My little girl's lunch ladies love me. ATL Cupcake Factory "saved my bacon!" They saved me at the last minute with two dozen cupcakes for my little princess' 9th birthday party at her school. The kids & teachers and "lunch-ladies" loved the treats. Next time I'll call a week in advance instead of depending on providence and the total kindness of ACF's wonderful owner. I promise to plan ahead. Their very limited production keeps their quality super-high. Call them now for your order. Plan ahead.

OMG the cupcakes are excellent! The dulce de leche cupcake is simply amazing, its my favorite! If your in the Highlands stop by and grab one. It will be worth every bite!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Atlanta Cupcake Factory! You redeemed the cupcakes for me in the Hotlanta! After a couple of past experiences (both very bad), this tiny little place, its oh-so-cool-almost-a-rastaman dude at the register, his "Vote for Pedro" washed out t-shirt and the Orange Chocolate Ganache Vanilla cupcake made me happy, happy, happy!
Blame it on Mother's Day but when I arrived today at 3:30 p.m., there were just four cupcakes left. Four of them! So it was a take-it-or-leave-it moment. As I absolutely love the orange-chocolate combination, I got two of those four to go. Ryan was on the phone with me, and while I was paying and smiling at the cool register man, he asked me "babyyyy...why two of them, you?" I mumbled some excuse to him, something like "because I'm giving it to someone". Yeah that someone is my stomach. The other one was for me. It reminded me of all the bacon lovers in Yelp Atlanta...in my case, I'm the cupcake monster...what can I do?
The chocolate cover was delightful, a little more on the bitter side (which I loved), creamy and lush. The little fresh tangerine on top gave it a delicious, juicy touch. The cake itself was fine, nothing that would make me sing an Aria if by itself. It was fluffy, not very sweet and it had microscopic pieces of orange skin that made it somehow different in terms of taste. Overall, it was tasty and well-balanced.
Even though, these cupcakes are far, far away from Trophy's quality (if you're wondering, Trophy is in Seattle, my new hometown in three weeks!). But at least, I can go somewhere in my former-to-be hometown and happily chow down some tiny cake...arr, arr, yum, yum.

This is a cute idea, and I went in hoping it would be similiar to Sprinkles Cupcakes in L.A., which I absolutely adore. I was a bit disappointed. While the cupcakes were certainly good, it was the frosting that stood out. The cake itself tasted a little dry, and like anything I could have thrown together out of a box at home. I'd go back, but Publix' cupcakes are just as good to me!

Just because I live ITP doesn't mean I'm a baller. Seriously, $2.50 for small cupcake is a bit much for me to handle. I'm usually game to lay down some cash for a tasty treat, but these just didn't satisfy.
Don't get me wrong, they are tasty cupcakes, but not great enough for me to go back. Maybe I'm just not a big enough cupcake fan. Price aside, I prefer a Matty Cakes cupcake. And when you factor in price, I get twice the cupcake for my money.
I tried a peanut butter chocolate, which was my fav, an orange chocolate ganache, and a tiramisu was it? The tiramisu was my least fav, and they recommended it to me! damn, I should have got the coconut. Actually I had the same thing at Matty Cakes. I guess tiramisu cupcake=blah for me.
So anyway, here's how I see it:
If you're on a diet and want to feel like you're treating yourself, go to the Atlanta Cupcake Factory. You can spend some $, get a tasty fancy looking cupcake and not feel too guilty.
Or, this place is great to take your lady friend, cause she can eat light and you still have to fork over some cash so you both save face. You don't look like a cheap ass, and she doesn't look like a pig. Win win. And really, no offense to the ladies, I think you should eat whatever the hell you want. Just be prepared to eat like 2 or three of these things if you want to get full. Ok, so most chicks would eat like 1-2, but I needed 3.
Anyway, price issue aside, please don't hesitate to try them if you are in search of a good cupcake.

Adorable space, friendly staff and I love any baker who is throwing it down from scratch. Cream cheese icing? I am your new BFF Jill. As a baker/cake decorator, I am always looking to try a good cake or cupcake and this place came highly recommended.
The first time I went I bought a lemon cupcake and a sugar cookie with dulce de leche icing cupcake. The lemon was divine. Lemon with lemon cream cheese icing is one of my favorite combos and they were spot on with this gem! The dulce de leche cream cheese icing was very tasty but I was disappointed in the cake. A bit dry. I wondered if some of this was due to the icing not completely covering the cake part. Although aesthetically pleasing at times, the small swirl in the middle of the cuppie leaves the neglected portion sans icing. Let it sit out all day, it will dry up a bit.
I wasn't swayed...anyone can have an off day. I went back again and bought 3 new ones - a coconut, red velvet and a peanut butter chocolate. At $2.50 per cupcake, I was so hurt to find every single one to be dry and bland. Icing -delicious, cake - not so much. The chocolate one crumbled apart when I removed the liner and ended up throwing most of it away.
So out of 5 cupcakes, only 1 has been great throughout and worth the $2.50. I may have to finally get over to Matty's. Or just go turn my oven on.

Yum! Gotta love cupcakes and these guys are moist and delicious with amazing frosting's. They are only open to "the public" on weekends (and the times have been changing lately - errrr no more late night!!), but you can also pre-order and pick up on other days.
I've ordered the little mini's on pre-order for a birthday and it was cool to get 24 assorted flavors. The size is probably perfect, but I'm a glutton so the larger size is more my style. I've gotten a few 6 packs on days when the shop was open.
Favorites for me are Mint chocolate and the Peanut Butter.
Only negative is that the flavor is all in the frosting, the cake parts of the cupcakes are just one static flavor without anything special (other than the fact that they are delicious and super moist!)

Good cupcakes. Fun flavors. Great presentation. My only complaint is that for $2.50 a cupcake, the cupcakes are a bit small. The bakers are using the smaller liners (the paper that keeps the cupcake together).
It's the same complaint I sent off to Starbucks when they upped their prices and downsized their serving cups.
I'm not trying to be nitpicky but I've paid less for cupcakes and gotten more. maybe I was just sad that my cupcake experinece was over so soon :)

Tasty little cupcake treats found here!
They're so moist and yummy! We walked here today and tasted a couple of their treats... One was a Peanut Butter Chocolate and the other was a Dulce de Leche. So heavenly...
The only trick though is making this a destination when they're open. Call ahead. They mainly do catering and special events, but if you can catch them you will be part of something very special.

I have been hoping for a cupcake cafe in Atlanta like Magnolia Bakery in Greenwich Village, so I was elated to find that there was this place, nestled next to a nice antiques store on N. Highland. So after I strolled through the booths in the basement of this antiques place yesterday afternoon, I stopped in to get a cupcake. The cupcakes weren't the luscious, plush confections I had been hoping for. I don't know if it was because I came in at the wrong time, but the cupcake that I selected wasn't blowin' my mind. It was some kind of strawberry cake cupcake with strawberry (creamcheese?) frosting with half of a strawberry on top. Really cute cupcake...but I'm afraid I can't give a fair judgment on it because right after I purchased my $2.70 cupcake (with tax), I got sidetracked by stopping at the Urban Outfitters around the corner. I was in UO for about an hour, so when I returned to my car my cupcake was melty and hard to eat... I was driving with sticky fingers on the wheel. But I have to say that the cake part of the cupcake was pretty dry. I'll try this place again sometime.

This place is all kinds of cute! From the adorable little shop space, to the smiling staff, to the gorgeous little bites of deliciousness that they serve!
Being a huge cupcake fan - I have sampled cupcakes from all over the city. I think my search has ended here. The range of flavors has never left me disappointed (unless, of course, I get there too late and they have sold out!). Lemon Lemon, Banana Brown Sugar and Chocolate Peanut Butter always leave my mouth watering for more, more, more! However, I do feel obligated to tell you that the Chocolate Dulce de Leche cupcake really stands out from the crowd. The frosting is quite probably the most delicious thing I have ever tasted in my life and the moist chocolate cake carries it perfectly. If you haven't tasted it, do so immediately!
At $2.50 a pop, some call them expensive but in comparison to it's competitors, I found The Atlanta Cupcake Factory to be averagely priced. As I have found that they are the best cakes in the city, $2.50 is a small price to pay!
I am planning a birthday party for my 8 year old son in late April, and he has already demanded Sugar Cookie Chocolate Cupcakes instead of his traditional chocolate birthday cake! I am thinking of ordering the minis (perfect for little mouths!) and I can't wait to see his face, or indeed, sample the bite-sized taste-bombs myself!

It kills me that I can't go here regularly!!...I mean, I so would. I've always had a thing for cupcakes, the perfectly sized sweet treat. And when I heard that there was a shop specializing in cupcakes and cupcakes alone, I knew I had to go there the next time I'd be in Atlanta.
Atlanta Cupcake Factory is a small shop and in fact might look quite inconspicuous to passersby is the street. But really, it's your loss to miss a great place like this. The cupcakes....are to die for. They're always homemade by the owner, and so perfectly moist and delectable. They come in quite a few flavors, and I love all the ones I've tried so far: Chocolate chocolate, red velvet, chocolate peanut butter, coconut, giner lemon, etc. I recommend that you buy a six-pack to try any six flavors that you want, because it'll be too difficult to try to pick a single one.

Middle of the road...that is the best I can come up with! They weren't bad but not really memorable either. I love love love a cupcake and take pride in both baking and tasting them and I have had better in the city. Very nice staff and tiny cute space but I felt like the main draw (the cupcakes) lacked flavor. The frosting on the Lemon and the Carrot Cake was tasty but the cake part not so much. They are on the small side which doesn't bother me so much because how much do you really need! We also sampled the Chocolate/Peanut Butter, Red Velvet, Brown Sugar Banana and the Sugar Cookie Dreamsicle. NO..we didn't eat all of any of them which may sum up this whole review..at $2.50 per cupcake we would have finished every last bite.

Sweet baby Jesus these cupcakes are good! I hate the hours (Fri, Sat only from noon-8:30 or until all the tiny cakes have been snatched up), but I do feel like some sort of special secret cupcake society member when I am lucky enough to clutch one of ACF's little bundles of pleasure in my sticky little paw. Mmmm...

I'm a sucker for sweets and when my friends told me about Atlanta Cupcake Factory, I just had to go. Its location is somewhat hidden, because I just drove by it the first time I went there - Ooops! Since the name is Atlanta Cupcake FACTORY, I really assumed something big and flashy. In fact, it's just a small, neighborhood store: Nothing too grand about it. But their cupcakes sure are!
The owner is super nice. She was so friendly and helpful. I went 10 minutes before the closing time- so there weren't too many variety, but I tried the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake and Sugar Cookie Vanilla. The cake itself wasn't too sweet, but the icing was. So if you get a headache from eating too sweet things, you can just eliminate some of your icing. Sadly, there isn't a table where you can sit and enjoy your cupcake inside. There is a small bench outside the place, but that's about it. I think most people go with the intention of take-outs.
UPDATE: I've been going to Atlanta Cupcake Factory every Friday since this review. These cupcakes are addictive! My top recommendations are Red Velvet, Sugar Cookie Dulce de Leche, and Chocolate Vanilla. Coconut is also very good if you like coconuty things.

I was so excited when I noticed a tiny little sign in the corner for cupcakes! But, alas, they were not open. Tried the next day and they were not open. Finally found them open on Friday! It was like walking into Heaven- CUPCAKES! It smelled so good and sugary inside. The owner was absolutely awesome. She described every single cupcake of the day in detail for me. It was so hard to make a decision, they all looked so good. I went for the red velvet with almond cream cheese frosting and a lemony lemon cupcake. I still can't decide which I liked better. They were soooooo tasty- I picked up a few more to take home to my family and they were a hit.
I will be stopping here on Fridays to pick up a few goodies for the weekend!

I remember the most frustrating and wonderful part of living in L.A. is discovering small, nondescript places. They're nondescprit b/c if you ever lived in L.A., people get off on the fact that their businesses don't have signs, numbers, or any useful information like addresses. I guess the fun comes from their customers feeling like they've the only ones in on their little "secret." A risky business model but a bold one.
Anyhoo, apparently the cupcakes at this "factory" are hard to get b/c of funky "business hours" or their small tucked away location with you've guessed it, a signless storefront. However, I was one of the lucky few who managed to get her hands on a few last night.
Thanks to Yuna's review I went for the coconut, lemon, and peanut butter capcakes. I gave away the peanut butter one to my friend but not before tasting a small portion. My teaspoon full was really rich and creamy. I thought the cream/frosting was like whipped peanut butter air. However, my friend said the actual cake portion was a bit dry. But he ate the damn thing in less than 30 seconds, so you be judge.
I can't comment on the lemon one as it is in the fridge waiting to be devoured. The coconut was just a little coconut/ slight lemony piece of cupcake heaven. I don't know what my friend was talking about b/c the cake itself was moist, the frosting is sweet but not overtly so and the coconut flakes had this lemony "essence" which was quite refreshing. I don't know how they managed to create a cupcake, which is by its very nature is heavy and dense, to be so light and refreshing.
They make up for the fact that this place is a bit too emo. for my liking, I'm surprised that I managed to walk away from the place w/o a copy of a Demetri Martin cd, the latest issue of Ready Made, and/or joining some sewing/knitting circle
Update: The lemon cupcake, not so much. The "lemon" frosting taste really eggy.
