My sweetie and I came here for our one year anniversary. Both of us had an outstanding time! I purchased the "Romantic Interlude Package"; this included a variety of nice things that weren't included in a normal stay, and we were quite pleased with what we received!
As you can tell from the map, this isn't located in a big city or urban area, but there is plenty to do at this resort--they have golfing, boating, fishing, and plenty of other activities. In the hotel itself, there's a bar and restaurant. We really enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant--the food was quite good!
Our room had a spectacular view of the lake; I requested a lakeview room, and the view of the lake surrounded by fall foliage was amazing and well worth the extra cost. Had the weather been warmer, I would have loved to eat outside and enjoy the view!
The staff was VERY friendly; typically, some places give younger folks the shaft because they think they either won't tip well or will be rowdy. That wasn't the case here--we had a private swim as part of our package, and the staff more or less let us stay there as long as we wanted (we were only supposed to stay for a certain period of time). Also, the prices were quite reasonable.
This place is located close to Amish Country, and spending some time there after your stay at Atwood is a great way to extend your vacation just a bit longer... :)
All in all, we would definitely come here again! I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a location that will enable them to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
