You can't go wrong with the food at Aunt Chilada's. The chicken torta is out of this world. I've never been disappointed with the burritos either. The portions are plentiful. In fact, at times I wasn't able to finish. The decor is cheerful and bright with 2 flat panel TVs which are usually playing soccer or some other sport. Not my fave. The salsa bar has many different types of sauces and salsas from mild to very hot and jalapenos. Unlike other small Mexican restaurants, Aunt Chilada's does not limit you on the quantity. The place is always clean and service is fast and polite.
Having lived in AZ for years, I am aware of true Mexican food. Aunt Chilada's is not trying to be a "true" Mexican establishment. It is a small neighborhood Mexican, tex/mex "style" eatery. Just as most U.S. Chinese, Japanese or other ethnic restaurants do not serve food that is totally authentic nor does Aunt Chilada's. It does what it does very well and is worth a visit or two or three. -

Aunt Chilada's is pretty much the Northport equivalent of East Northport's Three Amigos. Featuring almost an identical menu (which is huge... really huge) and similar taste there really isn't much difference.
Ambiance: Place is small but long, very similar to Three Amigos although it is not as cramped and is a bit fresher. An authentic Mexican restaurant. 3/5
Food: One thing I am sure of about Mexican food is that they don't short you that's for sure. The portions are impressive. I had the enchilada style steak fajita burrito, which was the size of a red brick. It was tasty but nothing too special. Of course nachos were split, we had the gunpowder nachos that were delicious, hard to go wrong with nachos. Overall the food was good but not outstanding. 3/5
Service: Place order, food comes out quick, you pay afterwards, done. 5/5
Note: You can get an entree, nachos, and drink for about $20 (more than enough food for 2).
If I had to choose between Three Amigos or Aunt Chilada's it would be a toss up, go to whichever one is closer. -

There's not much to hate on here. They have a huge menu which consists of basically anything you could think of. The portions here are huge and for a great price. They have a self-serve salsa bar with like 8 different kinds of salsa/sauces to choose from. Service at the restaurant is great and your food comes out fast. I came here with my girlfriend and we split the california dreamin steak burrito, a carnitas taco, a chorizo taco, and chili. I found the tacos to be pretty mediocre. They were a nice size and came with cilantro, onion, and guacamole. I thought the carnitas was kinda bland, and the chorizo tasted like a hot dog. I'd skip the tacos next time. The california dreamin burrito was awesome, and comes stuffed with sour cream, guacamole, onions, peppers, jack cheese, french fries, and meat, so we went with steak. All that combined was one great, filling meal. I also loved the chili. It's really meaty, but it lacked any spiciness, and chili should atleast be a little spicy. For the price, i don't think you can beat the portions and quality you get here.

We moved from the west coast and were craving authentic Mexican food. This is it! Best tacos authenticos west of the Rockies. Great quesadillas. Huge burritos. And a great selection of fresh salsas.
Not a huge amount of seating, so be careful if you're going during lunch rush and want to eat in, but turnover is fast, and when the weather is good, they have tables outside.1 Previous Review: Show all »

BOYFRIEND AND I RECENTLY HAD A CRAVING FOR MEXICAN FOOD AND DECIDED TO CHECK OUT AUNT CHILADAS.....MUY DELICIOSO!!!! I had the gunpowder nachos, boyfriend ordered the pork soft tacos. We also enjoyed a side of guacamole. Everything was very delicous, large portions served lightening fast! The tropical salsa was extremely fresh and bursting with flavor. Nachos were greazy, filling and totally delicious. Try this restaurant if you want REAL Mexican food, you'll never go back to Taco Bell again.

This was a much needed venue in the Northport Village area, adding to the takeout selection of only pizza or chinese. The corn tortillas in the tacos authenticos are so delicious and they don't skimp on the fillings. The burritos are massive and never disappointing, and the quesadillas are filling enough to be an entree. LOVE their tropical salsa. This is a nice clean place that has been doing very well since it has opened and I hope it continues to do so.

After spending a few years in Southern California I'm beginning to realize it is hard to get really good, reasonably priced Mexican food on the East coast, I wasn't blown away by the enchiladas here and my boyfriends burrito was fine, just fine. Aunt Chilada's is okay but keep your expectations down.

This place by far has the best Mexican food in Long Island. It is pricy but it is worth it.

Great mexican/tex-mex. Burritos are all good. Enchiladas are awesome! Love the buffalo chicken nachos. For the price and amount of food you get, you can't beat this place. This place is owned by the same owners as three amigos. Both places are great, the only disappointment is that the menus differ. My wife likes the items on Three Amigos' menu better, and I like Aunt Chilados menu better. We alternate since we are located inbetween both.

food is delicious but seemed a little expensive to me-- portions were HUGE! Probably could have saved some dough and ordered less.

Incredibly fresh and tasty food at this new upscale Mexican quick-service restaurant in the CVS shopping center.
Calling it a burrito joint is an insult. Although Aunt Chilada's serves great burritos, it's in the major leagues compared to the farm teams of Chipotle and Qdoba, and the pee-wee t-ball league players at Taco Bell.
Inside this newly established restaurant you'll find a huge 40" plasma screen on the wall to watch the game while you eat and ignore the people you're with. The bathroom looks like it belongs in a fancy restaurant, not a quick-burrito-serving place.
Aside from the nice decor, they also have a salsa bar with some great salsas, some sadistically hot salsas, and some salsas coming in strangely suspicious colors of radioactive neon green.
Try the nachos - they're better than 90% of the nachos out there and fried fresh. The guacamole is better than 99% of the guac out there, and you won't be disappointed with it.
For a transcendental experience, get the Mexican Burrito and make sure to pack on the salsa verde and pico de gallo from the salsa bar. -

Formerly Jimmy's Pizza (had the old painted van out front), Aunt Chilada's is an informal tex-mex place that opened up this past January. Like Andy C. points out, it is clean and fancy looking with some nice tilework. The counterstaff had their youth going for them, and was into socializing with the delicious eyecandy in the form of the the other patrons. By my count, there are two plasmas, but both were showing "The View," which compromised the overall atmosphere and experience for me.
The food was decent, I had blackened chicken burrito ("Asharoken") which was seasoned with a salt-based dry rub. . . flavorful but very salty. The 6" chili mini wrap was a goddamn mess to try and eat, but it was awesome. Aunt Chilada's takes no chances, offering pretty much the same menu as Three Amigos (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) (it's even printed Chinese-style on legal sized paper; check-off what you want and sign your name). They offer the same salsa bar as anyone else doing this kind of thing (Three Amigos, Burrito Loco, Gold Mine, Green Cactus). Featured hot sauce selection of Green Yucoteco and Cholula? (I think, or maybe Tapatio) on the tables. Food and atmosphere considered, there is nothing fun, new, odd, or eclectic to be found here, it's a rather safe bet, and only if you live around here.
FYI, Aunt Chilada's has lunchtime delivery "to local businesses", $12 min. order, $2 charge. -

We heart this place! The poppers are the best yet! Another favorite is the Chicken Enchilada dish. It is worth the wait, sometimes there is one, esp on Cinco de mayo. The place was packed. That should speak volumes! I am spoiled so I don't want to go to any other local Mexican place around our area, I will only go here. Clean , friendly, and reasonably priced.

Aunt Chilada's is at its best when you stick to the authentic stuff. The "authentic tacos" really are, and they're as good as anything I've had in Mexico. The arroz con pollo or arroz con anything is also very good (and reheats well the next day).
We weren't fans of the fajitas or the BBQ burrito, but some of the burritos and wraps look interesting and we may try them later. The ingredients seem fresh, the food is served immediately, and there is the requisite salsa bar with 6+ salsas to choose from (or mix them up into a custom blend).
Great place to catch a quick bite without wiping out a 20-dollar bill. -
