Review from Apearl C.
After my awful experience at the Ponce de Leon public library yesterday this location was a lovely change. I was worried all of the Atlanta-Fulton public libraries we homeless or stinky person filled. But this branch not only proves they are not, but much more.
This branch has free wi-fi. The staff is very friendly and nice. It has a nice size parking lot and street parking. This location is not very big but has several tables and sitting areas. Outlet are available near the tables for patrons to use, which I was happy about. There are a lot of computers at this location as well, for those who do not bring their own laptops!
There are lots of windows and I really enjoyed the warm sunlight during the peace and quiet in here!
I will be back! -

This has to be the cleanest library in Atlanta. I choose this location instead of the one on Ponce because it has tons of computers and a reservation system for them. They even have an awesome self checkout.
The downsides are that the selection of DVDs seems to be scratched pretty frequently, the hours are a bit odd and the staff don't seem to mind if people leave their cell phones on and talk loudly. C'mon, it's a library. -

This branch is very nice. It's clean! Doesnt smell. And you don't feel grimy when leaving. Free wifi that actually has decent load times. Plenty of tables/chairs. A table can fit 3 people easily. 7-8 reading chairs in the front and near 12-15 computers. Great children selection, and an impressive movie section. Always nice and cool with the Air Conditioner.
The only down side is the inconstancy of hours. Here's the link to the website for the hours of the branch.

So new it still has that "new library" smell. Which I just made up.
Like any other library in the Fulton County system, you can check out books from any branch and have them delivered to your local branch for pickup (usually takes about 7-10 business days if the book isn't checked out when you place your hold order). Which is a good thing since this newest branch in East Atlanta Village is really small. There are a decent number of computers to use for research, checking out books, or for the internet.
The staff is nice at this branch. They let me get a Fulton County library card even though I live in Dekalb County. I'm in the neighborhood, but live about a block across the county line. If you can show some ID with a street address in EAV, they'll still give you a card. -

This branch is insanely convenient for me and the staff is friendly and helpful. My permanent address is in gwinnett, but have lived in town, practically across the street from this branch in fact, for years. When I came in to renew my card, all I had to do was print out a bank statement with my current address on it and i was set. Took less than 5 minutes. I would advise that you check their hours before you decide to pop over. They seem to vary from day to day.
It is very small, however, the majority of what I do here is pick up materials that I order from other branches which requires a simple walk in, grab your books off the hold shelf, and check out. Ive never had any problems with that system here-I get an email promptly when my items are available, and theyre always waiting for me, clearly marked with my name, when i dash in. I actually appreciate their slightly "off the beaten path" location as it makes trips here less stressful than, say, the ponce location where im often scrambling for parking.
And the added bonus is that you can take your newly acquired reads down to joes and enjoy them immediately with a tea and cupcake!
