley.
The cottages are perfect in size and beautifully appointed. The bed and chairs are comfortable and inviting, with a soft plush blanket on the chair, delicious coffee in the room and ample magazines to read while you relax. Added touches like sumptuous moss green robes in the closet, fresh crisp green apples on a platter, biscotti with your coffee cup and chilled bottled water in the room add to the sense of something 'special' when you stay at Aurora Park Cottages.
Celeste's and Joe's attention to detail is noticeable and appreciated. Their warm and welcoming attitude make a great experience an extraordinary visit to Napa Valley. -

This is a wonderful little B&B. The innkeepers are very friendly, warm and welcoming. We were there to do some wine tasting like many and they gave us several recommendations along with freebie passes to wineries, several that turned out to be good finds. Breakfast brought to your room in the morning ... hard to beat that. Bed was very comfy and the rooms were clean and private. We had everything we needed. Check it out, you won't be dissapointed. Tell Joe we said "Hi".
