Not the worst, but not the best.  I use to think it was great, but now I'm just in "it's ok" mode.  Maybe I just had it one too many times... who knows.

Not much else I can say so . . . All in all, Augies is worth going too.

Augies is THE place for sandwiches. They have recently started doing thin crust pizza that's pretty darn good, too. Last time I ate there I had the caesar chicken salad wrap, and it served as two meals. Very good food. The only complaint I have about them is that their other locations seem to be very substandard. I was excited to hear they'd opened a location in the Sears Tower, however having had lunch there once and only once, I can say it isn't run like the original here in Carol Stream.

"Augies". This is what I have ALWAYS known this place as since I was a kid. My dad's favorite sub sandwhich place, and I always reccommend it to everyone. I haven't had an Augie's sub in probably about 6 months, and now that I'm thinking about it the Italian, I'm craving it. Here's an update on that: I'm going to my parents house this Saturday to take pictures of my brother and his prom date, and I just called my mom at 10:00 at night and requested there be some Augies for us to eat.

The atmosphere of this place is pretty cool, the front of it is a huge jukebox and the inside is covered with neat pictures (a little like Portillos, but much better). It's just a cool place to go when you want something delicious to eat.

I don't really have many recommendations for this place other than the Italian sub. It's the only one I've ever had and I've always stuck to it. A friend had a ham and cheese sandwhich there one time and that was really good, too...but mostly I just love the Italian sub. Ohhhh boy....can't wait for Saturday!!!!

This place is classic....my Dad would bring me here after hockey games over at Carol Stream Ice Arena (when it had fence instead of glass).  I would always order a combo extra hot, large fries, and large coke.....that line up will never shoot you wrong.  The cold italian subs are excelllent, not the best I've had but really good.  You have to go during lunch just to watch the team behind teh counter.

This place has great Italian beef and egg salad sandwiches. A treat for us growing up and still a treat as an adult! The decor is 50's rock jukebox and the staff has always been friendly for me. :-)

They have a location in West Chicago and the Sears Tower too.

I used to live in Carol Stream and loved to go to this place to catch a bite to eat. I moved away about 5 years ago and seldom made it back. I now work in the Sears Tower and Augustino's has opened on the mezzanine level. This location is as good as the others and it is amazingly convenient to get to. When you are downtown and you have to check out this location. When you are there, look up and see all the vintage lunch boxes.... nice touch.....

Tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. The line made it look busier than it really was inside. I was a little thrown off by how they operate, but now I know better for next time - when you order the hot food, you're given a ticket to take up to the register, but you get all cold foods (sandwiches, salads) from whoever helps you at the deli counter, and then you bring those foods with you to the register. The hot food is then brought out to your table.

I got a turkey croissant which was huge and delicious. My step-daughter ordered spaghetti. She was given a generous portion (she couldn't finish it and that never happens with her and spaghetti) for only $5. My step-son got the kid's buttered noodles. It came with a drink, carrots with ranch dressing, and a package of Keebler graham crackers. All for only $3.99. My husband had a salad which he thought was good as well.

In all, our bill was $23 for four people. Everyone enjoyed their food and was stuffed. That's my idea of a good place to eat. We'll definitely be going back.

Back in the early 80s, this was a small little deli located in the strip mall next to the fire station. My mother liked to take my sister and I for italian subs. We moved away for 10 years, and when I moved back I remembered the most excellent subs I had from Augustino's. By that time, they had relocated across the way to the bigger location they are in today.

Even living in Lincoln Park, I would drive 30+ miles each way to Carol Stream just to have one of Augie's italian subs and macaroni salad.

I've moved away (again...sigh) and every time I visit the Chicago area I will drive, no matter how far from where I'm staying, to Carol Stream just to get one of their Italian Subs. There is no sub better, ANYWHERE.

My favorite sandwich place of all time.  I really haven't been to anywhere better, or even close for that matter.  If you don't believe me, just order their Italian or American subs and you'll see what I mean- and the prices aren't too shabby either.

Great food... fun atmosphere ... warm and helpful staff!  What more could you ask for?  This place is a favorite of ours when we are over that way!  Try it out... doubt you will be disappointed.

This place is always packed around lunchtime but the food is great and even if it's packed you are in and out within minutes.  The people behind the counter are always friendly even when they have lines out the door.  The prices are pretty good too and there is a pretty wide selection of food to choose from.

Great American and Italian subs, the best around. You'll never be able to eat at subway afterwards.
