Dined here last night for my mother's birthday and had an excellent experience. The atmosphere here is very intimate, making it perfect for special occasions. First impressions definitely exceeded my expectations. Upon walking in the door we were greeted by Augusto himself and led to our table where they had placed a couple of red roses knowing from the reservation that it was a birthday dinner. I was very impressed by this lovely personal gesture!
The rest of the evening followed suit. The service was excellent and our waiter was the best! Onto the food, I've learned over the years that you can generally gauge the caliber of the food your going to be served by the quality of the bread. Theirs was uh-mazing! The loaves came out hot to the table, crusty on the outside and warm, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth, light as air in the center. Seriously could have made a meal from this. Started with the crab bisque, which was unlike anything Ive ever had before. It wasn't heavy and overly creamy like typical bisque, I prefer vegetable based soup and this had just a touch of cream in it. Also had CHUNKS of crab meat not that shredded crab from a can, absolute perfection! The appetizers were just as good, again i could have made a meal from the fresh goat cheese ravioli. At the waiters suggestion, I order the Hawaiian wahloo special with scallops. It was absolutely cooked to perfection. The fish was seasoned perfectly, nicely seared on the outside and tender and buttery in the center. Same thing with the scallops. I was able to try the crab cakes which were 95% crab meat and the sea bass which was also excellent and came with the best forbidden black rice with huge chunks of lobster. So freaking good. They definitely don't skimp on the portion size either. Dessert was Creme Brulee, very creamy and and extra crispy bruleed top!
Everything here exceeded my expectations. Yes its pricey, but the high quality of both the food and the service is reflected in the price and this place is worth every cent. Augusto's is creative, unpretentious fine dining with the service and atmosphere to match. I will definitely be returning here soon! -

I was taken here by my boyfriend for my birthday, which just happens to be on Valentines day. This was unfortunate timing because everyone else in the area was trying to impress their girlfriends with this "classy" place.
The only reason we went was because we had a gift certificate. Everything I ate was horrible. Their olive oil tasted rank, which was just a chain reaction, because everything was smothered in it, from the bread to the entree.
I just did not enjoy my meal here at all. The service was friendly, but borderline annoying.
Its a restaurant trying to be very upscale and sophisticated, but just coming off as . . lame. I definitely will not be going back, even if i have another gift certificate. -

I recently came here with a group of friends. Like the other reviewers said, this place is hidden and very easy to miss.
The restaurant itself is pretty small and it's so cold inside! We asked the waiter to turn down the AC but it was still freezing so bring a light jacket.
I came here for lunch and tried the calamari fritta and the lobster ravioli. THE SAUCES HERE ARE DELICIOUS and they make their noodles fresh daily. The onion and spinach dip for the bread...what a delight. Many of my friends also joined the lobster ravioli club but some opted for the other options (lunch menu is limited but everything is delicious). The crabcakes had more crab than cake (+1) and the chicken and gnocchi as well as the lobster bisque was delicious according to my friend.
The only downside is that the service is extremely slow so make sure you have that time. -

This place is literally hidden in a little house in suburban PA. My mom brought me here with our family for a family birthday. What a hole-in-the-wall treasure!
The service was super slow, but if you're coming here - you are diinnningggg, as my mom likes to say. You don't even mind too much because you are so busy drinking your BYOB wine and savoring your appetizers.
Everything from the appetizers to the salads to the meals which are mostly seafood and meat (steak/lamb) with the tastiest sauces. Onion brulee, artichoke parmigiana raviol....
Amazing creme brulee also.
It's a little small and cramped when you first walk in and a little loud since they definitely put the money into the food instead of the decor, but it's totally a great place to go on a girls night out to catch up or on a date. -

Excellent - best in the area, bar none. I've been returning to Augusto's for years, and I've never been disappointed. I personally recommend the calamari appetizer, and one really can't go wrong with any of the entrees.

This is a great restaurant hidden off street rd. Service was great, knowledgable and friendly. It's byo too! The menu is the most upscale of byos you will in the area. I had a striped bass that was spot on. You will drop bills here though so be prepared. They do accept credit cards so don't worry about bring a wad of cash.

Been hearing about this place for years and the hubby and I finally checked it out a few weeks ago. Called on a Friday morning and we were lucky enough to get an early reservation for that evening. Cozy litte place - it really has no more than 15 or so tables, and they're close together. The building was definitely a private home in previous life. It's very unpretentious from the outside, but cute and cozy inside. The place was practically empty when we arrived - again, it was early (around 6:00ish), but I can see why reservations are "a must." The place filled up quickly, people waiting inside the small entrance and out on the street. Service is very polished and polite, without being too stuffy. Our server knew his stuff and was able to answer questions about ingredients, preparation, etc. that were spot on accurate. Appetizers were delightful - I had the ceasar salad which was delicious and artfully presented - very different! Hubby had the tomatoe-fresh mozzarella drizzled with pesto olive oil. Again, another work of art on the plate, so cute and different I actually took a photo of it with my cell phone! Hubby said it tasted as good as it looked. Hubby had the fish special - can't recall the name of the fish, but we had never heard of it. Server described it beautifully, as it was done in a blood orange reduction which he claimed was superb. I had the crabcakes. They were good, very meaty with little filler, but I've had better. Desserts were scrumptous and their coffee is also excellent. This is more of a special occasion spot than a neighborhood place. Cost of our dinner (keep in mind this is a BYOB) with tip was about $110. Will we go back? You betcha!

Wow. This place is out of control good. It's also out of control expensive but you get what you pay for as they say. The food was some of the best I've had. Make sure you try the onion brulee appetizer. It's a caramelized onion stuffed with crabmeat. Sounds weird but it was incredible. The presentation is like nothing I've experienced (granted I haven't been to a lot of fancy restaurants) but even the house salad is artfully presented. Why would they care at all about house salad presentation you ask? Attention to detail is the answer and Augusto's is a master at it. My girlfriend and I went for our 3rd year anniversary and they had a pink rose and card waiting for us at our table when we got there. I didn't even ask for it! Suffice it to say the wait staff floored us. Our waiter was extremely helpful and friendly, not to mention funny. The menu options were a little foreign to us and the waiter answered our questions expertly in a way that was not condescending as you might expect at a high end place. I've never had a waiter that good before. We had such a good experience that we immediately booked a reservation for Valentine's Day on our way out. Can't wait!
