Review from Jay G.
Alpharetta, GA
We love this place on Two for Tuesday! For less than $20.00 we both get movie tickets, two large popcorns, and two large drinks. You cannot beat this price! As for the theater, I haven't had any major issues. It's clean and the staff has been very friendly.
Tonight we sat in one of the smaller theaters (fifth on the left) where the screen wasn't a typical ceiling to floor model, instead, it was elevated further up and stretched down to about the middle of the wall. I thought this might be an issue but the chairs reclined making it very comfortable for us. We generally go to 7:20 or 7:30 shows. Each time we've gone, including to see The Hunger Games four days after the release date, the theater was surprisingly empty. Again, for the price, I can't believe there isn't more of a crowd. Tonight, the ticket taker even passed out mints as we left the theater. I thought that was a nice little extra touch. One thing I would caution is sometimes certain movies are removed from the Two for Tuesday deal so you might want to check before you go.
They do have a cool looking mini-golf area right outside the theater that looks awesome! We have yet to try it out, but it's on our list! -

Everything about Aurora is just fantastic - the prices, the look, the staff, everything is just wonderfully run. It's a great small business, it has better prices and service than the local AMCs, you are doing yourself a disservice by not going here

Wow, what an upgrade! Incredibly cheap tickets for first run movies, lots of snack options, friendly staff, and a remarkable decrease in the number of creepers roaming the parking lot! This would be my new #1 movie theatre in Roswell. Beats out the other options closer to North Point Mall by a long shot.
Listed in: The best 'well there is!

Let's first of all get the facts straight- I don't come here for the movies, I come here for the mini golf.
Formerly known as Star Time (and many other things). This place used to be a multiplex of arcades, movies, bars, comedy clubs, batting cages, and many other outdoor activites.
After the renovation, it looks like they stick to movies, go carts, and golf.
The golf is great- they did great theming for halloween (even had halloween themed balls!) and even a practice area.
For less than $20 (after tax!), you can golf both courses for 2 people.
The putters are odd shaped though (maybe you can bring your own?).
I like that it is well kept and close to home... I just wish I didn't get 10 over par every time.... -

I love this theater. They have fabulous pricing, and they care about being a local business. There is rarely a wait to buy a ticket, and the concessions are always reasonably priced. The matinees are a steal compared to the Alpharetta theaters!
I will go out of my way to see movies here. -

This place is a hidden treasure for movie junkies! My new favorite theater!
Only $11.5 for 3D Thor at 7PM! ( AMC price is $15! and Thor regular is $11!)
At first we thought it's gonna suck. ( hints the price) But it was a much better experience than we had in AMC.
The movie looked great. It was prolly the best looking 3D movie we've ever watched.
We liked how u can get unlimited drinks from the self service area.
They have a lot of seasonings for the popcorn too.
There is a golf area outside. We might come back for golf some other time. :)
Overall, the money well worth the trip. -

LOVE THIS PLACE! Very clean, comfortable seating... with cheaper movie tickets than most. I even had my daughter's birthday party here, and they did a fantastic job! Could not recommend more! I'm taking the kids to play their mini-golf course tomorrow.

Fantastic overhaul! Star Time was a nightmare if any of you remember? Lumpy seats messed up movie screens the list goes on... But now, WOW, they really turned this place around! The new seating is great! Reclining seats I feel like I'm on a plane!! The prices are decent and the popcorn "toppings" is a wonderful touch! They do have the 3d movies, some theaters don't have that technology that's why I mention it.
I am really impressed with Aurora and hope they keep it up! It seems too easy to let movie theaters that are not AMC or Regal from turning into dive dollar theaters! Let's keep Aurora one of the good ones! =) -

A new favorite -- this place does movies right! Take a hike, AMC & Regal!
I'm so tired of feeling ripped off by the mega-theatres. At Aurora, you get the feeling they actually CARE about your business, rather than constantly trying to find new ways to gouge you. Tickets cost $2 less, and concession prices are much more reasonable (though still on the high side). All sodas are self-serve, which means free refills for all sizes.
Popcorn butter and salt are also self-serve. The salt in particular is a major pet peeve of mine. I try to avoid the butter due to the calories, but I love that butter-flavored popcorn salt. At Regal and AMC, I usually ask for a little bit in a paper cup to sprinkle as the bag gets lower. Some Regal theaters actually REFUSE to do this now that they SELL small flavored popcorn salt shakers for like $3! How ridiculous is that? I already paid like $5 for the popcorn for crying out loud! Is a little salt too much to ask? [/end rant] Anyway, it's a total non-issue at Aurora, since they have several different kinds of self-serve popcorn salt to choose from, and they'll give you an empty paper cup if you ask for one.
They have an interesting point-of-sale approach where you buy tickets and concessions at the same counter. This means waiting in 1 line instead of 2. Plus they use a bank-style queue, which is the most efficient manner of waiting in line.
Unlike the big boys, their combo prices are clearly listed on the menu, so you don't have to wonder how to get the most for your money. This really irritates me about Regal & AMC. And, these big guys will wipe out their entire menu occasionally to show a commercial! This infuriates me to no end when I'm concentrating on the menu and it disappears for 30 seconds. No so with Aurora, and they don't push those ridiculous pizzas as soon as you walk up to the register either.
The facilities are all very clean and attractive-looking. The theater is large with stadium seating, and the reclining chairs were very comfortable. Not quite as nice as the newer Regal theaters, but still pretty good.
As long as this place is around, we'll be regular patrons at the expense of Regal & AMC. Highly recommended!!! -
Review from Annie L.
We got to order the tickets before we went to the actual theatre. Getting our tickets was a breeze---we simply went to the machine and swiped the credit card we used.
Bathrooms were very clean---I'm an absolute fan! This is a big must.
Ordered a drink and I was thrilled they had an icee machine AND we got to fill our own beverages. 5 stars for do-it-yourself service. I hate waiting for a drink in the middle of the movie. At least with this method I can't blame anyone but myself for that sudden urge of some soda goodness...run out, fill up, run back to the movie. Genius!
For a Friday night, it wasn't too packed which was refreshing. Especially since it was the premiere night for Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Pt.1....not busy = I likeyy likey likey! -

We went to this theater the other night and I was VERY pleasantly surprised! This theater seems brand new, and everything is super clean. The specific theater we were in was super clean and very up to date. The chairs were comfortable, and the screen was HUGE. The sound was very good, and there just really isn't anything bad to say.
The tickets are cheaper than other theaters around ($9), and it's a total steal! The food/concession looked good, but we opted not to eat anything since we had just had dinner.
They also have a mini golf place out front that looks awesome!! I am definitely going back to check that place out!
This will be my go-to theater from now on! -
Review from Amy V.
This is my favorite theater in this area. The seating is spacious and the space is clean. It took me a minute to figure out how to purchase tickets, but after that it was all good. What else do you need in a theater?

Powder Springs, GA
These reviews missed the mark! Yes, it's true that the renovation to the lobby and exterior is great. The service is friendly and personable. I would attribute this to the manager making it a pleasant place to work. BUT, the MOST IMPORTANT part of a movie theater is the theater! These other reviews don't touch on it. I obviously didn't go to each screen, but the one we went to was very small as was the theater itself. The sound was poor, and we could hear the clackety old projector pumping away. A friend told them twice that the picture was blurry, and they tried to fix it, but "you can't fix ugly" Also, it was unbearably hot in there! Usually, they try to freeze you out. I would love to hear from others if some of the other screens are more up to date.

It's cute and clean. I miss studio seating. It reminds me of the 80's but that's not a bad thing. I haven't tried the mini golf yet, but we will :)

I love this place! Staff is friendly. I like the concept of unlimited popcorn and they have the flavored popcorn seasonings. I usually don't by popcorn at a movie theater but I make an exception at Aurora Cineplex.
I like the self serve machine for purchasing movie tickets! -

Nice, homey theater with reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Screens and sound are okay, but not outstanding in my book. You get tickets and munchies at the same counter, which saves time, plus you can get refills (comes in handy with voraciously hungry kids and a hunky husband!!).

I went for the first time last night. This place is AWESOME. Clean as I have ever see. The seats are great (Felt new) concessions are good and the staff were terrific. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed. Although I didn't play, the mini golf looked equally as impressive. When it gets warmer I plan to take the family.(and I don't even care for mini golf) Cheaper than AMC and Regal and just as nice.

Review from Mitchy B.
Only thing I hate about Roswell is the lack of a great movie theater. This one is a little better than the old ass Regal and AMC next to Northpoint Mall but not by a lot! The ticket is slightly cheaper at $9 and its somehow more convenient since the ticket counter is together with the concession stand. The theaters are clean enough, staff friendly enough, so yeah I guess this will have to do!

Roswell, GA
This place is AWESOME!!!!!!!! I was so impressed with this theater because it excels in every way. It is beautiful, clean and well run. They have plenty of people working so buying your tickets and snacks is fast and pleasant. They have a self-service drinks counter where you can make your drink exactly as you like it and even offer the flavored popcorn shakers for free. The best thing about this place is the staff. Everyone is helpful and friendly. As I was walking back from getting the kids refills on their medium popcorns and drinks, a staff member was walking down the hall in the other direction. He took one look at me with my arms full and ran over to open the door for me and asked if he could help me carry them the rest of the way. At the end of the movie, another staff member asked to put away the boosters for the little kids. Everyone smiles and goes out of their way to make the movie experience happy for everyone. I have never even thought to review a movie theater before because they are all so aggressively mediocre. This one sets a whole new standard!
The only thing negative is that is a little hard to find. My GPS directed me to the correct shopping center, but you have to go around to the back off the main road to find the entrance. Make the effort to find it because it makes movies more fun when you are in a clean, friendly place with good snacks at a great price. -

Convenient location and ok theater. Must be noted that it is difficult to find because it is on the BACK side of the shopping development. Not as impressive as the interior of AMC Fork & Screen in Buckhead or the Studio Movie Grill. But, for the nice, simple family theater - it's a good place to go.

Updated the old StarTime theatre. Great seating and pricing. You walk in and purchase tickets right at concession stand. Refills on popcorn and soda, but who really gets a refill? Lol my new favorite local movie house for Roswell/ Alpharetta area. We saw the midnight premiere of "The Green Lantern" and reserved tickets online... :)

It's a rare gem of a theater! Friendly staff, variety of snacks (amazing brownies - highly recommend). Clean and welcoming! They wait after the latest show to give you mints and thank you for coming! As opposed to a deserted theater smelling of burnt popcorn with overflowing trash cans in other big name places... I make it a point to see my movies there to support them and so should everyone living in Roswell! Did I mention a ticket costs $9 and they honor student id's every day!

We took our family to the Fringe putt putt today and were very entertained. They have done a marvelous job renovating the place and everything is clean and crisp. The landscaping looked great and the fountains really made the place.
The golf is 2 18 hole courses that are basic but challenging none the less. It is not too trendy with moving obstacles but it uses a lot of slopes to make it fun.
I would definitely recommend this place for family entertainment. It is nice to have putt putt back in the neighborhood. -

The owners of Aurora have done a great job rehabbing this space and making its potential a reality. They have gutted a lot of the interior, repainted, and put in new, incredibly comfortable seats. A huge step above what it used to be. And the prices! $9 for adults, and on Tuesday the price is $7 for adults all day. Free refills on any sized drink and any sized popcorn. THIS IS AN AMAZING DEAL. Drinks are self serve, which eliminates waiting in line if you need a refill during the movie. The service here has always been great. I really, really want to see this independent theater thrive. Next time you want to see a film, check out Aurora, and then play a round of mini-golf at the Fringe directly next door. You won't be disappointed!

I have not seen a big crowd here since it was remodeled. The place is nice for both movies and mini golf. The entire place was just remodeled a few months ago and is in great condition. The people that work there are very friendly and always ask how was your movie on the way out. Price is very competative too espicelly if you go to a show before Noon!

Review from Cory F.
I saw a movie at a theater in this plaza about 6-7 years ago and that theater was a horror movie in itself. It smelled like a bar and I think they cleaned up the place maybe once a week. After that experience, I wouldn't have given this place another chance had it not been for the reviews of the Yelper's here.
The new Aurora Cineplex movie theater cannot be beaten when you consider the movie was only $7.50! It did play at 4:30 and I am not sure if that is within their cinema time, but I just know that at the same time, it is $2.50 cheaper than the Regal or AMC nearby. My Slurpee (or Icee or Slushee or Smashee....whatever they call it) was $2 less than the Regal and AMC theaters.
As Laura D. mentions, the staff is extremely friendly and restrooms are kept up very well.
Just outside are the mini golf course that have been mentioned that are great on nice days if you get there early or to waste some time after a movie before going to dinner!
There is absolutely no reason at this time that this will not be my regular location for movies anymore. -

Roswell, GA
Played at the Fringe first... your typical putt putt course.. but extremely clean. Everything is run through the theater concessions.
Staff:
The staff were extremely friendly and the best part of this place truly. They were overly accommodating to our requests which I will not go into here..
Facility:
Extremely clean.. restrooms.. clean. I even made the comment that a germaphobe must have designed the place.
Theater:
In commenting on the other review.. they have two digital projectors or whatever you call them on order so i know that is coming. For most of the theaters it was stadium seating with seats that recline a bit and arm rests that move up and out of your way if you wish. Again everything clean which you should expect from a new place.
Concessions:
They have it all and then some.
Overall.. I would not hesitate in viewing all my movies here. Their website even makes it easy for getting movie times. -

My new favorite theater. Extremely clean, very comfortable seats, great staff. As we left the movie they were handing out Peppermint Life Savers, nice touch. My first choice if the movie I want to see is playing there.
NOTE: The sign is on Holcomb Bridge and the theater is actually at the back of the strip mall which you enter on Commerce Drive. -

I really like the results of the renovation here. If you're not familiar, this is the new theater in the old Startime space in Roswell Mall. They have a neat, easy setup where you go up to the refreshment counter to buy your snacks and your tickets all at once. They offer baked goods in addition to all of the regular stuff that you'd expect- popcorn, nachos, candy, etc. You fill your own drinks at a machine that has plenty of options, and that means that you can run out and quickly refill your drink if you need to, rather than waiting in a long line. Which leads me to the next great thing about them- unlimited popcorn and drinks. The cost of the tickets and the refreshments is better than at the Northpoint Mall theaters, and it's not so crowded.

Review from Craig G.
I've been a couple of times. This is at the back of the shopping center, so the flashy animated signs along the main roads may mislead you to the wrong side of the building. It's on Commerce Pkwy, so just drive around to the back and the elaborate entrance will be hard to miss. There's a big covered drop-off and walk-way which came in really handy on our last visit since it was raining. You walk through the miniature golf course (The Fringe) which is beautiful and has many water works. Tickets are purchased at the concession stand. Everything was clean and new although there are subtle hints to let you know that it's been remodeled from a previous incarnation. The entire staff was very friendly (atypical for most cinema theaters). The concession stand also offered cup cakes, muffins, black & whites, over-sized cookies, and there were nearby tables to sit at. Theater seating, sound, and screens were all good even in the "small run" theater. I haven't seen any indications of digital offerings, which would have been a nice touch. The location is very convenient for us, so given the quality this will probably be our cinema of choice.
