Awesome basic hotel, very clean, very nice staff, quiet a must stay that is off the beaten path!!!

We needed an overnight getaway to the Squaw Creek Wildlife Refuge and found Audrey's web site in nearby Mound City. Though we found mixed reviews, we decided to give it a try. It's an older place with clean, comfortable rooms at a reasonable rate ($59 with discount - AAA, senior or military) which suited us just fine. Our room was on the back side which overlooks a very rustic antique shop, the highway and the beginning of the refuge. There is a hot breakfast (sausage & pancakes) plus fruit, cereal, instant oatmeal, apple & orange juices and coffee. There is no in-room coffee maker or ironing board, but we didn't miss either. They have 60 channel cable and WiFi though their net is not secure. Also, pets are welcome.
