Seems like more of these places are popping up all over. Great deal if you're used to paying ridiculous Westside massage rates, but still a long way above the $15/hr rates out in San Gabriel, etc. but if you live out here, and don't want to make the drive out there, this does give you a little sweet revenge against all those $100/hr-but-it's-really-only-50-minutes places.
Quality can vary a lot in these places, so when you get a good massage, remember the person's name and ask for them next time. Overall, a reasonably good massage in a pleasant environment for cheap--nice way to spend a relaxing hour. -

To be fair, the first time I had a great experience and thought the foot massage was amazing.
The next time I went, I had a masseuse that was sick- he kept clearing his throat and coughing- he even covered his mouth then touched my feet without washing his hands. He also kept talking to his co-worker during the whole massage which was really a buzz kill.
When I complained to the person at the register, he said, "well a lot of these guys smoke so that's maybe why he was coughing". Are you kidding me?
I was totally grossed me out and I woudl never go back there or recommend this place again. -

I came with my son on a Sunday early evening, I made an apt for 6 and they werent able to start until 6 20. My masseur was Jason Lee he was great at reflexology but overall it was very hectic. The woman who ran the front desk came over to speak with him at least 10 times, and then ranted how busy they were because of Mothers Day. Had I known I would have not come. It was impossible to relax because of the talking among the employees. When I told the lady at the front desk she was very unapologetic, and apathetic. I will return to my quieter spot in the valley next time.

The masseuse was very, very sick and coughed and sneezed all over me the entire time. He sniffled, hacked, and sneezed all over, resulted in me getting covered in phlem at least 5 times. Finally, about 1/2 way through I told him that he shouldn't be working if he was clearly very sick. It was so gross. Sure enough, I am very sick now, coughing and sneezing and feverish. This has cost me work time, money, and my health. After many happy visits here, I would never return. I hate to think of how many other people he got very sick.

On the evening of 3/28/12 the manager was unprofessional and rude. She has lost my business.

I went on a Saturday morning a few weeks ago. I took my 6 year old. We were both in pure heaven. My son fell asleep during his reflexology. I looked over and he was out cold. I had a very relaxing time. I had some serious pain on both feet in the same spot. I read the chart and figured out what it meant.
When it was over, my little guy opened his eyes and said "more massage mama!"
We can't wait to go back. It is clean, the staff is nice. It is quiet and relaxing. Perfection! I am going to give this as gifts to people.
Plenty of parking.
Be sure to try it out. You will be hooked like we are! -

The prices are great and the foot massages are fantastic. They do a little general upper body massage too with the packages they have. Its great for after a night out partying.

I should have read the yelp reviews for this one. I had the female masseuse and it was awful. I asked her in the beginning not to massage or touch the back of my neck (due to an injury). I had to ask her 4 more times because she kept going for it! The whole massage felt like she was going through a routine that someone showed her. and there was NO pressure.
Now, i understand that its annoying when you go to these places and all the staff are snickering with each other while they're working, but its more annoying when every time they talk- they stop massaging! It was the opposite of relaxing. I wanted to leave in the middle of it but I don't know the etiquette of how to handle that situation.
i see good reviews so I'm going to assume it's only like that with the females. So, to be safe, i suggest asking for one of the men to massage you.
Also, if you're expecting authentic "Reflexalogy" you will be let down. Its just a crappy foot rub -

went here after work on a tuesday night -- usually get my massages in san gabriel, closer to home, but decided to try this place out. reasonable price (more than san gabriel, but good for beverly hills), great massage, so great that i fell asleep for 20 minutes. they play very peaceful music and it's clean.
would definitely go here again! -

Decided to get a massage last minute and this place is really close to my house. I loved it. Got a 90 min combo massage and it was delightful. I need deep pressure and the gentleman (Sanz) was very good.... so good that I left a $20 tip for a $50 massage!

My daughter (17 years old) & I love a good massage with that said this place is perfect. Great massage with just the right amount of pressure. You will feel like a new person in an hour and for only $30.00. Lee & William are AMAZING!
The only down side was the chatty female employees - talking loudly to each other in the front of the spa. -

5 buck more than their Sunset location but it is in BevHills but worth it!
--Easy parking lot.
--More spacious and clean.
--They do a mini scalp massage.
And overall just a more upscale experience. However, I still love both sports. They will also stamp your buy 10 get one free at either location.
Great pre meal date event as we did for the VDay last night!Listed in: Rub n Tug

This place has consistently come through! I've only had males but everyone has been very good. The place is clean, quiet, and I can usually get in at anytime. $30 for an hour and they really work on the knots and you leave feeling better than when you walked in - both physically and mentally! yay!

Review from Kori S.
Hurts so good. Been here a couple times and loved it.
If you love a firm massage, this is your spot. Arms, shoulders, neck, upper back, legs and head - they get everything but your lower back. They start off soaking your feet and working on your shoulders, neck and upper back (position 1) and then move to your arms (position 2) and then finally your head and then legs (position 3). I've never fully remembered the entire leg massage as inevitably I always fall asleep but hey, that's a good thing right?
I've never had it done on me but allegedly, some people get their hip muscles massaged and they do get get, um, a little close. My friend's masseuse did this and while it was all totally legit, be advised that it is a little surprising.
Guys, where short; girls wear leggings. I made the mistake once of wearing jeggings that could barely make it past my mid calf... I couldn't feel my legs by the end of it but I was still in heaven.
$30 for an hour massage is such a super deal. I always leave here feeling I got my money's worth. Oh and they have a rewards program which is nice. Parking kind of sucks - there's as lot but they have like 2 spots designated for Aurora so on a weekend, I generally have to park around the corner. It's just residential so it's perfectly safe and close enough - definitely won't stop me from coming back. -

I came to Aurora on a whim this past Sunday. The ambiance is better then what i was expecting and very relaxing. They start the process by ushering you into the main room where there are rows of large lounge chairs that recline. They then bring our a wooden bucket with hot water for you to soak you feet in. I am not sure if it was just our visit to aurora but the water was soo freakin hott! I mentioned this to my masseur and he brought cold water which helped. The massage was 60 minutes for $30. My masseur focused a lot on the knots in my shoulders and back and it felt amazing! The only thing i wish was that it was longer ( although i could have paid more for a longer)
Total my massage was $36 with tip. -

Went here for my birthday as a gift from my husband. I have never gotten a professional massage, so I didn't really know what to expect.
A-m-a-z-i-n-g, but really not for the weak of back. I was jabbed and prodded and rubbed...with force! The plus is, for a massage-virgin such as myself, it was an easy introduction - fully clothed, other people around. The music in the place was nice, but I took out my iPodanyway for the foot and leg portion of the massage because there were a few employees talking.
The foot massage scared me because they call it "Chinese reflexology" and what little I know about that is, it is supposed to be...painful. Well, it wasn't. In fact, I would have liked a little more strength. The few parts that made me say "ouch" were on the calf. He did stretch my legs from side to side too which surprised me considering the space limitations. I felt a good extension and he did some pressure on my hips.
The neck, head and arm massage were fantastic! Could have used more on the hands, but I should have probably requested that. Which brings up the fact that nobody in here speaks more than the very necessary words of English. When my massage was done, I was heard, "Okay, Lady." I think it is easy enough to communicate the basics, though, so don't be dissuaded. The plus side of the language barrier is no jabbering masseur to annoying you during what is supposed to be relaxing. I've heard that's a bad experience.
$60 out the door for 90 minutes? Yeah, I'll go back. -

These Asian armchair massage places are all over the city (which is an of itself a splendid thing).
Like its brethren, this place is nothing to look at but it's clean, the service is efficient and friendly and the staff there really knows their pressure points. They deliver on their promises and your dollar goes a long way. I've been there a couple of times and will definitely go back. (Plus, I even brought a 10 year-old pal there who was exhausted from soccer practice and they couldn't have been nicer to him.) -

I'm a fan of Sunset Foot Spa, and thanks to yelp, I came across the happy discovery of its sister location much more convenient to me.
Gave it a shot last weekend...in comparison to the original, it's more of a comfy environment, less sterile. I also noticed the presence of women workers, which was a nice change of pace.
Felt a bit nervous when the lady began the back massage part and started off VERY soft/gingerly...but eventually she built up the pressure to the point where I was definitely impressed by her effort.
The foot massage part was...nice. Don't expect true reflexology, it actually felt more like she was gently but thoroughly rubbing lotion into my feet...still felt good and put me to sleep, but does it count as a "massage"?
Regardless, can't beat the price of $30 for a full hour of treatment. 3 stars for quality, 4 stars for value. -

Just got back from Japan and my feet and ankles were on swole!
I've NEVER had a Chinese Foot Massage and have been nervous about trying one of these places because I hear that they are such holes in the wall....
Well this place is cool. Fairly clean and located in LA (technically Beverly Hills but I won't hold that against them). Quick and professional service - you can pay with a credit card. They cost a little more than the places in the burbs, but who wants to drive out to San Gabriel Valley??
Anyway, so the foot massage is $30 and you get a solid hour. Not 50 minutes, not 55 minutes, but more like an hour and 5 minutes. They are very thorough here - you get your money's worth! And the massage was awesome. I fell fast asleep and even started snoring. Best of all, Ivy managed to reduce the swelling in my feet and ankles.
I must make this a weekly treat!!Listed in: Grooming Places for Ladies

Listen Up, I went here and paid $30 for an hour massage, 30 minutes on the back and shoulders and 30 minutes on the feet.
They do all the fancy reflexology and it is simply divine. I came on a Sunday night and it was packed, I recommend making reservations. It's clean and the staff know what they're doing. Apparently this place is a little bit pricier but I think the location lets them get away with it.
I love, love, loved my experience here. Seriously wish I could do it 24/7. -

I was very excited to try Aurora Foot Spa because I had such a great experience at a reflexology place in San Diego. That place was quiet, dark and peaceful - I actually fell asleep during my session.
Not anywhere near my experience here.
My number one complaint about this place is the noise factor. The staff is talking and giggling with each other the entire time. When I'm getting a mani/pedi that's one thing, but the idea here is to relax.
At one point two of the masseurs got into an argument and started yelling at each other right next to me!! It took another staff member to get them to silence themselves.
The massage itself was okay, a bit on the strong side for my liking.
Not coming back here. -

Clean, not too busy, massages are generally very good, ask for a man, I don't love the female masseuse they have, call ahead if you can.

Aurora Foot Spa's first location, Sunset Foot Spa in Hollywood, has been on my bookedmarked list for the longest time. But because it's so far in Hollywood, I hadn't had a chance to check it out. Thus, I was so excited when I found out about the new Aurora location in Beverly Hills!
When I got to Aurora, I was surprised at the location - it's located in a small very un-Beverly Hills-like strip mall. It was nearly 10 p.m. when I got there, so the plaza was pretty empty and luckily I was able to find parking easily.
Aurora is just like the many Chinese foot massage places in San Gabriel and Garden Grove - just slightly pricier - which is understandable given the difference of location. Since I live in West LA, this location is convenient for me. I would gladly pay a little more not to have to drive out to the SG area or the OC. With Aurora's current promotion, for $25, you get a 60 minute massage (normally I think it's $30).
The sign says that it's a 20 minute neck, shoulder and back massage and 40 minutes of foot reflexology, but I'm not sure if I really got that since I fell asleep - that's how relaxing it was. My only small complaint is that my masseuse massaged my face and ears, which I did not really appreciate since his hands smelled like cigarettes (gross!). Next time, I'll be sure to tell them not to touch my face.
For those who have never been to a Chinese foot massage "spa," don't expect a fancy Burke-Williams-like establishment. It's quite far from that. These places are pretty basic - large seats that recline lined up in a big, somewhat dark room with soft music (maybe) and lots of Chinese chatter by the employees. You will sit down with your clothes on. They will bring out a large bucket with warm water for you to soak your feet in. While your feet are soaking, they will start with a neck, shoulder and back massage. After that, you will be asked to lay back on the reclined seat and they will give you a foot massage.
Aurora pretty much fits the above description with a few exceptions - the room was a little too bright and there wasn't as much chatter by the employees (good thing!). The "soothing" music playing in the background was mehh.
But for $25 for a 60 minute massage that I can get to in less than 15 minutes, I can't really complain. :)Comment from Eric Y. of Aurora Foot Spa - Chinese Foot Massage 2/9/2010

My friend and I were 30 min late to our appt but our massages were ready in 10 min. The place has quite a lot of customers! The place looks very similar to the massage parlors in China that I goto a lot during the summer. However, the skill is lacking. The massage on my back was really good, but my foot massage wasn't so good. I nearly fell asleep but then I felt no pressure on my feet, i thought my masseuse fell asleep too -__- He was just touching my feet lightly.. and I just stared at him. Anyways, I asked him if he was sleeping and the masseuse next to me said that if he was sleeping, how could he massage my feet. My point exactly, he wasn't massaging my feet. Anyways he made it up to me and gave me an extra 5 minutes i think? I felt the spot where they were massaging was not right, they didn't put enough massage lotion.
I paid $50 for 90 minute massage (30 min head, back and shoulders, 60 minute foot massage) But seriously, the foot massage was not that great. He didn't even get to my calve muscle. Most of the time, he was just scratching my toes............................im SO serious, no joke. -

Aurora definitely lives up to its Yelp hype. For $30 plus tip, I essentially got an hour long, deep tissue, full body massage that was more thorough than some $100+ massages I've received at fancier places.
The massesues here have really strong pressure though, so don't tell them to give it all they've got because, otherwise, you will be in pain! (especially when they do your feet.)
Also, it's fairly easy to get a same day appointment, but be sure to call ahead first. And, ladies, be sure to wear pants or shorts! -

AWESOME. I just got home from a wonderful massage from here...
I already loved the other location (Sunset) and decided to try Aurora tonight as it's much closer to where I live.
This location is newer, cleaner, and has the same high-quality massages as the other place. :) Parking is easy too.
LOVE! Wish I could afford this everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

I have been coming here for over a year now and I love this place, they always seem to know where I need a good body massage and hit those hard to relieve knot spots. I highly recommend Aurora Foot Spa. I feel like brand new!

This review is for the SUNSET and WESTERN location (5419 Sunset I believe.) My friends and I were sent here when the Wilshire location was booked up and couldn't take 4 people at once. We'd been partying all day long and thought a great way to wind down would be with some massage--so at 9:00 pm we called the spa.
This location is open until 11 PM on a Sunday night! 5 stars for that alone. Founds street parking right in front.
REALLY AFFORDABLE!! For the cost of two drinks at Skybar, you get an HOUR of reflexology massage. The employees are very attentive and include lots of little thoughtful extras--like an extra blanket for me (I was still in beach clothes) and a hair clip to get my hair of my shoulders for the upper body massage.
It's a bargain that shouldn't be missed. AND they take credit cards.
Only caveat--if you are expecting to get a private room, or a nude, full body massage this is not the place. You are in one room with lots of massage lounges, and you remain clothed, but it's totally comfortable and tranquil. -

I went in not knowing what to expect. 15 minutes later I was drifting on a cloud of yum. I literally felt like I had a "lost time" episode like people who claim to have been abducted by ufos.. I didn't want to get out of the chair when my 60 mins were up. And for 30 bucks...no brainier.

Absolutely highly recommend this, every penny well spent and their pricing is VERY fair!
It was fairly quiet, no employee chatters, although you DO hear the faucet whenever they need to fill up the soaking tub.

Looooooved it!!
Finally a massage that doesn't feel like someone is tickling me.
Loved that they actual use pressure
Only $30 for an hour massge- 20 mins back/shoulders/head and 40 mins for feet. What a deal! They even have frequent buyer cards, I think its buy 10, get 1 free. The staff there is friendly & quiet (which I love).
Amaaazing massage!! wish I could go back more often, but I recently moved out of the area! =(
