Our waitress was pretty good. We got our food quick, but not too impressed by it. Ordered grilled shrimp tacos and they were really greasy, which you would think would be hard to do for grilled shrimp. Husband got the grilled fish tacos, he said his didn't have much flavor. We went there because someone in our group wanted too, would not choose to go back.

NOT a fan. Tried it twice and don't get it at all. People come here thinking its Mexican...NOT. It's everything. Huge menu includes spaghetti, huh?
Should be called ENCHALADAS...Mexican, and more. -

AC was recommended to us by a friend, so we decided to check it out.
We had fish taco's and creole shrimp tacos. The fish was not deep fried and the fish tacos were pretty good. The shimp tacos were a bit on the salty side and OK.
The beans were salty-nasty (made up word). I thought perhaps they had spilled the shaker into the batch. When we called it to the attention of the server, she offered to give us more rice to compensate.
We, like an earlier commenter, were suprised that there was a $3.50 charge for chips and salsa, which is normally complimentary in Mexican restarurants. Maybe this is a HH norm, but I'd be suprised.
Bottom line ... I would not go back. -

Surprisingly this food was the highlight of my culinary adventures in Hilton Head. The atmosphere is a mix between sports bar and college-town beach (is that a real thing?). This is not fine dining and the menu is very strange....who would think to combine Tex-mex and Italian? There is even a spaghetti burrito but I was not brave enough to try it.
The margarita pitchers were strong and not overly sweet. I like strong, I hate sweet, so fine by me! The food portions were very large for the prices, especially compared to other HH establishments. The fajitas I had were not the best food I have ever consumed, however they were not the worst either. They were satisfying but not noteworthy.
My favorite feature is the outdoor corn hole game. It comes complete with tiki torches, drink holders and a pebbled playing field. -

If you are looking for good authentic Mexican food, then stay far away from Aunt Chiladas. You will be very disappointed.
First off, you have to pay for the chips and salsa. Any well run, family owned Mexican place gives complimentary chips and salsa. And the salsa tasted like it was made from canned tomato paste. The only fresh ingredients were probably the chopped onions.
The ground beef in the tacos and other entrees was too spicy and reminded me of a box mix.
As my son said, "you know it's a bad meal when the beat part is the free ice cream." (kids get a free scoop of ice cream, which is a good thing when they won't eat their tacos because they are too spicy). -

Aunt Chilada's is the ultimate tourist restaurant: It advertises fun and something for everybody; it delivers incredibly bad food with no apologies for quality or price.
It's also perhaps as close to Babu Bhat's "Dream Cafe" on "Seinfeld" as you'll ever come. You want Mexican? Italian? Seafood? Steak? They got it all.
But do they do any of them well? Not that we could tell. Everything had a salty, warmed-over taste.
But was it at least at a decent price? Yeah, right. Everything was easily twice of what would be considered a fair price for the quality. Maybe the quantities were alright, but as Dennis Miller said, "two of shit...is shit." -

I could prepare a better a meal with my foreman grille and a quick dive in the dumpster!

Let me start by saying that I'm only giving one star because I have to. I don't want to sound like a snob because I'm really not a foodie. Except the fact that I recently stopped eating meat and dairy, I'm not above going to Taco Bell every once and a while.
Having said that, I do have a general rule of thumb that's served me pretty well thus far: if a restaurant claims to specialize in more than one cuisine (e.g., Mexican and Italian, Thai and Chinese, etc.), it most likely doesn't do either one very well. This holds true for Aunt Chilada's.
This place is the epitome of a tourist trap. When mom and dad get tired of spending a small fortune taking the entire family out to decent restaurants that are overpriced, they come here to eat this crap because it's cheaper. Still, would you pay to eat garbage? No? Then don't come here.
Do yourself a favor. When you want to eat more affordably on the island, go to the grocery store or a local fish market and get some food for the grill. Oh, or just hit Taco Bell - you'll regret Aunt Chilada's for days... -

All you can eat crab legs. That's the only reason I go here. My family used to go here where I was 12 and then it was actually a Mexican restaurant.

Went with 8 friends, atmospheres was like a spanish version of TGI Fridays. Everyone enjoyed the food, despite one dinner not getting served. Manager and waitress were extremely apologetic and compt his dinner. The Grilled wings were unreal......sooo good!! I'd definately go back

Very expensive, you even have to pay for chips and salsa! And if you want more chips, you pay again! The food is mediocre at best and the waitress was rude. You are better off going to La Hacienda down the road where the food is half the price, twice as good and the wait staff is great.

OK place to bring the kids when you're at the beach, just leave your expectations at the door. The food is meh at best-your typical tourist trap. Fajita tacos were decent. Avoid the gringo burrito.

This is a regular stop for us when we are on the island. The building is old, and could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the food is tasty. The service can be spotty, but the place is usually packed.

The food here was okay, but I was most impressed by the variety of food that they offered on the menu. I would recommend this place if you are with your family, I will definitely go back here because the service was so good.

Terrible, terrible food. Horrible wait staff. We've been here twice. Twice it's been bad. Took over an hour for our food to come out. You could tell my taco salad had been sitting there for a LONG time. Everything was watery & soggy. So gross. Don't go here!

Food was nasty-total greasy spoon. Worst Mexican I have had in ages. Had instant regret after eating it. Place was old and dirty to boot.
