Have been here a few times to see concerts when spending a drunken gambleraholic few days in this city of depravity and vice. Always a solid spot to catch a band perform and pull myself away from the blackjack tables for a few hours.

Have seen Fleetwood Mac, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and others here. The place itself is set up like a basketball  / hockey arena with concession stands all around the outside featuring all kinds of foods, snacks, and beer. Great sight lines, good sound and acoustics, lots of seating, clean bathrooms, and easy access right on the AC boardwalk. Even drink and food costs are cheaper then in NYC venues.

Just a really nice venue to see a show. All types of events go on here - concerts, sports, comedians, etc.  Plan it right for when a favorite act is performing during one of your weekend getaways to AC!

I loved everything about this place. The acoustics were great, we had a perfect view of the stage from our seats (which were half the price of MSG) and they sold real booze! The crowd-watching was some of the best I have seen in a while (it is AC after all). I'll totally take another road trip to AC Boardwalk Hall for a show!

I came here on Friday to see Usher (with Akon as an opener) with my sister for her birthday.

The  venue is very outdated. The steps are extremely narrow, so tread carefully whether going up or down (We saw many people, including the usher, stumble up and down) and the acoustics as Zanna said aren't the best. They also had a very odd assortment of concessions including funnel cake, personal pizzas, curly fries, and candy by the pound.

All in all, the beginning was alright, but the sound was so bad during the Usher part we left early.

HBO has done an interesting thing by evoking the movers and shakers who put this now old hall up.

Burt Lancaster and Louis Malle also captured the ambiance of "old" AC.

The hockey was better than that exhibited in Slapshot and the ECAC Ice Hockey tournament contract has two more years on paper so there may still be life left in this old barn.

    That's good.

A solid venue for a concert. The sound is phenomenal and the sight lines are good everywhere.
The staff is friendly from the ticket takers to concession stands, and the price of food/drink is reasonable.
Having an entrance only along the boardwalk makes for a tough entrance prior to the event and things can get a bit too crowded.  Once inside, the concourse is well spaced.
The bathrooms are kept clean and wait times are fairly minimal.
I would be happy to return.

It's cavernous to be sure, but somehow the sound was not bad.  Attended three Phish shows over Halloween weekend and the band filled up the space and blew the roof off!

The security was very polite, for the most part, as were most of the vendors.  I also thought the food was very reasonably priced, cheaper to eat in the venue then on the boardwalk.

The smokers' balcony had an excellent view of the boardwalk, and I never waited in line for a bathroom.

We were told it gets rather loud when they have races, but I would totally go back for another rock show.

Once again sports arena = bad concert venue.

I saw Tool here last summer and the acoustics are terrible. Sound bouncing around off the dome ceiling kills all the vocal effects the band is known for. Also trying to do a laser light show in a huge dome facility was a bad choice on the band's part. They could not begin to get enough smoke in the venue for it to work.

We've gone to a bunch of concerts here over the years. Over all it's fine, just dated looking. The limo enterance is kinda blech with a pretty rough looking ceiling, but well situated.

Attended a Michael Buble concert there.    Great Acoustics.  Conveniently on the AC Boardwalk.

Boardwalk hall is a great place to see a show.  Right on the boardwalk the hall has all of the modern amenities but still retains its historic beauty.  We had a great view from our seats and the sound was great.  Plenty of bathrooms which remained clean the entire night.  A warning however, watch the beer lady (section 220?) cause she will steal your beer or your money.

I love the atmosphere in AC on a fight night. Its actually better than being in Vegas for a fight b/c in Atlantic City, everybody knows its a fight night and the city breathes excitement. In Vegas, people are on vacation, are from another country, are going to shows...etc.

NYC and Philly have the best fight fans in the country. We love boxing and get behind our local boys like no other (Gatti, Cotto, Hopkins...). The energy at Boardwalk Hall is always at a high level but the venue itself has its flaws.

You literally walk in from the boardwalk, which is cool but will have to stand in line for beer for an eternity. Prices for tickets, food, drinks are all insane. $50 will get you seats about a mile from the ring, but thats boxing for you. Unlike most boxing venues, the Hall is shaped like a rectangle with the ring on one side, not centered. Therefore, one side of the rectangle stretches way out, away from the ring. Comfortable seats with lots of space but you CANT SEE THE DAMN FIGHT, so whats the point.

Basically, if you want to SEE a good fight here, spend some money. If you want to be part of a great fight crowd and have the convenience of casinos and whores just steps away, then Boardwalk Hall is your destination.

I went here for the Williams vs. Martinez fight on December 5th. Inside of this huge building with a character-less facade is an ancient-looking 'ballroom' surrounded by seats. The architecture of this place is really interesting because it looks like it's rich with history: it was built in 1926, and still looks it. The concourse area, where food stations are set up, is huge and dark. The hallways have a very old/mysterious look and feel to them, kind of like a scene from Ghostbusters or something.

Food was surprisingly affordable...at least by venue standards. A personal pizza (which was great, by the way - highly recommended...it's not that microwaved garbage!) was around $7-8, which would have been at least $5 more at any large stadium. I've never been to a place like Boardwalk Hall before - it was somewhat funny to watch a boxing event with what appeared to be a high school auditorium stage behind it, and even bleachers that you have to walk past to get to the balcony.

If you're going to a boxing event, you'll have a very close-up view no matter where you are, and you'll definitely want to bring your good camera as you can get some great close-up shots.

I paid $50 for seats in the 2nd row of the balcony, and the view was great (considering the "small" size of the room as compared to other places like Madison Square Garden).

My biggest gripe with the Boardwalk Hall were the seats. After sitting in them for a few hours, you'll get severe ass and leg pain because they're so narrow, and there's virtually zero leg room. You'll want to get up for any intermission that you can, just to stretch or walk around.

Overall, this is a very historic place and is definitely an interesting experience to see anything "modern-day" happening in it, while you're surrounded by very old architecture and a pretty cool looking painted ceiling of a sunny sky with zodiac signs.

Don't judge a book by its horrendously ugly cover - the Boardwalk Hall is great! I first came here for Lady GaGa on July 4th, and was amazed. I expected it to be crumbling and decrepit, but it was nothing of the sort. It was clean, spacious, and very nice. Even the staff was nice!! Food prices were quite reasonable as well. It's extremely easy to find your seat, and I would venture to say there isn't a bad one in the house. I was equally as pleased when I returned for Aerosmith in August. I definitely look forward to returning, especially to the next GaGa show! This place blew me away.

I'm partial to this place, because I had an internship here with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies Hockey Team(RIP) When I wasn't trying to get people to signup for ticket packages I had the great opportunity to watch every single game. Also my grandfather was a foreman and help build the Old Atlantic City Convention Center, so thats another reason why I give this place 5 stars. I've seen the Miss America Pagent here once when I was younger, and also Simon and Garfunkel Reunion Show a few years back. Good Stuff

Went here to see both Madonna concerts. It is a nice venue and pretty small. It is great that it is right on the Boardwalk and just a hop skip and a jump from either side. They have alot of different events here which is great. The food here was reasonably priced also.

I'm not sure what this venue is used for all the time, but I was here for a college basketball tournament and I came away very impressed with the facility as it was set up. It has a very cool vibe inside with huge ceilings and a large painted mural one end. It is a perfect size so you can easily get to concessions and such during timeouts. They also had a separate room/gym where they had a bar setup and TVs/activities.

From the television telecast this place looks immaculate, being there live it just doesnt quite measure up.  Dont get me wrong, its great for a sports venue such as boxing and its very easy to meet the boxers themselves. Otherwise its very average, the only time this place rocks if Arturro Gatti is fighting... but thats no more.

If you like old Barns, where the places don't look like every other modern venue, this is the place for you.  I miss the events in the old hershey arena, and going here for a weekend concert brought back memories of more than a few years ago.
