Your basic diner fare, but our server was great! Meghan was very attentive and made great suggestions for entrees and desserts.

The chocolate chip cookie skillet sundae was monstrous and delish! We gave it our best shot. But between the two of us, it didn't look like we even made a dent! We needed at least three more people to help us out.

The manager offered us tickets to the hockey game, but we were all set in that department. It was a nice gesture, though.

Come here before a Sundog's game. Just make sure you bring a bunch of people if you order that huge dessert!

Augie's Place has gone out of business.  It is now the Fireside Grille.

"Augie's Place" is located across from Harkins Theatres, and about a quarter mile from the convention center.  I first visited this restaurant after my friend saw a local television commercial highlighting its offerings.

As an appetizer, I recommend the Calamari.  And for the entrée, I recommend the Ribeye, which is supposedly served with a "House Mustard Sauce" and a side.

Also, the Spinach Salad is also a good option, particularly for lunch.

Appetizers are less than $13.  Entrees range from about $9 to $23.  The Spinich Salad - as of writing this review - is $9.95.

While the food is good on this restaurant's best days, it is lackluster on others.  In summation, its quality is very inconsistent.  Moreover, I have seen the quality of service at this establishment drastically diminish over recent months.

For example, when ordering the Ribeye, I have not received the "House Mustard Sauce" more than half of the time.  Further, on all my takeouts, I am charged for the chips and dip when it is supposed to be free.

Other issues include poor packing (with the tops of the containers not properly sealed), leaking food packaging, and missing items (particularly the sides that are supposed to come with the entrée).

There are certainly other issues, but I think you get the point.

I may visit this place again in the future.  And I hope by then, improvement is made.

    This place can do better...

A total metamorphose from Augie's place, which recieved 5 stars on last review. The menu, theme, decor and building are all almost unrecognizable, however the address, owner and service remain the same. When seated by a friendly host, we were immediately offered fresh made potato chips with a creamy onion dip, interesting !?! and somehow went well with a longneck beer. Paper tabletop cover and crayons kept us doodling while waiting for the Calzone (which our server informed us would take 20 minutes to serve....and it did) and a crab salad croissant. The sandwich had a fresh crab flavor, but I'm curious about the crab to tuna ratio. My calzone was hot, fresh,  and good, I hesitate to say great because a great calzone is rare. The service was attentive and friendly and pricing is reasonable.  Cold beer, onion dip and casual a atmosphere, I guess there's not much more you'd expect from a restaurant with "All American Eats" in the name.

OUT OF BUSINESS - and it's no surprise why.  If they have a private event, they close the entire restaurant (this happened 3 out of 4 times I've tried to eat there), and the "potato chips" they serve as a free appetizer are totally charred and almost inedible.  Why did they turn this into a "sports bar"?  Like we needed another one of those in P.V.?  That was the final nail in their coffin.
