This is a great location to access the beach. The beach terrain is definitely east coast with the sea oats and grass mixed through the dunes.The waves are not huge, but we do have our rip currents and it can be treacherous at times. THere are life guards on duty in certain spots only. There are restrooms and an office to receive first aid if necessary.
During hurricane season last year the walkway to the beach was washed away and it is still under construction, but there are other direct ways down to the water.
Beach combers will have a good selection of shells to gather to.You will always find Shore fisherman looking for a catch during all seasons as well.
A must for visitors to N.C. We are locals and go to the beach in and out of season.
