Lora Grafenstein-Kinsel is not one of those creepy "wedding planner" ladies. I would know, I interviewed a couple of them. One 40+ wedding planner told me she loves planning other peoples weddings because she knew she would never get to plan her own, and then proceeded to look deep into my eyes with fiery jealousy. TOTAL CREEP! True story, and most of them are like that.
Lora is just a down-to-earth person that just does the work you dont have time to do. My family was demanding a larger wedding and I frankly didnt have the time to plan it. Nor did I want to--who cares about table shapes and napkin colors and personalized ribbons? I was not the type of girl that was "born to be a bride" but I soon found out that somebody has to make those decisions. Caterers, servers, band members, and photographers get really confused when you tell them "I dont care just choose for me". What type of maniac doesn't care about which song is played during the recessional?!?! Unfortunately, that attitude doesn't get you any closer to being done with planning the wedding so you have to dive in and get your hands dirty.
Lora understood me PERFECTLY and helped me finish every single thing I didnt want to do. Lora is also very conscientious of budget and I know for a fact that she saved me THOUSANDS of dollars over the course of rehearsal/wedding/reception/etc. She is a genius. My bank account cant thank her enough.
She was not so much a wedding planner to me but more like a friend that just happened to know what was going on and actually wanted to help; she gave me tons of advice throughout the whole process. Best of all, she helped me navigate contracts and ask questions I would never have dreamed of asking. She also coordinated changes due to rain and staged our wedding indoors at the last-minute. I didnt even care that it was raining because she was already in control and taking care of it all.
If it weren't for Lora I probably would have given up and eloped. As it stands now, our friends and family had a great time, I had the time of my life, and we came in under-budget.
