This is a follow-up to my previous review and yes I am still a patient of this wonderful young woman. She is kind, patient, and she really listens to you. For those of you who hate doctors that make you wait....she is extremely timely and the most I have ever waited is about 5-8 minutes...basically she respects the time of her patients.
Now if I could only figure out how to take her with me when I travel so I could avoid the aches and pains of airplane travel. (smile)Listed in: My Neighborhood

I thought that putting a heating pad on my sore muscle on my neck would help it out. Little did I know that it only inflames the muscle and makes it worse.
Well, I woke up the next morning and really wasn't able to move my head. My partner Yelped chiropractors in the hood and found Dr. Egan that morning.
She saw me at 9 am and told me to come back in 6 hours. So, then I go and see her at 3pm, so she could work a little more magic on my neck...It worked!
She was able to help me with my neck and adjust my back, all over a few sessions.
She is great and extremely helpful and totally flexible with her schedule. If I still lived in the hood- she's the one I'd see! -

When I first went to see Audrey Egan, I had such extreme neck pain that I was slurring my speech, I couldn't turn to either side without dizziness, and I had lost so much grip strength that I was unable to brush my teeth or eat with my right hand. OUCH.
After fifteen minutes on the table, I had nearly full mobility and the grip strength returned to my right side. The majority of my pain was gone (it was completely gone after two more visits) and I could once again function like a human being. It was seriously amazing, and best of all, pain free.
Audrey is great. Adjustments are done with ease and care, there are no lengthy treatment plans, and her prices are beyond reasonable. -

Audrey is a wonderful caring person as well as a dedicated healer. She is present and creative in her approaches. Her adjustments are very precise and her treatmments are thoughtful, creative, caring and VERY effective! I have been a massage therapist for over 20 years with a lot of chiropractic clinical experience and I believe she is the best! I am honored to work with her and privledged to recive her wonderful work.

I love Audrey. She is one of those rare people that are in the healing industry because they actually like to heal people. When you present her with a problem (i.e., your pain), she very carefully thinks about all of the possible treatments...even if they are not chiropractic. She has often added a little bit of massage and physical therapy to my adjustments just because she knew it would make the adjustment go better. She definitely takes a holistic approach to healing. And she really listens to your wants and needs and works with you on a plan to get you healthier. What a gem!

Super nice chiropractor. She's small but mighty. I have forever believed in chiropractic care. It does change your life. So, if it hurts, anywhere, Audrey can fix it...well...most of it.

Being an East Coaster, I am skeptical about holistic health care including Chiropractic services. My business partner had gone to Dr. Egan and couldn't praise her enough. You'd think he had an out of body experience. Anyway, I tried her out and found that she really takes the time to get to know you and listens to whats going on and any ailments, etc you are experiencing. It was interesting to learn about how everything is interconnected. Note for guys - having too big a wallet can throw your hip out of alignment, etc. I now see her every couple of weeks and find my mood and attitude to be better. Give me a few more months with her and I will be a believer instead of a skeptic.

Dr. Egan is fabulous! I've been seeing her since the fall of 2008. She listens to what you have going on, is a warm, genuine person, and I look forward to seeing her. I never feel as though I were being ripped off with extra visits and unnecessary treatments, which was something that had happened to me in the past. I have had less back and neck pain overall, thanks to her gentle treatments. She's a healer in the best possible sense of the word. And for those of us who have kiddos, she's kid friendly and has paper and crayons for the preschoolers and up.

This little lady packs a punch. She's everything one would want in a chiropractor: gentle, intuitive, efficient, effective, and personable. She doesn't pressure you to come in more frequently than you need to. The office is in a convenient location; there's often parking on the street and if you're in a pinch, you can always use the Safeway parking lot. In and out in 15 minutes. Clutter-free, clean office, and she always has a scented candle burning. It's like visiting a friend who puts you in funny positions and cracks your neck.

Audrey has been a life saver. She is always welcoming and warm. She has the skill I haven't quite found with other chiropractors I have seen. She has a good knowledge base and as a result practices with the upmost competence.

Dr. Egan is great! I found her on Yelp and called her when I was in a lot of neck pain. She got me in right away and was careful to make sure I didn't have any serious damage to my neck before she worked on me. She was slow and gentle until trust was established. Now I let her crack the heck out of me! She brought movement to an area in my mid-back that hasn't moved in 18 years and had been a source of constant pain. She has taught me stretches to maintain a healthy neck. She does the minimum amount of sessions and treatment to keep me in good shape. Thanks Dr. Egan!

Cannot say enough good things. Dr. Egan always helps me feel better. If I had the time, I'd be there every day for a treatment.

Review from lil' t.
San Francisco, CA
I absolutely can't believe that I haven't reviewed Dr. Egan yet. In short, she's AMAZING. I've been to a variety of chiropractors over the last 20 years, but never one quite as wonderful as the lovely Dr. Egan.
2 years ago when I was pregnant with my son, I was experiencing severe pain in my pelvis. SEVERE pain that wouldn't allow me to stand for more than two minutes or really be comfortable in any situation. I went to my doctor, who told me to wear a weight bearing belt (I only gained 25 lbs. throughout my entire pregnancy) and that it was too early to write me a note to get me out of work. I wasn't looking to get out of work, just to get rid of the pain. So I went to a chiroquackter in the Mission, who left me worried for the safety of my baby after he was done with me; he really only did some regular rough adjustments and spent 20 minutes looking up orthopedic shoes on the internet. Dr Egan on the other hand is specially trained in the Webster method to work with pregnant ladies. I went to see her throughout my pregnancy, and she relieved the pain. I had an incredibly smooth delivery (I'm one of those women who didn't experience a ton of pain in labor), and I give Dr. Egan partial credit for helping me to open the right way.
Once my son was born, I took him to see her. She did some very light cranial sacral adjustments, as well as some adjustments inside his mouth, and he was able to breastfeed much more easily. As my son began to crawl and pull himself up, I noticed that one of his legs was turned out. Dr. Egan adjusted his hips and straightened him out. It seems scary to bring your baby to a chiropractor, even if you're a chiropractic veteran yourself, but she is so gentle with the little ones that you just feel a sense of relief to have found her.
I now live in the East Bay, but love and trust Dr. Egan so much that I have just scheduled another appointment with her for some running induced pain. I know that I could go to someone closer, but she is just that good. -
Review from Cordane C.

I've found myself using YELP whenever I want to find out about almost ANYthing with regards to businesses, places or events so I figured I couldn't go to wrong locating a chiropractor I could get to from where I work that didn't mind taking cash payments (my insurance provider is seriously anti-chiropractic so my visits are out of pocket). Now I'm not one of these tree hugging root chewing natural remedy types but I've become increasingly incensed by Western Medicine's propensity to insist on preaching the "Headaches are due to aspirin deficiencies" doctrine. That being said, I tried out a Doctor who came highly recommended and reviewed and he even had an Internet ad for a $25.00 initial visit. Too good to be true...? Well - I scheduled an appointment and after explaining to him that I'd seen chiropractors frequently and was completely accustomed to the drill, I was sat down in a room and presented with a 10-15 minute video which should've been titled Chiropractic Care for Dummies...basically a lot of stuff I already knew and really didn't need a review on. So, after an initial investigation and very brief examination the Doctor informs me that I'm going to need $165.00 worth of X-rays before he can adjust me...which I interpreted as "Since I'm not really that interested in treating you as a patient I'll let myself off the hook and arrange it so we can pretend YOU made the decision." I was born at night, but not Last night so I thanked him and resumed my search.
Since I hadn't been adjusted in nearly 7 years, I was having more than my share of stiffness and lower back pain. Needless to say I was getting desperate. Amazingly enough, Good Luck and word of mouth brought me to Dr. Audrey Egan's doorway (on Fillmore almost 1.5 blocks from Geary across the street from the New Yoshi's). This woman took me through the works and by the time I was finished I couldn't believe how much better I felt. Her adjustments were absolutely on point and she just completely "nailed" the adjustments I refer to as the "Money Pops". She did this one move where she lifted one of my legs and, I swear, she literally snatched 6.5 years of pain and stress right out of my lower back. She was smooth and completely on target. I never felt even the slightest discomfort and when I left after my first visit I had this stupid smile plastered all over my face. I'd grown so accustomed to walking around in so much daily discomfort that I couldn't believe how great I felt after the adjustment. Now I'd planned to end the review here...but Dr. Egan did something that completely shocked the Hell out of me. I'd experienced a lung infection 3 months ago and had since been plagued with congestion and wheezing. Of course my primary care physician (from Brown and Toland) was more than happy to write me a prescription for a variety of inhalers and such, but my concern was more about addressing the cause instead of teasing the symptom. During my 2nd visit to Dr. Egan I mentioned I was experiencing some difficulty breathing and she had me lay down and did some kind of adjustment to the front of my chest which made a loud pop (...I think my ribs were out of place or something like that) then she explained something about my lower intestines while she was reaching down into my side. Now keep in mind that I went into this woman's office congested and wheezing and even though I didn't immediately recognize any difference in my breathing (past the release of tension in my chest after the rib pop), 45 minutes later I coughed 2 or 3 times and Lo and Behold, my congestion was completely cleared up...! I'm not lying or kidding about this...no inhaler, no advair none of that crap...I went nuts. I was calling all of my friends and telling them about this because, I've had great adjustments before but no one has ever adjusted me and gotten rid of wheezing.
Dr Egan is simply fantastic! She's completely down to earth with a great sense of humor and extremely nice but, most importantly, she's a complete master of her craft. Since I've been seeing chiropractors she's the very 1st one I'd feel comfortable saying if you weren't happy after getting an adjustment from her, I'd be willing to pay for it. Yeah...she's THAT good. -
Review from Eso R.

Dr. Egan is a personable chiropractor who takes the time to get to know her patients and their needs. I saw her throughout my second pregnancy because in my first labor I had incredible painful back labor (of 54 hours) that ended up as a C-section due to my daughter's malposition. I wanted to avoid this at all costs the second time around. Dr. Egan, who is trained in the Webster technique, helped me achieve a VBAC (vaginal delivery after cesarean) by preparing my body appropriately for the delivery. A week before my delivery, she even came into the office to see me on her day off! That's incredible dedication to her work and patients. When I went into labor, I had no back labor and labor was only 5 hours. Thanks Dr. Egan!

Review from Nancy M.

I went to Dr. Egan unable to stand erect without considerable pain. She provided an extremely thorough exam (even though I had already been a patient of hers) after which she adjusted me and re-checked my mobility. She continued treatment on that day until I was able to stand and walk with almost no pain. I saw her the next day to confirm that the adjustment was stable.
I have been to a number of chiropractors who "do their thing" and send you on your way with a "come back next week etc. etc.". Dr. Egan takes the time to really check you out. She's not a "crack it & out the door in 2 minutes or less" chiropractor! She is caring and thorough and goes beyond the norm.
I also have her do occasional adjustments on my twin toddlers. My son was born wih torticollis (tightened neck muscle) which would have caused grave problems if left unchecked. Dr. Egan's chiropractic care in conjunction with physical therapy has almost totally resolved my son's torticollis. Dr. Egan is GREAT with all her patients, but my kids thinks she is the BEST!! She is truly a family chiropractor! -

Dr. Egan is extremely caring and knowledgeble. She has a very intuitive approach on how she deals with what you tell her of your ailments, and, along with what her hands feel, she always provides treatments that produce immediate and lasting relief.
She has helped me recover from ski injuries and various other problems. I have gone to her for over a year, and even got my husband (whose was a serious skeptic) to go. After his first visit with her, he was instantly converted (as well as relieved of his pain). -

I like this woman and I've never even seen her. I threw out my back and she was all booked up. But she called me right back, even on a super busy day, to see if there was anything she could do to help and hooked me up with another chiropractor. That kind of caring is so rare and I really really appreciate it.

I've gone to Dr Audrey for over a year for adjustments. Sometimes I get severe pain in my hip and she has done wonders to remove the pain in just one session. I highly recommend her!
