Moving to Arcata in January wouldn't have been the same without the drag king & queen show that ushered in the new Auntie Mo's. Bay Area transplant that I am, seeing the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence made me feel right at home.
Had fun dancing and even met some new people, one of whom has become a good friend. It also serves as a gathering place after political protests nearby.
Come down, have a drink, save a queer. -

I think they venue is amazing. But it's never really that busy.
And for me the importance of good music at a bar is way up there. The DJ here has a bad attitude and only CD selections (pretty old school). It's usually top 40 r&b or dance music- and he walks off and isn't even there for you to bother requesting a song or two.
Last Friday night they didn't even bother playing music till closing at 1:20 am everything shut down.
The bar tenders here are pretty nice. Andie is wonderful and always able to make anything you ask for. I'd like this place a million times more if they'd try to draw a larger crowd more often, because like I said the venue is killer! -

Aunty Mo's is CLOSED.
There are queers in Humboldt. There is no "queer" bar, as it were. -

A large space with two bars and friendly staffers. I try to hit this place up at least once every time I hit Humboldt County. Pinball is definately a plus!

I am the owner of Aunty Mo's Lounge and not here to review, just trying to get the word out about Humboldt County's only LGBT bar/nightclub between San Francisco, CA and Eugene, OR.
