I grew up in Leominster and Athens is by far my favorite place in the city for Pizza. I can't tell you what it is exactly that makes the pizza so good, but something about it just separates it from other pizza places in the area. The sauce is good, a little bit sweet but not too sweet at the same time, and the cheese and crust are just as tasty. Although I love the pizza, the thing that always keeps me coming back to Athens are the calzones. The best calzone I've had hands down. The ricotta in the cheese mixture makes a world of difference. Also if you are in the mood for a sandwich you can't go wrong with the chicken parm sub. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because once and a while the service can be a little slow, but usually they are pretty good about getting you you're food relatively quickly

Who writes these reviews praising this place? Sorry but the food here is mediocre at best. There are much better places in the area to get pizza and sandwiches. The new location is a lot nicer but that's about it.

I am so glad they are back in full swing at their North Leominster Location. Though now I can no longer eat their due to Celiacs... fresh ingredients, for the most part friendly employees and quick service.

The first time I had Athen's pizza was a kid's birthday party at a little gymnastics place down the road in Leominster.   It was the best pizza I have had in a long time.   Since then, I have made many trips back and our favorite is the buffalo chicken pizza or one with tomatoes, feta and spinach.  There is something about the crust for the buffalo chicken pizza....it is fluffy yet substantial and is a bit on the sweet side.   I have also ordered salads from here and they are fresh and delicious.

Great food, great service. I had a veggie sub and often they do something wrong but it was perfect, which made me so happy. A great place to get subs and the pizza looks amazing, will try that next time.

Excellent pizza although it was a bit greasy. Two slices to go for me. I would say the thing to do is to ask that the slices not be heated when ordering to go so the grease is not so runny and messy if you are like me and trying to eat them in your car. Very tasty though and their new location where Jackie's Dairy Bar used to be is a great improvement over their former location.

I used to live in Leominster and since moving away, I have dreams about Athens pizza. I haven't found another place that serves it just the way I like it - a little well done, so the cheese gets those delicious brown spots and the crust is perfectly crunchy without being so hard that it cuts your gums. I always order the ricotta cheese, though I've also had plain cheese, mushrooms/sausage, and mushrooms/black olive. Sure the pizza is a little greasy, but what great pizza isn't?? I don't want a dry piece of dough. I've scoured my new city far and wide for pizza that even comes close to Athens, and I am sad to say that I am left only with dreams of the pizza I've had back home. Keep up the great work Athens, and congrats on the new location!!

Just visited the new main street location that used to be the old Jackie's Dairy Bar. Very nice inside, like the new location. Ordered a large plain, came out very well done. I've had the pizza here on numerous occasions and it is always good. Can't say much for any other menu items as I stick to the pie. But if you want a good pizza, this is the place
