I went here sometime late last year to have a Focal Sub, Focal Components and Audio System amps installed, as well as some iPod adapters and a Pioneer Nav/Touchscreen unit.
My car is not an easy car to work with and extensive modifications to the door panels/etc was required. I had a custom box made for the sub that was slightly smaller than recommended. I blew the sub within a week, they swapped it no questions asked and used a special filler (not just poly) in the box and I've had no issues since.
There's a little electrical whine.. almost unnoticable but I can't blame that on them the car has had extension engine modifications that I'm sure contributed to that.
Their work on my car has received many compliments and has been in dozens of magazines.
I'll definitely be returning to them! -

Wow, some harsh reviews on this business. I'm surprised. I had two great experiences with them. What people don't understand is it is difficult to accurately estimate installation time. Oh, and you get what you pay for. Nothing I dislike more than yelpers trying to pay rock bottom prices for top shelf service and results.
These guys did my boat with a $5,000 system that sounds crystal clear and pounds all day long. The install was all custom fabricated and hidden from view. You have to crawl under the dash and cubby area to see it. And when you do its pristine. All wires are cut/hidden and tucked as they should be and all gold plated terminals etc. It really is a work of art. They did a custom fab plate for my pre-amp in my dash. This was no easy task as it is a curved surface in the boat vinyl. I really wish I could post pics of it on Yelp to squelch all the poor review here.
Second job was much smaller. They put a custom fabricated speaker panel across the back of my Expedition. Again, it was a tough spot to put speakers to pull the sound toward the back a little for third row listeners. The results look factory. They did a custom form foam bar with vinyl wrap that matched perfectly. Sounds great and price was fair.
Why only four stars? Call me picky but they don't seem to have their scheduling down very well. I understand running a small business is difficult and one may have the tendency to prioritize big jobs over small. I assume that's what happened when I cleared my Sat schedule to drop off my truck and was told I'd have to come back in a few days. Not a major deal but it would have been nice to been told this in advance. To their credit they ended up making the custom speaker holder/grilles etc. so I'm sure it took more time to do this and perhaps adhesives had to cure. Othwerise its a five star biz.
They are always in there messing around with their own systems so I know this is a passion of theirs. -

If you want unprofessional stoners to install your expensive equipment, be my guest.
These guys charged me $180 to use double sided tape, stay away from this place. Everyone who wrote a good review works there!!!!

I've been coming to Audio Images for quite some time now. I've had AI install a couple of after market stereo systems in a couple of my rides. I'll be sending them my Suburban this weekend. Jeff Jones has always done such a great job, on coming up with the best system for my money. He has always given me options, and has a deep understanding and knowledge of this industry.
As for Amy's comments below, she obviously doesn't know what she's talking about. I know for a fact, all the motorcycles, and custom whips they hooked up are legit!!
I recommend all my friends and family to go see Jeff Jones at Audio Images. Every one of them have been taken care of, and treated professional with the up most respect. Audio Images is definitely the spot to go for Slap!! :) -

This place sucks....When they installed my fog lights they put a major ding in my paint from the drimmel catching and ripping across.
The $250 hands free device they sold me never worked.
I ended up making 4 trips there due to the fact that the job ither was not done, or done so poorly that I didn't want to have to bring it back.
I came here because of yelp. But at this point I just went to someone elts to re-coop the damage because I was tired of dealing with them, and will never go back. -

One of the last car stereo shops left in SM County. I've been into car audio since the late 80s and to find a good shop that stands behind their work and can get it right the first time is quite difficult. I've been to shops in the past that really have no idea what they are doing, including one that installed an amp in the wrong location and crossed the wires, ended up with it catching on fire while in motion. Audio Images (AI) has been around for years, with the current owner, Jeff being there for a little over 3 years.
I met Jeff while he was an installer at VIP a few years back, when VIP closed down, Jeff bought out AI and became the new owner. AI is located on the busy street of California Ave about 2 blocks South of Broadway in Burlingame. They have a really nice showroom and are authorized on brand such as Pioneer, Focal, MB Quart, Clarion, and JL Audio. Their services range from simple drop-in factory replacement systems to full show systems with multiple subs and TV screens.
AI has done work for many local hiphop celebs as well as athletes from the Warriors to the niners. I went to them recently to drop in a Pioneer navigation unit into my car. This is probably one of the few shops that actually gets the work done before they tell you its ready. Most shops are usually a good hour or two behind, I dropped off my car around 1pm and was told to be back at 4 to pick it up. I got dropped off a little early, around 3ish and it was already finished and waiting for me. The installer went through the operation of my new unit and answered all my questions and explained how they set everything up. They even went as far as installer extra wiring in case I wanted to add an amp, sub, backup camera, etc in the future.
Definitely give AI a A+ for their work and great customer service. -

Had a few grand in my pocket and wanted to see about putting in an aftermarket stereo with the the focal speakers I had read about. Only a few authorized dealers around and these guys have good yelp reviews so i went to check them out.
Like Best Buy, this store has a couple front listening areas to sample the sound. It's not intuitive, however, so I wasn't able to figure it out. Approached the counter guy but he didn't know how to work it either.
After waiting around without anyone helping, I started to feel like an idiot so ended up walking. From the other reviews, I am sure they can do good work on your car. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day but yea, 2 stars as I've experienced better. If you are going to check them out, I recommend calling ahead to set up an appt rather than dropping by. Good luck. -

Summary: superb job, professionally done with cheer, kindness, and speed. And all at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
This place doesn't have a website; don't bother looking. It looks like it's run by a couple twenty-something punk rocker car audio nuts and it pretty much is. If you can get past that, they can hook you up in style for cheap with a job well done.
My friend went from a car with no speakers (big holes in spots) and a jacked headunit (no display) to four badass speakers and a great MP3 headunit with aux in for $300 total parts and labor. They even tossed in bigger speakers in back "to better fit in" and didn't charge us anything for it. They were done in about two hours with no appointment. Amazing.
Would definitely go to these guys for more audio work. -

Went in early on a Saturday morning as the first customer of the day and was greeted by Jeff Jones. I only needed a few ISO screws to screw in my new stereo because thieves made off with my old one (bastards!), but was still treated with first rate respect. Jeff went out of his way to sift through a couple drawers of miscellaneous screws and made sure I had extras. Off the cuff, I asked if they had any cases I could use to store my stereo faceplate in -- they had one! I probably could have walked out of there with free screws and a case, but I asked how much I owed because of the really cool service that I received. Made out of there with what I thought was really fair.
From my short contact with jeff, it's definitely a place I'd use if I needed anything car audio related in the future. -

Ok so I walked in to audio images in june of 2007 and got a price for a nav system and a viper alarm. I then went to pacific stereo in Redwood city and they beat the price I got from AI so I had pacific stereo do the work. It took them a day and a half to finish and I had to take the car back 7 times because of the crap work, so I decided to go to AI and see if they could fix it. They took the car for a day and were able to make everything work perfect. I have gone back many times to add thing to my car and they are fast and do quality work. The price is just right,and the customer service is great.I would say if you need electronics put in you car wether it's a simple
install or custom job these are the guys to get it done.so to everyone at AI

I decided that I needed a subwoofer to improve my car stereo, and wanted to go somewhere close to home. I read the reviews, and decided to check the place out in person. I met with Jeff who helped me narrow down what I wanted, wrote me an estimate and even squeezed my installation in the same day, even though they had a garage full of cars already. Jeff didn't try to sell me more than I needed, and took the time to give me options.
While they were installing the amp and sub, they noticed that my battery was severely corroded. When they called me to let me know and ask me what they should do, I was sure that I would not have my car back for another day. But they promised to get Interstate to drop off a new battery and still have it all done by the end of the day. They were true to their word, and did a great job. The sub sounds awesome, and the price was fair.
I would not hesitate to fully recommend them to anyone. -

this company sucks!!!!!!! those pictures on that website are jobs that are not done by this company. they are other peoples work. that should be illegal, using other peoples work to promote your own company is dishonest and cruel.
customers that like what they see on this website should know that there is another company in this area that will give you the best/ honest service in the bay area. and they wont use other peoples work to make themselves look better... geez what a disgrace.

I'm unimpressed. Nice guys and all, but they didn't do my job right the first time and made no effort to apologize despite the cost and inconvenience that caused me.
I brought in an aftermarket DVD player to be installed. These guys helped me think about the right installation and upsold me to some additional features that cost me more $$ but I was OK to spend the money since it sounded like a good solution.
After all that, however, the install wasn't done correctly and following two straight mornings of a completely dead battery I figured out the install was the problem and yanked the power out. The guys at AI figured out the problem and fixed it the second time, but it would have been nice for them to offer me some consideration for the money I had to spend getting the car jumped or at least say "sorry". -

They installed the alarm in my convertible Z a few years back. Recently, the alarm went bad. They stood by their work and offered a very fair price and installed a replacemet. I highly reccomend these guys.

These guys know their stuff! I had purchased a new remote for my Clifford two-way car alarm and I had trouble programming my remote - it would only lock/unlock. I took it here and w/in 15 minutes (and a minor labor charge) everything was working perfectly.

I was looking for an auto shop to install a module for my head unit, went around and asking for quotes. Most shops quoted me at 80-90, while Audio Images quoted me at 65-70 for the work. Went in next day and got it done in an hour without any problem, the work was CLEAN and FAST! Best of all, they charged me the lesser amount of the quoted price!
Definitely highly recommended! Definitely going to come back here for all my future installs! -

Audio images installed a deck in my truck and did a great job. It only took them an hour fifteen and did it for a reasonable price. Aaron asked me questions and new what equipment my truck needed with out even looking at it. They are knowledgable and experienced.
I recently sent my Uncle in to have some speakers installed in his Jeep. They determined he just needed new tweeters. They did NOT try to upsell him into something he did not need. Instead sold him a great part and now his stereo sounds much better than the factory system ever did. NIce work guys. -

One of the best custom audio shops left in the bay area. Right in the heart of burlingame they deal with allot of high end clients and vehicles. I have been going there since 98! I still to this day pick up equipement from them and if they don't have it in stock they can usually get it within a day or two. Jeff and Aaron always give fair prices and stick by thier word. I give them a thumbs up! Keep up the good customer service!

So I decided to check this spot out because of its yelp reviews. I just bought a car, and i was pretty damn sensitive about it. I didnt trust it in no ones hands!!! especially to rip out my deck, and replace it. But i showed up three days before the install, because i wanted a specific dash kit, they didnt have it. But aaron and jeff looked at few places, and found the right one, ordered it, and had it in time for the install. The install was hella clean! it looked good, and I had mixed feelings about it in the first place, i was nervous! In the end it came out perfect, and they took care of everything i needed, and ran my ipod, and usb cable were i needed it. Minus one star for time, but hey i've never gotten anything installed and the time they told me to finish was right. No big deal, its about the work, the price, and service. Which was 5 stars in my opinion.

These guys put a system in my friends bike, when he rode off the bag fell off and ripped all the wires after that was repaird the sound kept cutting out! I think he was Charged too much for the shotty work. Maybe sears will start installing Beat!

Went back to finish up some audio work once a part came in. Cost was lower than estimate. I was sold products that fit what I needed not over sold items that would jack up the cost. These guys know and love the work they do. I plan on returning for future car audio needs and suggest you at least get a quote from AI when shopping around. Ask for Aaron the manager he is very knowledgeable.

my speakers went out in my car one night decided to check this spot out. they recognized my car. im guessing the previous owner got some work done here before. but they were koo. diagnosed the problem and fixed it hella quick. would go back to get stuff done
