Moving cross country is traumatizing for many reasons. But for a girl with long hair, leaving your stylist you've been seeing for 5 years was particularly difficult.
Luckily, it only took me 2 mediocre haircuts before finding Christy at Auburn (recommendation from a friend.) Um, she is amazing.
She cut my hair in a way that I can actually wear it curly (vs straight). It's never looked decent curly before. She also listens to what you want but does what's best for you. I need someone to make suggestions! -

I'm giving this place 5 because one, hands down the best hair cut I've ever had, and Lisa was super knowledgable about hair. She knew the ins and outs of shampoos and different products and hair colors as well as hair types.
I am a model with thick, long, and a LOT of hair. it's so hard to get the right hair cut, it's even and has been layered so it looks lighter and even good curly.
Cut my hair forever
Also great because you can book online. -

I went to Auburn Salon for my first appointment yesterday, and I was completely satisfied and delighted. Lisa Bail is an extremely good listener, and I walked out of the salon looking exactly as I hoped I would. Not only did I get a good haircut, but Lisa provided me with an hour of fascinating conversation and even some great tips for my own work. The salon is small, updated, and a perfect scale for my needs. If your current stylist has suddenly become "too cool for school" and you are looking for the expert personal attention and service that is becoming increasingly rare, I highly recommend a trip to Auburn and Lisa.

Jeannette Haven is a great stylist who always does an amazing job touching up my roots. I have tried other salons but it never came out the way Jeannette does it. I would highly recommend her if you have blonde hair and need your roots touched up.

Auburn is an awesome salon just off of Montana in Santa Monica. As the previous commenter mentioned it is stylish, casual, and friendly. I would also add to that description unpretentious. Lisa Bail, the salon's owner, has been doing my hair for the past decade. I have never been unhappy with the results. I trust her judgement completely and rarely even have to tell her what I want or need because she already knows! Over the years my children have become Lisa's clients as well. She has an amazing ability to make any client regardless of their age, sex, or social status to feel as if they are her only and/or her most important client. I would highly recommend Auburn to anyone who is looking for a professional and yet friendly salon that caters to their clients.

I just had my hair done by Suzanne at Auburn. I had never heard of the Brazilian blowout, but it is AMAZING. Apparently, it is the new "in" treatment because your hair looks as if it was blown out on a daily basis. Your hair is straighter, still has volume and is healthier and shinier. It is crazy. The basic premise of the treatment is that the product that they put in your hair contains Keratin, so it doesn't damage your hair like the Asian straight perms. Suzanne also gave me am amazing bob cut. My hair looks stylish, but it doesn't look as if I am trying too hard. You should definitely check out Auburn and ask for Suzanne. She knows about all the latest styles and treatments and is great about spending a good amount of time on the consultation part!
