After one of the dolphin cruises in Ocean City canceled on me due to not having enough reservations, my group decided to drive the half hour to AC the next day and do the 1:00 dolphin cruise. My expectations were pretty low after having been whale watching in Provincetown, MA, but I was pleasantly surprised! I thought we might see a dolphin or two jump out of the water once, but we actually saw a lot and they jumped out of the water close to the boat a number of times. The tour also does offer a guarantee that if there aren't any sightings, you can come back another day for free. It cost about $35 per person and children under 4 were free. The tour was 2 hours and they also took you past Trump Marina to see some of the yachts and other boats. This tour was my favorite activity that we did while staying in Ocean City for a week. Seeing animals in their natural environment where they are free and wild is really amazing. So much better than the zoo!

We were already at the A.C. Aquarium and we saw the sign for Atlantic City Cruises and went over to their little booth to check out their schedule.

They have a two hour long skyline cruises in the morning and happy hour cruise closer to sunset, but we opted for the two-hour dolphin cruise that starts daily at one o'clock.

The pricing for the cruise was interesting in that when I got there the woman asked me if I had AAA and told her that I did but I let the membership expire two or three years ago.

She said that was good enough for her and proceeded to give me the AAA discount since I had been a AAA member at some point in my life.

The boat itself left about ten minutes late as they waited and waited for some people that never showed up.

The route of the boat takes you out of Gardner's Basin and then turns north and goes along the coastline of Brigantine.

We were out about 45-50 minutes when our Captain found a pod of six dolphins that were also going along coast. We followed them for about half an hour, during which time the boat was turned around multiple times so that everybody on both sides could see the dolphins multiple times.

After that we returned to Gardner's Basin after going along the A.C. coast to look at a casino or two and getting to see a few buoys up close.

The only real negative of the whole tour is the Captain will constantly push going inside the boat to get alcoholic drinks during the trip. After twenty minutes it was annoying beyond belief.

Other than that, Atlantic City Cruises delivered on their guarantee of seeing dolphins and that is what matters.

Took the 1:00 dolphin-watching tour and I really enjoyed it. Was a beautiful day, boat wasn't overly crowded, so everyone could get a good view. The captain was very good about managing our expectations and gave us running commentary that was at the appropriate level (not too excessive) while we were "on the hunt". After 45 minutes or so, we found a pod and the captain was very good about giving both sides of the boat a good look. Was a  lot of fun watching the animals in their natural habitat. I will be doing this again.
