4 reviews for Athens Pizza & Spaghetti House
Better than any pizza chain in town. Thin crust, lots of cheese and toppings and piping hot, even for pick-up.
I haven't eaten pizza anywhere else since I've moved to town.
Gyros are good, too! (Haven't tried the pasta.)
I will try the pizza or a grinder next time I come.
My food was ordered as take out. I had a chicken gyro and salad. The salad was iceberg lettuce with little croutons (looked like the kind out of a box but it still tasted good). I had ranch dressing and it was a style of ranch that I like - thinner consistency, it drives me nuts when ranch has the texture of yogurt.
The gyro was pretty good. The chicken was more like a thick-deli cut, I prefer grilled and in strips, but it was still flavorful (think garlic). The tzatziki sauce was one of the better ones I've had, but usually when I get a gyro it has the tzatziki sauce, meat, tomato, cucumber, feta and red onion. This only had meat, feta and tzatziki.
It was pretty good, I would go back again but it wasn't the best I've ever had. I'm excited to try the grinder or pizza next time.
The crust reminds me of Papa Murphy's only soggy. They also use some sort of cheese blend that looks like it has cheddar in it. This made the whole pizza very greasy. So not worth the $15 per pie.
The pizza is decent, but the grinders are what I come for. I started with the meatball when I was a kid, then jr high and high school it was roast beef, its been turkey for about 15 years. Every once and while I will try something different, pepperoni or cold cut, but turkey is my favorite. It always tastes the same, awesome. Great service as well, very nice people. I hope when I am old and gray I can still go to Athens and get a grinder
